Good Morning, Everybody.

Onward we move through the week.
Onward to 'Pines Day, then Weekend Eve, then Saturday!

To mark our progress, we meet here each morning to review the count.
So here goes:
Days to the Season: 154
Days to Christmas Day: 196
Under 2 weeks now until Milestone # 10, the half-way Christmas Day marker.

Quite a bit of rain fell here yesterday afternoon.
More of the same is predicted for today.
At this hour, we read 70 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Folks!

Good evening, Christmas family..

Finished working for the day and just taking it easy now. I have been feeling Christmassy all day so I may turn on The Polar Express or maybe one of the Mrs. Miracle movies.....I have quite a few Christmas things on my DVR....I have also been really cold today for some reason even though it is actually quite muggy outside here....

In only five months it will be time to put the tree up again !!!! Yay !!!! And Christmas music will be back on Music Choice !!!
I am feeling very Christmasy too!!!! It usually hits me about this time of year!

If you were one of those "Housewives" reality stars you would. I think they bring a makeup artist to their bedroom before they open their eyes. Ha ha! =)

I have a question for those of you who are home owners......It may sound silly but....I have started looking at small homes and condos with the intention of buying early next year. If any of you are in a condo....Do you miss that you don't get to decorate the whole wide front of a house and yard at Christmas? And for those of you that are in a house...how much enjoyment does decorating your yard bring you? I found some really homey condos I really liked at a good price...but then it dawned on me that I wouldnt get to fully decorate at Christmas(and also that if we got a snowfall that only stuck to the grass, as we so often do around here, that i would miss it because my yard would be a parking lot haha.) I would appreciate all of your opinions..Thanks!

I love decorating our yard. I have a Nativity scene that I put in a dark area in the center of the yard, and (I think) it looks great from the road. Nancy & the kids also got me an outdoor Christmas tree that plays music as it's light flash to the beat. I love that, too! Also, wreaths and lights on the deck railing!

This past Sunday our pastor did a sermon about Noah's Ark and the focus was on the rainbow. In other words no matter what happens in your life there is always the rainbow to show that life gets better.

I had told him after the sermon that is so true because someone had just said to me, "2012 has been a bad year for you"! My uncle passed away and Wayne got put in the hospital. I immediately said, "no, I will not adopt that attitude". It WILL be a good year and unfortunately things happen. Don't get me wrong, I am still immensely sad that my uncle is gone and I was worried sick about Wayne while he was in the hospital. Unfortunately, I cannot change the circumstances in my life and must move forward and make the best of it with the family around me. I also have the fondest memories at my uncle's house for Christmas but I love Christmas and so did he so I must look forward to the holiday season on his behalf and I will! Christmas has always been therapy for me during rough times and it has always worked. I am not sure it will work in all situations in my life but I can only hope! I see the rainbow!

Merry Christmas Cheer to all!!!! :???:

What a great attitude! :-D

Tuesday hello ... one day closer!

 just because I am happy you are getting to go!

If FIL takes a sudden turn for the worse it could stop us, but I'm trying not to think that way---'cause vacation is looking more and more real! I've been playing Hawaiian music in the car.

I am thinking of getting my sister a Kindle Fire.....Does anyone know if any of the Kindle family will surf the web ?? She wants a reader that also surfs the web........I can't afford to get her an iPad (boy would I LIKE TO HAVE ONE too !!) but I want to get her something that will some of what the iPad does..........

I have a Kindle Fire, and I surf the Web with it. (It's a close relative to an Android tablet.) I usually use it to check the MMC forums (using the Tapatalk app) last thing before bed. It's smaller than an iPad, so it's useful to have a stylus for tapping links and using the keyboard. (Of course, Fire has direct links to Amazon and its cloud storage.) Besides memory for Kindle books, there's a modest amount of additional memory so you can load MP3s and a few movies on it, and there are numerous apps available for it. It has its limitations, but it's a fine little tablet computer.

Kindle Touch will also surf the Web, but I don't recommend it---it's slow and difficult to navigate. But the Kindle Fire surfs the Web nicely.

The worst pain I have felt was actually yesterday in the wave pool at Six Flags, I don't know why but that really hurt my foot a lot.

If you were unconsciously bracing yourself against the waves to keep your balance, that could have put extra stress on your foot ...

That's a lesson it would do me well to learn on days when circumstances are getting me down.

Afternoon MMC!

Haven't been on in a few days, my 10 week old daughter had her first cold!, which meant that it was a weekend without sleep!

The upside was she smiled after every sneeze :-D

She is better now and i got a great nights sleep last night, hope everyone here is ticking along their own merry road.

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I opened Bernie's store again this morning while Bernie is away on a fishing trip to the coast. Our normal hours are 7am to 7pm, but I usually turn on the "OPEN" light when I get there at 6am. I did a pretty good bit of business in that early hour!

We've really been getting some rain lately! The pool was getting a little low, so I put more water in it yesterday during lunch. Then it started raining at 5pm. Now it's too full and I have to pump some out. LOL

Yesterday was our first day of VBS and it went great! Our church is very small, and we typically "share" a pastor with another area church. Ours meets from 9:30 - 10:30 am, then he goes to the next church from 11:00 - 12:00. Anyway, we usually share VBS with the other church, too, but not this year...and we had a big crowd! Our previous pastor decided to stay with us during VBS, and the new pastor was there, too. I think he'll be great for us.

After church, I had to go to city hall for a couple hours to prepare a report to the state concerning our water system. It's a report of all the regular testing we have done, and it was due June 1...! Maybe they'll forgive a new mayor for being a week late with a report? We'll see.

I hope y'all have a great day!

Hi Snowman1971, we own a house now & love to decorate!! Aside from lights around the roof of the house, and some in the trees & shrubs out front, we don't have much room to do a lot of decorating. We live in the desert, and the newer houses out here don't have much of a yard. The previous property we owned was a condo, and we decrorated our patio like crazy! It was so much fun to walk around the development & see everyone's holiday patio decor. I think you can make it merry & festive with either type of home :) Best wishes to you!!

hey y'all! went w/ my sis to her dr.'s appt today. recheck on her back, everything is going great. funniest thing though, we get to the appt & as we get out of the car she puts her backbrace on as though she's been wearing it the whole time right? when we are leaving she says laughing, "he said i don't need it anymore i've worn it long enough", huh? she's such a nut! we spent the afternoon together while hubby, daughter, & her friend were @ the beach.

Hey merry, glad your sister's check-up went well!

tomorrow is daughter's 16th b-day & i've ordered her a sweet 16 charm & necklace. it will be in tomorrow around 1pm. we are all going out to supper tomorrow night & then back here for cake & i think that's when we'll give it to her. hope she likes it. she & her friend are a bit bored tonight since we are not doing anything but, hate it for them, i need some down time some times. it's my vacation too.

Happy [sweet 16] Birthday to your daughter!! Her necklace sounds lovely, and I'm sure it'll be very special to her for a long time to come.
Enjoy your vacation, friend!!! xo

It is sore everyday, I probably will have pain for a long time according to my Dr. Some days are worse than others, I have been able to start running recently without too much pain. The worst pain I have felt was actually yesterday in the wave pool at Six Flags, I don't know why but that really hurt my foot a lot.

Hope your foot feels better, xmas!!

Well she is sleeping but I get to put up their swimming pool because their dad doesn't know how to do anything. It's only 30 inches deep but maybe I'll take a swim after I'm done.
