Right back at you, Christmas soul-sister!

Just got back from the Mall and boy are my eyes sore. Yup - not an abundance, but Christmas items are popping up here and there enough to turn my head once or twice.

Not permitted to shop with my husband anymore. He can't handle how everything I see could be "the perfect gift" for someone on our list.

Tis the season to eat apples - yummy yum yum! Ontario apples are soooo good this time of year. I start eating them in September and they're good until mid-November and then it doesn't really matter where they come from.

I was twelve when I whipped up my first batch of homemade applesauce. I also remember the first carmel apples I made a few months later. They taste great just by themselves. My dad used to eat them with a salt shaker in hand and a steak knife to peel them and a slice of cheese on the side.

Do children still give apples to their teachers? I usually ate the apple before it made it to the desk.
im ateaching assistant and the kids bring in all sorts of gifts including bottles of wine!!!
but never apples

I hear apples are very good for inducing sleep... therefore... I suspect Crown lives in an orchard...

badda bing .......badda binger.....

Hey Michigan yabba.... beautoful day here... temps in low 70s.. plenty to do- wine efstival- art show... hmmmmmm... sit and merely drink java while everyone else sips merlot and buys pictures.... yabbba baby!!!

:-? I could never sleep after eating an apple - sugar rush. However, Crown is a different sort - likely would dream about sleeping in an orchard while visions of mattresses dance in their heads.

Nice and sunny here today - the rain has stopped. It's around 70F out there.

Silla gets wine instead of apples? Must be more grape orchards than apple orchards where you dwell. Haha.

afternoon just back from town with daughter its lovely to see all the xmas displays in the shops

son thinks im mad going on about xmas in october!!!! im so glad i can come here and indulge in peace

Hmmm.... I picture a hammock slung between 2 apple trees. I am relaxing in it while I watch Binger furiously grinding coffee beans with an old fashioned coffee grinder. The wind gently blows through the shispering orchard. I drift off to sleep. In my dreams, Binger comes to me with a platter of fired twinkies. Ah!.............

23 days to the Season.
65 days to Christmas Day.

Another beautiful day!
The temp is at 63. A bit cool, but seasonal for October.
It's just starting to really get me into the Holiday mood.
Had a nice return visit to the State Fair with my father yesterday. Nice day for it. Lots of sun with the temp in the mid 70's.

Have a Super Sunday, friends, and a wonderous rest of the weekend.

(Will try to get out to Crabtree this afternoon, snap some Christmas photos and post them early next week.)

I'm feeling you!

I know what you mean. I received one of Amy Grant's Christmas cds in the mail yesterday and I was playing it last night when I picked my mom up for a movie. She thought I was off my rocker!:wiggy:

I don't know about apples inducing sleep...I think it was the Guinness Stout I had WITH the apples for lunch that put me out like a light. Think I'll go open another one and see.

It is SOOOO windy here, I swear...(and I rubbed my eyes twice not believing.)..I swear I saw Dorothy's Kansas farm house go flying through the air...or was that one of the striped sox of the wicked witch of the west???

Sila, you will feel right at home here with all of us, we are just plain nuts and freely admit it. Ever heard shispering pines? Ever ate a fried twinkie?

I've had some (not all) of a fried twinkie, I do believe. It was at the Kiss Coffeehouse at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Shispering pines, on the other hand, lol

Went shopping with mom today. Got some more Christmas presents. I'm a shopping!! Got several wrapped and gotta wrap the ones I got today and a couple in the spare room hubby bought for his mom.

Hey Jay,

How hard is the South Beach Diet--is it worse than Atkins? I did Atkins a few years ago and it was h@#%! I lost 30 lbs in less than a month, but ended up gaining back double since I was on it. How quick did you lose 35 lbs?:hello:

morning back at work today
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
i tried atkins too
it works but i got very dehydrated on it
and to be honest i love my carbs!!!!
think ill try to cut out the rubbish till xmas id like to lose a stone

22 days to the Season.
64 days to Christmas Day.

Good Morning, guys!
I hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready to move yet another week close to that certain Season that has us all here.

It was 58 degrees for the morning commute.
Highs predicted in the low 80's with low humidity.
About as good as you can expect around here for this time of the year.

I got out to Crabtree and took some Christmas photos yesterday! Will try to post them as soon as I get the opportunity.
The main mall decorations are already being put up (same ones as last year but they are good ones) but are not yet lit. More and more of the stores are getting out Christmas merchandise and decorations.
Yes, sir it is definitely getting to THAT time of the year again!

Have a Marvelous Monday, everyone!

Miller,

I lost the weight over the course of about three months. The reason the diet is hard is that there is ALOT of preparation involved, plus I LOVE sweets...And there are none of them allowed at all during the first two weeks, limited during the second two weeks and then small amounts during the third two weeks...I lose weight fairly easily...It took about three years for me to gain it back...But with Christmas so close now, it'll be tough to stick to it with everyone bringing Christmas cookies, etc. to the office...

Happy Monday my friends...It's getting to the time when I'lll leave home in the morning in the dark, and get back home at night in the dark...I'll only see my yard in the daylight on weekends...

Good morning. A wonderful & yucky high of 55 & lw 53, yucky because it is supposed to rain till Wednesday.

Hay Jay! Good for you, power on!! Most people wait until after the holidays to start self-improvement, I say whenever you feel yourself slipping off, jump right back on the horse and ride...ride baby, RIDE! You'll feel so much better about yourself Jayster. Or you could do the Crown diet, sleep most of the time...or the Bing diet, "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead" drink coffee non-stop. Or, try them both together...sleep/cofffee/sleep/coffee...the Ying and Yang of it all...ohhhhhh yabba.

Wow, BRUCE twice in one month? Wowser!

Got some good pics there Crown? Can't wait to view them....

Have a Monday everyone, and btw, does anyone know where I can purchase extra large coffee beans?

Yeah! It's kind of hard to eat (or drink coffee) when you are asleep. I wouldn't reccommend it anyway!
