Christmas Countdown - 2011

Hello all! What a busy couple of days!

I finally asked my last bridesmaid (one of my matrons of honor) to be in my wedding yesterday...we hadn't had a chance to see each other until now! I had written poems for each of my bridesmaids and when she read hers, she started bawling! At first I'd wondered what I did wrong, but then I realized they were happy tears and I started crying too, lol! She is so excited and I'm completely happy that everyone knows now!

Yesterday was also my mom's birthday, so Travis and some friends of my parents went out with my mom and dad to dinner. We had such a great time and my mom was in a great mood, which was awesome to see. Since their basement got flooded, she's been so stressed and just really hard to talk to, so it was great to be able to get out with her and in a jovial mood.

I had to work at Hallmark today and it is SO HARD to be around all the ornaments and Christmas cards without wanting to buy EVERY SINGLE ONE. Why do I have to work at the two stores with the most amazing Christmas items (Kohl's and Hallmark)??? haha

Then it was time for basket bingo with Travis' mom and sister and some other family friends. FINALLY I won one of the baskets (this is my 6th time going with this whole crew and I never come CLOSE to winning!)! It's a bunch of dips and beer bread and a key lime cheeseball from Longaberger baskets (kinda like Tastefully Simple type stuff) and I'm excited to try to make some of this stuff! Especially since I'm not really great in the kitchen...this could be a good start! (And even more if I can scrounge some extra money together to buy the MMC Cookbook!)

I hope you all are having a great Saturday! Unfortunately I couldn't watch the Penn State game but at least they won! And now Travis and I are watching LSU and West Virginia...hoping LSU can hold onto their lead! I'm jealous of those of you who have some cooler weather...while I'm notoriously a hot weather person, I am tiiiiiiired of it being so humid here! We have to keep our air on because while the temperature is cool, the humidity is killer.

One final thing...I see some of you on here using abbreviations like DH, DD, LC, etc...what to these stand for? Are they actually the initials of people in your life, or do they stand for something? And how many more initials are there out there? I sincerely apologize in advance if this is something I should know, but I am truly stumped!

I have not been camping in over 20 years. It's fun and would love to go again sometime. Glad you had fun!

My inlaws have a motorhome, so we take advantage of it and try to at least go once a year. We were able to go twice this summer, so it was really a great time. We love going too - we hope to be able to get a camperr for ourselves someday.

Another busy day planned here, but I will take it easy as I have been feeling blah of late.

Well, well, well.....
Big plans tonight....involves my grill, the outdoor fireplace, and my beautiful wife....

She's cooking me hot wings for some of my friends who are coming over. We are going to sit on the deck and watch a game...

hit the floor running today. Got a chocolate cake iced and ready to be picked up. Baked a batch of hamburger buns and dinner rolls. Cleaned the kitchen...except the floor, have to do that yet after I finish my paid break. Set up stuff for a yard sale that the kids are running right now...well they are young adults not kids any more! They are enjoying themselves and I am getting rid of a bunch of junk!

There is nothing on TV this morning, except talk about that satellite crashing down to earth somewhere. Not here, or I would get all the pieces and sell them for a small fortune and come and visit you all!

Well, I have to go and make a bunch of hamburger patties for lunch to put on the buns I made earlier and top off with that green tomato relish I made even earlier!

Good evening, MMC! I had a lovely day today. I went up to my husband's hometown to the Potatofest, which is a huge craftfair. I went with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. The local fire department also has a wine tasting and I went to that too. I bought 10 bottles...haha. I will now be set for the next year! My husband and I like our wine. My father-in-law actually makes it, so that is how I've become to like it. My husband had his first day back to work today - they were really busy and he said he felt like once he would start to get caught up on paperwork from one accident or fire call, then they would get another one. Welcome back! Well...I guess I will head to bed. He works again in the am and I head back to work tomorrow night at 11p. I love nightshift and it's easy for me to stay up all night, but will NOT be easy for me to be up all night when I haven't done it for almost 3 months. I'll catch everyone tomorrow!

LC & JP are the initials of my sons, I made a deal with my wife when I first started posting here I would not use their names for safety reasons. My wife is very weary of internet safety as she has seen many things being a teacher. It is nothing against anyone here, I hope no one is offended.

90 days !! where does the year go?
Had a nice saturday . just chilled out. a few drinks and done a few bets on the horses.(my family are into horses and training so i grew up with it. lots of point to point race meetings)
Went out with a few mates well they came to mine. always the same they come to mine befour going out. has always been that way, christmas.easter,halloween. birthdays ,
Dont no what its like where you live but i have seen a real change in people in bars. Use to be bars were full now they is plenty of room.
In my hometown a few of the bars stopped the music at weekends as there was not one going out. guess people they need there money for other things
Weather is cool and damp this morning but says there is going to be a real heat wave. which over here that wood be nice even for a few days
Dont no what an gonna do today. might do a bit of housework and then again i might not !!

Yep!! I just go to the program guide on their website and write out a list of all the shows that should contain christmas stuff for the following week.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!! It is going to be a cool wet day here in central Indy. That's fine with me. I have Christmas on QVC, racing, and football to keep me busy. My niece also spent the night so she will keep me busy today. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

I see that xmas365 uses initials of his kids names but some use dh (darling or dear husband) dd (darling or dear daughter) ds (darling or dear son).

I can't believe we're three months away from Christmas! :grin: I also can't believe we're already into autumn! We won't be getting any fall temps around here until this coming Saturday though. :lol:

This past week was very busy, but I'm hoping these next two weeks will be less stressful! I'm already looking forward to having a three-day weekend with Columbus day.

Today I'll be busy with some chores/errands, but I'll hopefully have some time to relax as the day goes on. cheesy

Another overcast morning here in the capital city but not as dark as it was this time yesterday.
We stand at 72 on the way up into the 80's
A bit on the humid side too, for late September.

Well, the weekend is half gone.
May the second half be at least as good as the first.
(If the college football team of your choice failed to win yesterday, hopefully you will have better luck with the NFL.)
