Christmas Countdown - 2012

Not much planned for today since I finished all my classroom work yesterday. I do want to do some professional reading and, of course, take a nap! I am sure that one of the reasons I was so tired these past two weeks, besides working long hours to get ready for school is that I am used to taking AT LEAST one nap a day. Now I am down to NONE, cold turkey!!! It is going to be another scorcher here in northern California. The wild fires do not help us any. I have ash on my car most mornings, and the fires are over 60 miles away! Have a great rest-of-the-day, everyone!

I got a few hours of work in the morning and then I'm taking the rest of the weekend off.....

Made, I really think Jr. will have a good race this weekend!

Saturday is one of my favorite days of the week, of course! Working a few hours won't be too bad and then you can relax for your weekend. When school starts for me, things pick up - no free time!

Pre-setting the coffee pot for 5:30 AM..... and if anyone is up BEFORE then, feel free to go ahead and turn it on...

Yeah, I definitely wasn't up that early LOL. I actually slept in a lot today, which I'm feeling a little bad about now. I feel like my day wastes away if I get up too late. Hope you enjoyed the morning coffee! Have a good weekend!

what is up my holiday friends.......I am looking forward to christmas....but am enjoying summer to the fullest....might go to a local lake today....not sure yet.....a forecasted 100.4 degrees.....yeehaa....but before housework is waiting....already been arrangin most and now need to vaccuum and mop dem floors

I am also looking forward to Christmas, but I do agree with you. The summer is always a good time to spend with friends/family :] I hope you enjoy your time at the lake if you decide to go - at least you can hide from the heat! Hopefully your time flies by cleaning...that's never fun!

work until 2 and then not back again until 3 on Wednesday! most likely will get called in before then, but will enjoy for now. I can finally get caught up on some stuff here.

Good Morning MMC!!!! It's going to be a beautiful day here with a high in the mid 70's. I got a early wake up call at 5am telling me that my brother in law had thrown out his back and wanting to know if I would come out and babysit while my sister took him to the hospital. So that's where I'm at. Hopefully they get home soon so I can run to the farmers market because I really don't want to drag both of my niece's with me. Now I'm off to find some caffeine since my sister doesn't have any coffee. I hope everyone is having a great day!!!!!!!

I hope that your brother-in-law feels better soon. Throwing out your back is not a good experience at all. My mom did that around this time last year and it took her quite some length of time to recover. Since you're always babysitting you should just buy a stash of coffee and keep it somewhere in her house so you can make it for yourself! Hope you get out to the farmer's market!

What a lovely, cool morning! All the stuff I should have done yesterday I need to do today. On Wed./Thurs. I pulled a major muscle in my side/back and had to take it easy yesterday. I had planned on working on store stock and moving books around (I have them piled every where!), but since I couldn't twist or do a lot of lifting I ended up spending yesterday with my cousin. We went to Frankenmuth to grocery shop and do lunch. We hung out at her house for a few hours and then went to Caro to shop at Goodwill and then have dinner. It was a fun day! Mouse was upset I had been gone all day and gave me quite a talking to ~ I gave her a hug and apologized for leaving her alone with Bo and Palmer locked in separate areas of the house. She finally forgave me and then ignored me for the rest of the evening. I am very tired this morning, though, as I was up past my normal bed time of 9 - 10 pm. Mouse had me up early as she was hungry. She had food in her bowl, but she gets a third of a can of "special" cat food and she wanted it when she wanted it and wasn't going to take no for an answer. She pulls this stunt every now and then ~ maybe she wasn't as forgiving as I thought :grin: She also wanted a polar fleece blanket on the bed. I left a few windows open last night and it got down into the low 40s this morning. At this time of the year, the sun does not shine in the house much, so she was chilled. She is happily snoozing on her blanket, with her hot pad nearby. Bo is snoring in the utility room and Palmer is out, racing around the living room and playing in a paper grocery bag. She is playing pounce, too. She will tap me with her front paws and then race away. She loves that game!

I need to get going on things ~ so much to do!

