Well, today I called the doctor's office and the surgeon's nurse checked my chart and said I would be off work for eight weeks!!!!!

The last time my mom had her shoulder operated on she was off 12 weeks. She had to have no lifting restrictions though to go back or her doctor would have relased her after 4 weeks.

everyone with requests for prayers and well wishes for family and friends, it's done, thinking and praying for you all. xxx

i've been eating healthier and snacking less over the last couple of months, it's going quite well, but i can't stop thinking of christmas food. roll on december!!! i plan on stuffing myself with christmas cakes and cookies, turkey dinners, chocolates, baileys, full english breakfasts, and starbucks christmas coffees. december is the month that the diet goes out of the window and i can't wait!

glas to hear you are doing better.
:tree:

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!!! It is a chilly morning here in central Indy but we are going to start warming up rather quickly today. I have some cleaning to do today and then I might make some more apple bread. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

President Obama will be speaking at Eastfield College in Mesquite today which is very close to my house. I don't live in Mesquite but close to the border of it. Looks like the roads are going to be a bit hectic around here upon his arrival. I think I should just stay home!
I heard a couple snuck into the White house for a party once, why don't you try to sneak into this event and see what happens. cheesy

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I had an uneventful evening yesterday. Nancy and I put up some fall decorations, then I went to my council meeting. It was uneventful, too, but one of my fellow councilmen enjoys hearing himself talk. We were there for 2 hours last night, and we only had 30 minutes worth of real business to attend to! Grrrr. Cold pizza at 9:30 pm is not my idea of supper.

And I missed the new show I've been watching, Terra Nova. Grrrr.

Oh, well. I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Just a suggestion, like a make every year. We sell straw and hay and highly recommend bales of straw over hay for decoration because it is more water resistant and hay tends to mold faster. Straw tends to have a more decorative look too. Just a suggestion so whatever works best for you is what you should get! =)

Wow, I didn't know that - thx for the tip!!!

My sister said her arm pretty much cleared up overnight last night. Her face still has a little bit of the rash left though. She goes down to the children's hospital on Wednesday for her second infusion but they have decided not to give her the steroid this time. So I guess we will see if it really was the steroid that she reacted too.

I am thinking of your family and hoping things are on a positive course.

Good morning! I have a busy day ahead. going to finally put up halloween/fall decor up in the house and the yard. On my street almost everyone gets into the halloween decor which makes it feel so warm and nice! I think I am going to cook a ham/turkey dinner soon if this cool weather holds up. I remember this time last year I was single but happy but also lonely and I decided to cook a thanksgiving dinner for my friends and I did not know you had to thaw turkey out in the fridge...I thought you could just stick it out on the counter...luckily I checked online quickly and found out that was a no no!!! well have a great sunday Everyone!

Tee hee, this reminds me of the 1st time I made a frozen turkey, they said to wash it, and I called the "800" number (this was back in the late 90's when it was only dial up and very expensive) and I ask, OK now please don't laugh remember it was my 1st turkey I ever cooked all by myself, I asked "what do I wash it with? Do I need an antibactrial (sp) soap or will a body wash do?" I think the lady almost lost it, she laughed SO hard... Well, needless to say I know only wash my turkey with cold water!!!! OK now you can laugh!!!

GOOD MORNING!!!!

we've had a crazy indian summer over the last week in the U.K, the beginning of september was cool temps and then suddenly over the last week the temps have shot up! here in the north west of england it's starting to cool down again and it really feels like autumn (thank goodness!)

in one month and 4 days starbucks and costa coffee will be launching their christmas flavoured coffees and i cannot wait.

today my daughter and i are staying in, going to put coraline on and bake some cakes, i love autumn days like this!

It has been very odd here to we normally have beautiful Sept nice, warm, and dry not this year it has had been hazey, hot, and humid, even on Sat it was in the 70's and humid, ewwww. It was nice on Sunday we had some sun, but Yesterday and today rainy.

I just found out that Starbucks by me severs the Peppermint Mocha ALL YEAR!!!!

That was what I was worried about at the PTA meeting last week when my grandson got his award. I wanted to see him get his award but I didn't know how much talking was going to go on afterward. I told my mom, "I got to get home in time for the X-Factor"! Ha ha! It actually didn't drag on too long and I got home way before it came on.

Do like I do. We don't have cable, too expensive. I download all my shows.

I'm so drowsy and slow today. I'm in one of those modes where I have various projects going on at home, so going to work takes time and energy away from getting them done! So I was plugging along on an audio project last night before getting a late dinner and hitting the sack. More tonight after work, plus some paperwork to fill out and sign.

Crown: Have a great trip, and I hope you get there this week!

I don't like Egg Nog either. I try it every year and I never grow to like it. But, it's great to hear/see that the stores are already stocked!

