Tonight I am bringing a special cake..
The cake was great Christmasstar!!!!!!!!!!! Can I request an insane chocolate cake next week with a chocolate butter cream filling.
The hammock sounds wonderful but it has been to rainy here so I went to the library today and got a few Gooseberry Patch books for ideas on crafts and recipes. I like to try new recipes each year and always making new ornaments and decorations.

It is hot already, but then it really did not get very cool at all over night. Going up to 38c (100f) with a humidex it will feel like 47c (116f)
The pines was great as usual. did not feel as hot there, most likely because of the breeze blowing and all trees. Good company and good food but mostly all those iced drinks!
Even got a picture of Made in the hammock...

100 here, too, Christmasstar! UGH. Worried about my hubby and my dad - both work outside for a good part of the day... and both are too proud to admit when they need a break. I'm praying they drink enough water and take it easy, as well as you all in this awful heat!

Good morning, MMC!
I have been up off and on since 3 - I think it must be my new wake-up time. On my second glass of iced tea already. Made a fresh pitcher a few minutes ago - should be good and cold when I need it to be. It is in the front of the top shelf, and part of it actually freezes. The refrigerator is just a bit over or under a year old - I talked to a few people and they say that is a common problem. I've actually always wanted a refrigerator like the Shady Rest Hotel had in Petticoat Junction
I got the fur kids all fed already - there is a very nice breeze out right now and it is actually cooler outside than inside. The cats are passed out all over the place - lol. I wanted to get them taken care of as early as possible so that they can go into hiding during the extreme heat that is forecast. They tend to dodge my footsteps when I go out and mob the door to see if there is any food to be had. Bo hates being outside - I left him out from 8:30 last night to almost 11 and he whined most of the time he was out - the cooler and fresher air did him a world of good, but I think he thought he was being punished.
Going to get ready for work in a few.
Have a great day and I pray that everyone stays cool and hydrated and does not overdo things in this heat!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a nice way to relax and unwind at mid-week.
(Sort of like the 7th inning stretch in baseball.)
Speaking of relaxing, what better way to do it in the morning than with a glass of sweet tea while reading "The Daily Count":
Days to the Season: 115
Days to Christmas Day: 157
As of tomorrow we will be within two weeks of the 100-day Season mark.
(Really starting to close in on our first double-digit count number!)

cooked some potatoes for a salad at supper time, thought it would be nicer than ice cubes! Also wanted to get the cooking done before it gets any hotter!

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!
We had another evening at campmeeting yesterday. I got home at 9pm, and settled down to watch Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows pt.1. I woke up at midnight, having slept through the whole thing! I expected to be home alone again, but Nancy came home at 1am saying there was no room at her mom's place. She's been staying there for the last three nights, but so many other folks wanted to stay, she gave up her bed and came home. Thank goodness! I finally got to sleep all night after that! I just can't sleep if she's not there.
Tonight is a yearly gathering at Nancy's mom's place for boiled peanuts and homemade ice cream. I always look forward to that!

We're joining the heat wave for the next few days, with temps predicted between 95F and 100F. We have three window air-conditioners and just turn on the one where we are, plus we keep the bedroom cool all the time.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!! It is going to be HOT here today. We may offically hit 100 degrees for the first time in 23 years. I plan on staying inside all day expect for a few minutes to go out and get the mail. My plans for today are to do some cleaning that I have been slacking on while watching the CIJ shows. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
