By the time I get this posted, someone may have already asked; but what is a "zip line"? This is in reply to Snowflake's post.

AFAIK, a zip line is kinda how Kevin got from the second story of his house to the treehouse. It's a line strung between two high places, and you hold onto a thingie that rolls along the line to get you from point A to point B. (Someone who's actually been on one, pls correct me as needed!)

I had the chemo port and the breast expanders removed. I am on the mend!

*Cheers and applause*

Yesterday I ordered "A Christmas Carol" - the original with Alister Sim! I ordered the collectors edition with the Black & White & the color version. I'm pretty excited to get it! I have not been a big fan of this movie - I think maybe I was burned out on it in my younger years! But the last few years I have been "craving" to watch it, so here we go!

I have that edition---they have some extras, including info about how they restored the film for the DVD. Sim brings a bit of humor to Scrooge. He's a riot at the end after his transformation!

[film historian] I think the "original" was made in about 1908, and there were several other versions made before the 1950 version starring Sim---so there are more versions out there you can add to your collection! I recommend the 1935 British version starring Sir Seymour Hicks. More ghostly, rather like Dickens wrote it. [/film historian]

Umm, The angels don't have noses or mouths. Creepy!!

You are such a knowledgeable, good Christmas friend!!!

If you really do have to take out the entire dash, then yeah it probably would cost that much to take it somewhere. It's going to be extremely tedious work to open up the wiring harness and look for the bad wire. If your husband is a electrician though, he should be able to do it.

I would start by getting an aftermarket repair manual so you'll have access to the wiring diagrams. Then I would check and make sure that they have the wire for the light on the radio wired right since it's usually on the same circuit as the dash lights. If that checks out, I really wouldn't bother with tearing apart the wiring harness trying to find the short in the wire. I would just cut it at the fuse block, the gauges, and the radio and rewire it.

So glad you have employment for a while! Sorry that you have to miss the tournament.

Good afternoon everyone!

It's suppose to be a little humid out today - even right now - however, the NW breeze is keeping it quite comfortable in my apartment. I'm sure it will warm up in an hour or so.

I had my first physio appointment yesterday. It went quite well. The physiotherapist was impressed with my self-diagnosis and progress on rehabilitating my patellar tendonitis. If all goes well, I should only require one more appointment - next wednesday - and then I may be able to practice the following week. At least, I'm hopeful for then... although it would be a real setback to have the inflammation return. The real downfall? We have a tournament this weekend in Rockford, Illinois. It will be my first missed tournament of the year. Still, I'm sure the guys will do well without me!

In regards to employment, I received a great phone call yesterday. A former colleague at Health Canada is switching departments at the beginning of September and they require someone to replace him immediately. Seeing as I left with 31 (working) days on my contract, they want me to come in and work the rest of my days. Awesome! It's full time for September and then three days a week until the beginning of November. Then, I believe they want me to return for a new (90 working day) contract in January. Hopefully that works out! It's tough to find work here, so I'll take whatever they can give me. The pay is decent, too! Obviously, I will continue searching for another job while employed there as well. You can never be too safe.

Not much is happening today. I've continued my job search to see if I can get any bites. Otherwise, I do have practice to attend tonight. Then, I will return to watch the rest of the preseason Packers game. I really enjoy watching preseason football!

I hope everyone is ready for the weekend. Another 'Pines Day has completed and we're all looking forward to the weekend. A weekend that will celebrate the 2/3 to Christmas Day milestone! How fantastic and exciting!

Have a wonderful Thursday, everyone! I hope you are all well.

I remember having these feelings when the kids left home. For me, though, it got easier with each child.

Until I can figure out/ understand the MMC radio/ shoutcast item I'm having, I can talk about something else...

I wasn't here yesterday because it was my daughters first day at college. We packed her up and spent the day with her yesterday getting her set up in a dorm. Everything was fine until it was time to say goodbye, mannn, when I huged and kissed her and started to walk away, it hit me hard, like someone took a knife and cut out my heart.... It took all my strength, to hold back my emotions, my feeling and my tears....

She's the baby, and this is the very first time she has ever been away from us/ home. My wife was a mess, and still is. No matter what, as a parent, It's soooo hard to face reality and to let goooo! After I left, later on, she sent me a text message , thanking me for everything and she said she loved me and missed me.... That about did me in....and, is still getting to me, even as I type this!

I do realize that you have to let go a bit, but wow, I'm struggling here...

Perfect sense!

I'll take a whack at explaining. (Those who know better, pls correct anything I get wrong!)

Merry Christmas Radio (sometimes known in the Countdown as MCR for short) was originally hosted on Live365. About a year or two ago, a second MCR, known as MCR2, was launched on Shoutcast. (Shoutcast is the "host" of MCR2, the same as Live365 is the "host" of the original MCR---it's where the files that are broadcast go.) Early this year, Jeff and Jay made the decision to discontinue MCR on Live365, at least for the time being. So currently, the place to find MCR is to go to the Merry Forums homepage, scroll down, and look for the green player on the right-hand margin of the page. Click the Play button, and the stream will start. If you want to navigate away from that page but keep listening, click the symbol in the upper right-hand corner of the player, and it'll open in a new browser window. Above the player are links that will allow you to play the same stream on Windows Media Player, WinAmp (also works for iTunes), RealPlayer, and QuickTime.

I hope this makes even a little sense!

Hey y'all! How many times has "glitter" been said? I need to catch up on my drinking to get even with you guys!!!

So bummed I missed the party!!!!
:sparkle:

It was successful, Meceka. After surgery, we went to Office Depot. I stayed in the car, while Hubby went in. He returned quickly, and we then went to Hometown buffet for a late lunch/early dinner. We were home by 5:00 p.m., fed the cat, and then watched TV. Of course the meds helped!!!

Praying for a successful surgery!

Umm, all of this food is making me hungry. Can someone bring me some lunch?

So happy for your find and being able to make rent for 12 months!!! I hear you on the muscle thing. Right after surgery, the nurses want you to cough and breathe deeply. Talk about pain!!! But I was a good girl and did exactly what they said!

Good evening, MMC!

My goodness it was a long and hot day today! I left the house at 8 this morning to go to an estate sale and didn't get home until an hour or so ago. The estate sale is tomorrow ~ for some reason this week I have been a day ahead or a day behind every day. Anyhow, I ended up at a garage sale that I never would have gone to if the estate sale was open, and I found something for the store. It was a great price and I could make enough from it to make rent for the next 12 months - yay! So glad to be home, though. My back is still very sore ~ it is almost impossible for me to not lift my arm and stretch. I never realized how much I do that in the course of a day. Needless to say, it takes a lot longer to heal when I keep moving the muscle.

I have a lot to do yet tonight, including a few hours of work so I had best get going.

Have a MERRY evening!

:sparkle:

I guess when I get home from work thjs afternoon I better watch QVC while I make Zucchini Cobbler!!

Looking at a few post from last night, Made, Caninemom, Binger and a few others should be very sparkly from all the Glitter Drinks you had!

Thank you, CAH; it did go well. Having the infusion the day before really helped. I can't remember if I posted or not that I saved $30 on this infusion. They've given a discount each time!

Praying, Xmas365. Sorry to hear.

Seawaters, praying for all to go smoothly! I know it will!
