Not too sure if anyone has noticed this yet but the Countdown thread just passed last year's total....and it's not even Halloween! Thanks for another record-breaking experience here in the countdown!

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's going to be a quiet day. We three in the engineering group are in an office trailer outside the main office. Both of the other guys are out today, so it's just me. I'm going to fire up my Mulled Cider candle, and crank up the music. I might even slip in a little Micheal Buble.

Good afternoon all you merry people!! :grin:

My work week is done! I am home, I have chili simmering on the stove, I'm watching it rain! Thinking about turning on some Christmas music!! Right now I have food network on. As I was making chili I was not really paying attention to the tv, but all the sudden I hear the word "GLITTER" - I had to do a double take wondering when I changed the channel to QVC! HA!!! Food Network is talking glitter too!!! :lol:

I'll be heading out in a few hours for our last weekend at the lake til April. It's such a bummer that the forcast is not better. Tonight we will probalby go to the little tavern up the road from our landing - like we do so many Friday nights - & get something yummy to eat (I LOVE their jalapeno bottlecaps : ) & we'll hear about everyone's week. It's one of my favorite nights of the week! Tomorrow is the chili dump, Buckeyes play at 5:30 & Sunday we close up! It's always sad to say goodbye to the people we have seen (almost) every weekend for 7 months. But we keep in touch with most of them through the winter! AND we have the HOLIDAYS to look forward too!

We had a great time at my friends last night - warm spiced wine, working on our afghans, (sounds like a bunch of 'ol ladies, huh...lol) It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, You're Not Elected Charlie Brown & Garfield Halloween. How could it be bad?? Ha ha! I got quite a bit done on the afghan. I'm getting excited about it - I think my friend will love it! (I hope)

Thinking about everyone who is possibly in the path of Sandy! Yes, it worries me & I'm glad to hear you all are preparing for it! I'll keep hoping & praying it turns back to sea! We now have *snow* forcasted for Tuesday here! I'm pretty excited about that!!!

The forecast I listened to this morning said right now we are looking at extremely windy conditions and some rain from the upcoming storm. I, too, am praying for the folks at risk from this storm!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a chilly and rainy day here in Central Indy. We already hit our high of 50 at midnight and it looks like we will be stuck in the mid 40's most of the afternoon. I have a lot of running to do today. My sister is in charge of a halloween party for 70 girl scouts tomorrow and since she still isn't allowed to lift anything heavy, I got volunteered to help. Fun. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

Good afternoon, MMC!

Just got back from BC a little while ago ~ found a few things for the store, but nothing major. There weren't any estate sales posted and that is usually where the good items are. Gas was only $3.08 a gallon, though, so that was well worth going so far. It is still $3.37 in my hometown ~ they are always so much higher than other places it is a wonder any of the stations are able to stay in business.

Got the following email (sent globally to State employees) today! I guess we are just plain insensitive in ‘Bama! We still celebrate Christmas!

(In fact Alabama was the first state in the Union to officially recognize Christmas as an official holiday; offending others by saying "Merry Christmas” since 1836! That would make a cool t-shirt and/or bumper sticker.)

In addition to the magnificent tree on the Capitol steps, the rotunda will be festive with brightly lit trees and ornaments. In honor of the dedicated employees who serve the people of Alabama, we invite you and your staff members to contribute ornaments to adorn the tree in the Capitol rotunda this year. This is strictly a voluntary opportunity to be a part of the Capitol’s Christmas celebration.

Ornaments appropriate to the Christmas season are welcome and should be delivered to the Capitol - north wing security desk by November 15th. We hope everyone will visit the Capitol during the holiday season to view the trees and enjoy their contributions. Please note that ornaments will not be returned. VERY busy day today, everyone seems to be taking heed and prepping for Sandy. I have butterflies in my stomach over this thing, especially with the possibility of losing power for days. We just went through that last year at this same time of year, where the power went out on a Saturday night and didn't come back until Thursday evening. I really don't want to miss the beginning of Christmas music on Music Choice for the second year in a row. cheesy I hope all of our friends in the path of Sandy stay safe over the next few days.

hubby comes home today & i'm so excited!

daughter has a big test today she's been worried about. hope she does well on it.

my son Seth started a few new classes this 8 weeks. golf & basketball you would think are easy & they are it's just he's very stiff after playing almost 3 hours of b-ball the 1st day. i told him he's out of shape from high school. now he believes me, lol.

Will has had a cough for about 1 month now. it scares me because that was the 1st sign of his illness in the beginning. he said this is a dry cough, unlike before, & he thinks it's allergies. i sure hope so. he has an appt. w/ his doc the 1st part of december but i told him he may have to call & get it moved closer.

my body is screaming...can ya' hear it? hehehe just tired.

how's everyone? got any plans this weekend? we are going to my aunt & uncle's tomorrow for a cook out. we always have the best time there. lots of family come & friends, it's great!
