Christmas Countdown - 2011

Good afternoon,

Our shopping excursion was a big success, almost 100% done now, just a couple more things for the love of my life and I will be done. Yippeee! We had a great day, just need to get it all wrapped now.

I am so sentimental and mussy sometimes. I have my dads old sweater, the one that he wore a lot, and he is seen wearing it in many pictures. Everyone in the family talks about it from time to time. So, I decided this year as a special gift to everyone, I am going to make ornaments out of it. (and a couch cushion for mom since she never decorates anymore)
Anyway, I am having such a hard time making the first cut to start. I put the sweater on and started crying. Dad has been gone for 14 years now, but sometimes I just miss him so much.
I know sharing the sweater with the family will really bless everyone, and I will do it, it is just a tad hard to get started.

What a neat idea, Christmasstar! I'm thinking of you, I'm sure you miss him so very much. What a comfort and beautiful surprise those ornaments will be! xo

Two suggestions: Take a picture of the sweater before you cut it AND include that picture plus a picture of your dad wearing it with the ornament.

I can understand you miss him so badly still. He was your father. He was such a special person in your life, I'm sure. The gifts sound so wonderful. What a great idea. I love Seawaters idea as well!
 
Good evening, everyone! Just watching Polar Express on ABC Family. I've gotta go lay down and try to take a nap soon, so I figured I would check in for the evening.

Nothing new here, of course. I've had a few nice hours with the kids and DH. DH works nights the next two nights and so do I, so I will have to make sure I get up pretty early the next two days to really even see him since he leaves at 4. :(

Anyway, I hope you're all having a great evening. I hope you're all being able to enjoy this season as much as I am. It so nice to able to see it through a child's eyes. Children are just amazed at Christmas time and I LOVE it. Good night all and talk to you tomorrow! :-D
 
Sooooo......guess who is thisclose to finishing making her homemade Christmas gifts? Yup.....ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!


I just need to burn their CDs (which I'll do in a few minutes), type up Mom's letter, and buy bags to put them in (I don't think Dad would like getting his CD in a Victoria's Secret bag :wink:)

Not so bad as all that, I guess ... just the blues and a bunch of little frustrations. Nothing that a little patience and hope won't mend. I'm glad you're all here when I have a bad day.
