Maybe you could schedule some special christmas time on your calendar! it's important to think about yourself as well! Besides, you could see the update of your kitchen as a prep for christmas! hope you get to enjoy your christmas preparation!

Thanks ... we some dates scheduled where are are doing special outings with the our kids. I am going to change one of those so we can spend the day home in our PJS all day, relaxing and just watch Christmas movies all day with the family.

With the kitchen being slowly worked on the past few weeks I have not had the chance to do as much baking as I normally do at this time and I really want to bake. Hoping to be able to do some baking this weekend.

Good morning, everyone!

Thursday! Normall, it would be the day before weekend, but my weekend starts at 3:45 this afternoon. As a federal government "employee" I am a off tomorrow - without pay, albeit. You want more good news? I do not have to return to this job on Monday! Normally, that would be a downer, however, I have landed a casual (90-day work contract) at Health Canada. I will move up the payscales from making minimum wage ($10.25) to somewhere around $18 per hour. I am incredibly excited! The 90 days will last until about the beginning of April, so I am set for the short-term.

My old boss contacted me three weeks ago and asked if I was looking for work. Everything worked out so perfectly. I'd say that I cannot wait to start on Monday, but instead, I am looking forward to something a little closer. Yes, I am looking forward to Sunday. We are only three days away from the beginning of the Christmas Season! Yes, at midnight on Saturday/Sunday, we will chime in the Christmas Season together. Christmas music will play, Christmas films will be watched, and the rest of the world will be filled with the same spirit that we have felt all year long - the Christmas Spirit! Such joy, such excitement!

What a week this will have been. Things are certainly looking up (for me, at least). This new job will allow me to take some additional qualification courses for teaching, too. I am not entirely sure what I will take yet, but I am excited to start doing some school work, once again.

I say looking up, but I must end on a somber note. My grandmother had a small stroke yesterday. This is her third small stroke. I do not know if they are all adding up, but I would ask you all to look out for her. At times, she may weep in her own self-pitty, but she is my grandmother and was always there for me as a child. I really just want her to make a full recover (or as close to it as possible) and be as happy as she can be throughout the Christmas Season. I am excited to see her in just over a month's time. I land in the Sault on the 19th, and I plan on visiting her by myself on the 20th.

Congrats on your new job and I will be sending good thoughts your way regarding your grandma. I hope she's doing better.

Hey Guys! First of all I don't know how I can express enough how much you all mean to me...I could feel your prayers and It did give me peace these last few days. I care about each and every one of you and I am thankful I have found a place where empathy and christmas spririr lives year around! I am still In Portland,Or at my folks home.. My dad had a stroke as CAH has shared with you and my mom came home from the Hospital today she had broken collar bone and broken ribs and is sore but will mend...now my dad is in for the long haul. we really don't know the extent of his stroke except for it was a major one and he has not really woke up yet,although the Dr said starting tomorrow he will give him drugs to wake him up..I will keep you posted because that is really all I know now,but thanks to each and everyone of you for having me and my family in your thoughts...it means the world to me ..talk to ya'll later!

SO GLAD to hear your mom is okay, and all my best for the best recovery for your dad. And I know this is late but Happy Veterans Day to you and THANK YOU for everything you've done for our country!

Just a brief post today. I am really, really sad. Monica, the lady who has Lola, called a few moments ago and called it all off so I am not going to be able to adopt her. She said her husband's asthma had not bothered him for a few days and they decided to keep her.

I want the puppy to be where she will be loved and cared for and I would have done that. She said something about maybe she could call in a month if it doesn't work but I kind of shyed away from that. It will be nearly Christmas by then and I don't want to be heartbroken on Christmas.

Thank you for all your well wishes about Lola. I guess I should not have said anything about her until I actually had her. I was sure I would be adopting her........

I am going through the posts whenever I can...I am only up to Saturday morning after looking at this thread for over an hour!!! I am determined to read them all! I have been very busy and distracted the last few days, but I am hoping things return to normal soon. That sounds amazing just saw that the starbucks at my trainstation was all decorated for christmas and had their christmas blends and cups out! I was trilled!

I can understand you feel awful due to all of this! i think you should not think about what others think, but about what you want to do. However, if you feel it would make you uncomfortable, you can always decide not to do it, and maybe find an other way to make money for the good cause, since that is what counts! Don't get yourself to the point you feel awful, because what you want to do comes from you good heart, so don't feel bad about wanting to help someone else, it's people like you that improve the world!

Hope you are all doing well... I haven't posted really too much today... DON'T laugh I have a HORRIBLE case of poison ivy... Can you believe it - I tell you it is a pain!!! I made a DR appt so hopefully it get better soon. But, it is kind of a funny story, I saw it and touched it but didn't know it was poison ivy until I started getting these red bumps.