Try the vanilla flavor---tastes like vanilla ice cream. Sugar-cookie flavor is good, too. I've never tried the plain stuff.

I had to share this....!!! I am sure you all have seen this.....this polar bear and a few of her companions came upon these Huskies and DID NOT HURT THEM......they cuddled them and played.......I just thought it was cute......xo

Good morning pals! I think Jude and I are going to bake a pumpkin pie today! I think he's the only 3 year old who LOVES Martha Stewart (he loves to cook!) and we watched an old episode about pie the other day.. he has asked me the past few days if we could bake a pie so we will today! It's so nice and cool today... highs in the 50s. Perfect fall weather - chili for dinner! Mmmm.

ohhh Chili, YUM!!!! That is so cool that he already likes cooking/baking!!! Hope it came out taste!!!

I went back and re read my journal from last year, and this is why I am so glad I document stuff like this... last year was an excellent Autumn. Our leaves began changing around the 20th of october, and they were peaking the 2nd week in November. Some late changing trees like my bradford pears where changing the first week of december...I wonder how this year will shape up,I have lost a few trees from the drought I just hope its not for good. But I am having fun looking back over last years goings on. I need to get busy and start decorating...I have a neighbour who is very religous and will think it is the worst thing I am skipping church to decorate the yard for halloween!!! have a great day all!

If they are very religous, then they should be thanking you tee hee you are warding off the evil spirts - tee hee

Hi everyone! So I am finally caught up! I go back to work tonight...after really only 1 1/2 days off - I dislike weekends like that. Anyway, I am about to get Minestrone soup going for dinner and I want to also bake some type of Apple cake for dessert and to also take for work tonight. I going to take a pizza dip for work tonight too - I feeling generous! I hope everyone is having a great day. I'm watching the Steelers game right now and they're not looking so hot. Have a great day everyone!

Yummy soup, sometime I read these posts and even if I have just finished eating I am hungry all over again!!! HA, HA, HA!!! It was good to hear from you :)

Afternoon all on this (well..here) cloudy cool afternoon. Its in the 40's and I swear I saw a snowflake! The inlaws are coming over for dinner as well as my sister in law. That should be fun. We have a ham cooking! I went to the dollar store today. Every halloween I decorate my desk at work. People are waiting to see what it will look like this year. Hopefully this week I know if I have the job. Well off I go! They should be here soon! Have a great rest of the weekend everyone!

That sounds so cute, I put up some pumpkins but that's about it, maybe I can "steal" you idea?!?!?!cheesy

hey everyone. back from the excursion....It was a beautiful day. At this place we seen all different type of professions....how they used to be done back in the day....without all those mashines and electricity.....for example they showed how a blacksmith used to work, carpenters, taylors and on and on.....it was very interessting and impressing to us grown-ups......and for kandice it must have been out-of-this-worldish . then we went up to an old ruined castle and checked out the view from the tower of it....later on we went to have some nice dinner.......tasted yummy and the prize was good to for the amount of food that was on the plate.

I will put up some pictures tomorrow

It sounds like you had such a nice time, how cool you went into an old castle tower!!!

We always have one service in the fall that we call "Homecoming", and everyone makes extra effort to be there, especially those who have moved away, or married and attending another church. It's always a big event with a preacher from years ago, and a big meal afterwards.

Sounds like what my Pastor sets up at the end of Oct, it is called Shepherds Day.

A Methodist thing for sure!

Tee Hee - maybe

PSSSST Wal-Mart here has already put out their eggnog AND holiday coffee creamers. I am sitting here right now having a cuppa with Peppermint Mocha in it. I also saw a local bakery shop selling their snowman eggnog cookies too. Those are yummy but until they get then in gluten and sugarfree I have to be content with walking in and smelling them.

Ohhh yummy... I just SO love this time of year such a great time the start of all the goodness yet to come!!!!

Uuuugh. Car trouble AGAIN. This weekend I went camping and near the exit someone was blocking the road, loading a trailer. I thought "well, I'll be nice and go around in the grass/leaves so they don't have to move." BAD IDEA. I hit something and now my VW has a piece of metal almost dragging the ground. Apparently something with the suspension came loose. It's not crucial, obviously since I drove it from Chattanooga to Knoxville like this, but every time I hit a bump this piece of metal drags a little. I'm taking it to the shop today or tomorrow so it's not a huge deal but it's just more of a hassle. I just got the car back a month ago after having to have the transmission replaced. Booooooo.

And I missed the new show I've been watching, Terra Nova. Grrrr.

How is that show? I can't believe I missed it so far.

I was finally able to get a couple of pictures to upload so if you wish to see a picture of the bear cub we saw at our house, you can look see it on my profile in the photo album.

Have a great everyone.
