Christmas Countdown - 2012

It's been a nice & relaxing one for us. We went out for Mexican food last night, watched movies, went for a morning bike ride, and I did some online shopping. I bought a Halloween village piece that reminded me of my best friend, who got me into Fall, Halloween, and Christmas vintage decor. The piece has witches riding on their brooms, really cute & fun!

Harlowe is going to play w/ the neighbor dog in a little bit, it's still pretty hot here, about 103 :-? Hope she realizes how much I love her! lol

Then, later on, we'll watch America's Funniest Home Videos. If someone had told us 10 years ago how much we'd enjoy watching that show together, I would have thought they were crazy!

Sounds like you two (and Harlowe) had a SUPER weekend!!!

The first part of September is when I put my Halloween/Fall decorations out.....I have a ton of stuff I put on the mantle and a cool fiberoptic Jack O' Lantern and some other stuff I put on the entertainment center. I can't wait !! Christween (My combination of Christmas and Halloween) starts in 13 days !!!

I dont think I have much fall decorations and can use some tips!? =]
Here we decorate for Halloween just on Halloween..

And I bought a lot Halloween stuff in Chicago last year.
I still have a bag with candy (little pumkins) nobody liked...haha..

hopefully you can find something...how come the school makes you wait so long before you can apply for your classes? Here the students have everything lined up in January for September classes. (they can make some minor changes this time of the year if they need too) That really sucks, I hope you get it all worked out.

Thank you for such nice comments :] I swear, you guys sent the positive vibes my way because I received a great email about an hour or two ago! The woman I spoke to on the phone let me know that the head adviser of the business program checked out my degree audit and decided to put me into the classes that I wanted to get in. I am so very excited! :] They said that they never bend the rules but did just this one time because they know I can handle the work and because of the classes I took at my other college before I transferred. Thanks again for such nice comments!!

Christmasstar, through my actual campus we can schedule starting in March for the fall classes. We'll be able to schedule for the winter classes in October. The problem is that the classes I am trying to schedule today are through a separate branch of my school that is strictly online classes. They allow students from the other campuses to only start scheduling a week before classes start so that their full-time students can basically choose whatever they want to take.

Back to the old school grind this morning. Everyone running around like crazy, looking for shoes, waiting on the bathroom, etc. I was getting used to my routine of takingmy time & watching Netflix while I ate breakfast and got dressed. No more of that!

Good morning, MMC!

I was on the phone for 45 minutes attempting to schedule and it was a complete disaster. Apparently, half of the classes that I want are now "controlled" which means that people from different campuses are no longer allowed to take them. This is going to be a huge problem for me because now I'm going to have to take these classes, no matter the days of the week or the times, in the spring and next fall. As for the other classes I tried to get, everything was completely full. I just had no luck this morning, even though I was prepared with schedule numbers and everything.

Looks like I'll have a busy semester on campus.

It was so foggy out this morning that it almost looked like a whiteout from snow, I wish!

I hope you all have a fantastic Monday and start your week off right! At least it is only four days til Friday! :] Have a good one!!!!

Good afternoon, MMC!

Work is done for the day and I am so glad! There were so many interruptions it took me a lot longer than anticipated to do the data entry. Made's Tomato Sauce for Canning is bubbling away in the crock pot ~ smells good! It has cooked down an inch or so already. Still have an hour and a half to go and it will be ready to cool. I'm actually all caught up on my tomatoes now. Yay!

I have a lot to do yet, so I am going to get off the computer and get some house work done.

Good afternoon! What's everyone up to? Not much going on here. EA and I are relaxing and DS is napping.

My sister called me this morning and said, change of plans, she had to work 1-9 pm tonight. I won't be able to lay down before going to work, but at least I will have a siter when at work. (DH is working tonight too.) I had planned on making broccoli and cheese soup for dinner, but since it will be me just eating it, I decided to not do that. DH would have probably ate leftovers at some point, but oh well. DS isn't into the soups too much yet. When I asked EA what she wanted for dinner, of course she said, pizza. She wants to make one. I think that's her favorite food!

Well, enough of me just talking. I am going to catch up on the posts. I will check back in later. Hope you all have a wonderful evening. Hope all is well. God Bless!

good afternoon y'all! been hanging out doing a little bit here & there around the house today. daughter's 1st day was good but now she's out like a light-so tired. not used to getting up early. it' will come in time.

hubby took off this morning for Canada. seems to think if all goes well this time he will not have to travel @ all in September.yaaay!

didn't get a call from work this afternoon telling me to take tomorrow off so i guess that means we have work for tomorrow, that or someone else took it off. anyhoo

I am not feeling so well this morning. My allergies apparently are not allergies like I thought. My throat is hurting when I swallow on one side, so hopefully I am not coming down with a cold. I have a lot to do this week and next weekend so I really can't afford to be sick!

Finally, last night I filled out an online form in hopes of becoming a volunteer with the Girl Scouts. I was a GS for 7 years when I was growing up and I would LOVE to help with the next generation. Keep your fingers crossed that I hear back from them! :yahoo:

Well I don't really have a recipe anymore but here's what I do.

I fill my crockpot full of diced tomato's. (about 15 cups)

Sautee a large onion and 2 bell pepper's and dump them in

Dice up 4 cloves of roasted garlic and put it in

Then I add around 3 tbps of italian seasoning, 1/4 cup of sugar, Salt and Pepper

Cook on high 6 hours and then let cool

Freeze in 3 cup servings.

Then when I use it, I add a little tomato paste to thicken it up.

Thanks for the recipe! We're hoping to start a garden next year or so. This will come in very handy.