So, I am laughing at myself and my pink lotion all over my arms and legs:lol: I look like quite a sight!!!!

Peeking in. I had noodle soup for lunch b/c that was the only thing that appealed to me. Also, I've been sleeping A LOT b/c that seems like the only thing I CAN do. I'm sure the reason why I'm feeling so crappy is b/c of this flip-flop weather. It's confusing my suppressed system! :-(

thought I would jump on here a moment before the other kids get home from school. the two that are home schooled are done for the day, and now helping me making a cake for our youngest son/brother who is 3 today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEAN BRADLEY! it's seems like time is flying, and it seems like only yesterday we brought him home from the hospital!


after we bake the cake we have the rehearsal for the play, then supper, then eat the cake, baths, and then bed for the kids and Hubby......and I am watching my nephew till 12:45 am! SOOOOOOO when all that is done it's back to MMC for me, to listen to the podcast with a BIG glass of Ice tea and unwind and then to bed for me. lol this is normal for my household LOL!

I gave in and went to the doctor this morning. I have a sinus infection and a cold. He gave me a shot of big-time tylenol for the sinus headache that was blasting throughout my head, so finally that quit hurting. He also gave me some prescriptions for the cough and the rest of my ailments. At least I can talk a little better now! I hope all of you who are feeling under the weather perk up soon. It is the pits to not feel well, especially at this joyous time of the year. Hubby is fixing his spaghetti tonight for dinner with fresh Italian sausage. I told him to spice it up a little to open my sinuses. I have to go into school for after-school intervention. I teach a small group for an hour Monday through Thursday. Talk to y'all later.

I hate having to press this or that and spend 10 MINUTES trying to get a human voice all to because you want to do a follow-up on a medicine the insurance won't cover (though it has before). I FNALLY have a voice but i keep on getting a B.S. answer. They're now going to fax a paper to the doctor.


As you would imagine, I'm very frustrated and currently ON HOLD!! :x


P.S. 15 minutes later (nearly 5 p.m.) I got another voice and she was MUCH more helpful. I gave her my OBGYN's #, info, blah blah....HOPEFULLY it'll go through before I leave for Tampa Saturday morning. I still haven't having to enter a bajillion numbers just to get to a person

This is so true! I don't mean to be morbid today - but I did not want to come to work today. Was totally dreading it. THEN I drove past our neighbors house, where they were just backing out of the driveway - heading to the hospital where they will be disconnecting their son from life support this morning - after he suffered several strokes. Then I thought - going to work is not bad at all!!! Sometimes you need a wake up call! Count your blessings!

It does make you count your blessings! Prayers to that family.

Was gonna do my outdoor lights this year for charity but have thought long and hard about it and have decided not to
i an so scared of people thinking that i wood use or take any of it. this town of mine is small and i have heard what they have said about other people.
And as well i wood be scared of someone stealing the money box as it wood have been put on the fench and i could not watch it all the time
And the party i was at on sat night was saying to my mate about it ,he had done a big breakfast 2 months ago for a cancer charity. and he was telling me , that people that actually come into his cafe everyday and still do. asked well steven how much did you make? and he said £1050 one then said back to him now steven how much did you really make?
Think when i heard that. it was enough for me.
I had to phone the person over the lapland trust and tell her.she said if i change my mind just let her know but since i have done it. i feel like i have let then down and feel real rotton about it
My partner says i done the right thing as he knows that it wood get to me real bady if i heard anything and i no i wood and he says that the lights will still give lots of people pleasure and anything thay can say is an mad or how does she pay the electric bill ""
My uncle says . let the people say what they want as they have nothing better to do. and it be a jealious thing as they have nothing to do all day only talk about people.

Do whatever you think is best for you. I think doing something for charity is great, so if you can still donate in some way, even if you don't want to the light display, then maybe you could do it in another way.

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a great day/evening. Just checking in. DH is feeling better today. He hasn't said much about it. The kids, my sister, and me are getting ready to head out for dinner. That's my treat to her for watching the kids all night while DH and I work tonight.

Not too much to report here. I have a busy week ahead. Lack of sleep as well. Oh well. I work the weekend too. Next week will be a short week though, with Thanksgiving and Black Friday, as I took a holiday on Black Friday and then I have that weekend off. I am sooo looking foward to it!

I hear ya! I am trying sooo hard not to let the dang weather take away my Christmas spirit...but I was just out taking a break at work and I am telling you it is shorts and tshirt weather...this is just going to be a year down south where one day you will wear shorts then the next a sweater...that is what keeps alot of people sick too! I have to try to just go with the flow and take what I get when it comes to the weather!lol

we hit 82 here today,.... record.. it felt like late May not mid November.. warmer even more tomorrow,....
