Not too sure if anyone has noticed this yet but the Countdown thread just passed last year's total....and it's not even Halloween! Thanks for another record-breaking experience here in the countdown!

Wow, could we hit 40,000 posts before the end of the year?

As advertised, SANDY will be a big wind event for us, with marine threats through Sunday.
A tropical storm watch has been issued for near and offshore waters along the Georgia and South Carolina coast. A watch means that tropical storm conditions (winds from 39-74 mph) are possible in the next 48 hours. Small craft advisory continues through Sunday. Inland areas are NOT included in this watch.
In fact, Hurricane SANDY is expected to remain well offshore as it passes Friday and Saturday paralleling our coastline. People with marine and water interests need to be prepared for high surf, dangerous rip currents, and beach erosion. Swimmers and boaters need to take extra caution. --
Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!
It's going to be a quiet day. We three in the engineering group are in an office trailer outside the main office. Both of the other guys are out today, so it's just me. I'm going to fire up my Mulled Cider candle, and crank up the music. I might even slip in a little Micheal Buble.

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is less than 50 degrees here in northern California and feeling downright nippy! Thank goodness today is Friday, and I will be free from radiation treatment after today until Monday! I am trying to get grades done for report cards, so a lot of my time is spent putting the scores on our new electronic report card. First I have to enter it into our new electronic gradebook. It is such a chore when they don't give you any training--always hit and miss! Oh, well, retirement is somewhere in my future and then I can kiss those report cards good by!!! I hope those of you in the path of Frankenstorm will feel little effects. When I was growning up in NC, we would always have cloudy, rainy, cold weather when hurricanes hit the coast. When I was an adult, Hugo came inland as far as Gaston County!!! That was certainly something! Not sure if any of you remember that one! Take care, all.
Wow I am watching about the election and it looks like a key state is Ohio, wow CM3 and Holiday have you seen either candidate? They were in my neck of the woods during there debate at Hofstra.
I just noticed that we broke 10,000 members last night. Wow. Can you imagine if all of them where active in the countdown thread. Talk about blowing away records.
No we haven't. Some of our neighbors went to see Romney a couple weeks ago. He was about 20 miles from here. Ryan will be about 12 miles from her on Sunday. The Obama campaign hasn't been concentrating on the small towns in our area. If we go to any it would be Sunday, but it's not likely as we will be closing things up at the lake!![]()