Good morning! I am so sorry that you pulled a muscle - that can be very painful. One of the worst areas is the back. I am glad that your day turned out well yesterday with your cousin, it sounds like a lot of fun! Moving books around probably would have been the worst thing for your back. Make sure that you take it easy today, too! Aw, Mouse probably missed you and I am sure sure she will be over it today :] Your story about her food made me laugh - she sounds absolutely adorable. A little spunk in her, huh? That sounds like a very cool morning, I think we are in the 50s here. What a comfortable morning you have with Mouse, Bo, and Palmer! Going from napping to not napping will certainly wear you out! If anything, you should have cut down the length of time you slept compared to cutting naps out! My uncle has to take at least one nap every day or he is just flat out exhausted. I bet you will get a lot of energy back if you start resting again. Wow, that's crazt about the wild fires. My aunt and uncle live in northern California but they never mention much about the fires. I hope it doesn't get as hot as they called for. Have a wonderful day and make sure you rest!!

Good morning, everyone!

I do not have very much planned today (sheesh, I feel like I say this every day) except for maybe grilling out with my family. My family was hoping to go to a baseball game, except our team is playing out of town so that's not going to happen. I have everything sorted out for school, finally, so it'll all depend on Monday and if I can get through on the phone and quickly reserve the classes that I want. I am not feeling so well this morning. My allergies apparently are not allergies like I thought. My throat is hurting when I swallow on one side, so hopefully I am not coming down with a cold. I have a lot to do this week and next weekend so I really can't afford to be sick!

I might put in a Christmas movie this evening and make myself some cinnamon hot chocolate since it is supposed to be cooler.

Thanks! A couple of his disc's are detorating and they need to be fused together but he is trying to put it off as long as he can. I don't think he is going to last to much longer though. The holidays always kill him, so if he is already having problems this year isn't going to be pretty.

Update: I just read that he crashed the car he won with last time right as practice was ending this morning. So he'll be starting the race with a back up car that hasn't been on track. Not Good!!

I've only gotten 12 tomatoes off of my plants but one of the guys at the farmers market this morning had some 30 pound boxes for $15. I couldn't pass up that deal. They may not look perfect but who cares when all your going to do is chop them up anyways.

whew! it's hot outside! I just have got home and comfy...it was 94 on the drive home with the humidity I'm sure we are talkin triple digit heat index...Anyway so glad it is the weekend...we have NOTHING planned this is the last week before the local high schools football games start...and I am sure Brad will tell you that in Georgia in the fall high school football rules!!! it may even come before church around here! Brandi works with the football team and the cheerleaders so this is our last "quiet" weekend until November(when the baby is due) and unless we go to state it could last until December!!! so needless to say we are pulling the shades locking the doors and hiding out in our house from the outside world!lol I hope ya'll alll have a great and safe weekend...I hope to be hanging out here more trhis weekned too...talk to you guys later!

Sitting here with my Wishbone peacefully sleeping up against my side, Hermione is on the back of the love seat with her head on my shoulder and Clancy is on the couch snuggled in. As per usual, the felines, Smokey and Lily are looking for more mischief !!

The job is going well !! In fact they gave me two more accounts today. I gave them a pretty hard time last week for limiting how many reports I type. They were really nice about it so today I wrote the owner and apologized. She understood and then told me what a great job I am doing !! I NEVER got told I was doing a good job at the place I just left - Only what I did WRONG.

It remains to be seen how much work there actually is around Christmas as transcription tends to die off then because of offices closing and such but I am staying where I am. I have NO SCHEDULED TIME that I have to be on.......Just whenever I want...As long as I make the lines I promised it is fine.

X-Mas: Thinking about you tonight. If they cant see how valuable you are at your placed of employment then they are idiots wrapped in morons !! IMHO..

Yesterday afternoon, after our walk, I got my first real smile from Missy and here it is!

Finally, last night I filled out an online form in hopes of becoming a volunteer with the Girl Scouts. I was a GS for 7 years when I was growing up and I would LOVE to help with the next generation. Keep your fingers crossed that I hear back from them! :yahoo:
