Not too sure if anyone has noticed this yet but the Countdown thread just passed last year's total....and it's not even Halloween! Thanks for another record-breaking experience here in the countdown!

Jeff

Jeff we are super excited it was Holiday who hit the magic mark she posted the 31090 post that pushed us past last years mark

Happy Friday

Hello everyone. I hope all of you on the path of "Frankenstorm" are safe!
Even though Halloween isn't until Wednesday, it starts this weekend for us! We usually don't fill up the schedule, but there are so many Halloween events the kids want to do. And hey, you're only young once, so we figure let 'em have all the fun they want. So, it's a holiday weekend for me, and the activities pretty much go until Wednesday evening with the official trick-or-treating ending it all.
Just realized that once Halloween passes it will be only THREE WEEKS until Thanksgiving! It's an early one this year! One of my favorite days of the year, and I can't wait!
Hope you all have a fun, safe, and blessed weekend!

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's going to be a quiet day. We three in the engineering group are in an office trailer outside the main office. Both of the other guys are out today, so it's just me. I'm going to fire up my Mulled Cider candle, and crank up the music. I might even slip in a little Micheal Buble.

♫♪ It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go...♪♫

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Hi all... Well, we decided... Hiking first and the off to Sleepy Hollow, just have to get in our Headless Horseman fix!!! Halloween party tonight, rock on with your bad self for sure!!! Making some craft snowmen next week with the youth group, have to run to Michael's or Joanne's to get some supplies. Going to Home Depot to get some icicle lights for the entry way and some red bows for the new bushes that were put in by my condo. A lot to do now that we only have 59 day until Christmas... I think this coming week we will go though the Cookie Recipes and we always add one new one each year so I am looking forward to that!!!

:???:

We battened down the "loose" ends preparing for Sandy, I have some Halloween stuff still up as it nears I may take them down it all depends on the outcome. I'll be keeping you all in my thoughts and prays and hoping Sandy isn't as bad as she can be!

:o

EVERYWHERE YOU GO.... THERE'S A :tree: IN THE GRAND HOTEL

Sandy is not even close to Georgia, and still we're overcast and windy here near Savannah.

As advertised, SANDY will be a big wind event for us, with marine threats through Sunday.

A tropical storm watch has been issued for near and offshore waters along the Georgia and South Carolina coast. A watch means that tropical storm conditions (winds from 39-74 mph) are possible in the next 48 hours. Small craft advisory continues through Sunday. Inland areas are NOT included in this watch.

In fact, Hurricane SANDY is expected to remain well offshore as it passes Friday and Saturday paralleling our coastline. People with marine and water interests need to be prepared for high surf, dangerous rip currents, and beach erosion. Swimmers and boaters need to take extra caution. --

Praying for you folks who will be at risk from this storm.

A perfect-sounding day!!!

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is less than 50 degrees here in northern California and feeling downright nippy! Thank goodness today is Friday, and I will be free from radiation treatment after today until Monday! I am trying to get grades done for report cards, so a lot of my time is spent putting the scores on our new electronic report card. First I have to enter it into our new electronic gradebook. It is such a chore when they don't give you any training--always hit and miss! Oh, well, retirement is somewhere in my future and then I can kiss those report cards good by!!! I hope those of you in the path of Frankenstorm will feel little effects. When I was growning up in NC, we would always have cloudy, rainy, cold weather when hurricanes hit the coast. When I was an adult, Hugo came inland as far as Gaston County!!! That was certainly something! Not sure if any of you remember that one! Take care, all.

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a chilly and rainy day here in Central Indy. We already hit our high of 50 at midnight and it looks like we will be stuck in the mid 40's most of the afternoon. I have a lot of running to do today. My sister is in charge of a halloween party for 70 girl scouts tomorrow and since she still isn't allowed to lift anything heavy, I got volunteered to help. Fun. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, we noticed alright.
It's just that record breaking years are getting to be routine around here!

Hello. I hope you're feeling good and have a good weekend! I can kind of relate to your post...my wife is a teacher (although she's gone back to get her Masters currently...switching over to library sciences). I've heard of the electronic grade books! My wife has only been teaching for about ten years now, but a lot has changed just in that decade! In the early 2000s when she started it was still the older model. Now it's all different I guess. I hope it goes good entering grades! Enjoy the weekend.

I just noticed that we broke 10,000 members last night. Wow. Can you imagine if all of them where active in the countdown thread. Talk about blowing away records.

Wow I am watching about the election and it looks like a key state is Ohio, wow CM3 and Holiday have you seen either candidate? They were in my neck of the woods during there debate at Hofstra.

No we haven't. Some of our neighbors went to see Romney a couple weeks ago. He was about 20 miles from here. Ryan will be about 12 miles from her on Sunday. The Obama campaign hasn't been concentrating on the small towns in our area. If we go to any it would be Sunday, but it's not likely as we will be closing things up at the lake! :(

OMG!!!! If they all were and everyone posted just once a day here could you just image what our total would be!!!!!

That is so cool, I tried to hang around to see anything when the debate came in but no luck all I saw were news vans!!! I hoped maybe they would both hang around but no luck there either, bummer that has to be cool to see them up close.:-)
