Christmas Countdown - 2012

I get choked up every time I decorate the tree or put the ornaments away. I have a small tree, so nearly every ornament has a memory or a story attached to it. So decorating the tree is an emotional experience. I'll probably be decorating the tree on Friday ... I'm taking off Friday and next Monday for decorating, wrapping, cards, packages, etc. I'll probably put a little tree in the TV room again this year, too.

Back to work tomorrow ... But I'll be decorating my desk and putting the Rudolph characters in my toy barn. I got a little Christmas tree to put in the barn with them this year, and the Bumble Snow Monster stands on the roof. Tomorrow looks like a busy workday. A big brochure is coming back through tomorrow. But I'll check in at some point. Gotta get some Christmas in my day!

Oh My Gosh, !! I never realized you love Rudoph too !!! Rudolph is my hero !!! I can remember watching that special when I was a little girl and I love it today as much as then. (((HUGS))) xo

thanks merry yes it was saturday and was real hard work from 7am to 6pm slept for nealy 2 days lol sorry had to laugh at the "city wide event.. i live in a wee town with about 4000 ppl the councl say its was a village because it has less than 5000ppl
I wll enjoy doing the decor if i ever get at it have been down in the shop most of the morning as the gifts are going like crazy so had to add more

Blah, I am still sick!!! I am so congested - especially in my throat and my ears feel clogged. I have been sick for three days now. No fun since I have to go back to college tomorrow.

Good morning everyone! What a busy awesome time of year! My friend came down this weekend. I haven't seen him for a year. Well what a awesome weekend too! The Hyde Park Santa Claus parade was on Saturday at 11am. He got to see that. As well it started snowing! Snowed for the weekend. We also watched The Santa Clause, A Christmas Story 2 and Polar Express. Holy Christmas! I loved it. He is a big Christmas fan too. It was a very good turn out for the parade too. But its monday again. 3 more weeks until MY Christmas Vacation. I cant wait. It wont come fast enough. Neighbors have put up lights now too. Those slow pokes hah! Well back to my coffee and bacon. Good morning Christmas family !!

I am temporarily out of work so thought I would come here and say good morning. It is cold this morning. Not complaning but just brrrrrrr !!!! I am glad, actually. Not really a lot going on, just waiting for the doctors to get themselves going this morning.

Have a wonderful, Christmassy day dear family xo My little Lily has just jumped up beside me wanting some love. She is such a sweet little thing. A few mornings ago, the day before Thanksgiving in fact, I was having a reaction I think to the pain medication I now take. Fainting spell and everything else you can imagine and through it all my Lily made it know that she was with me. At one point when I was blacking out, she reached her little paw out and touched my fingers and kept it there as if to hold my hand. I am so blessed to have such a sweet little tuxedo child but then they are all sweet.

Good evening, Christmas family


I am sitting in front of the fire with Hallmark on. A new movied called Hitched for The Holidays. So far it is kinda good.

We finally got some more decorating done today. I always do the tree myself but I need help with everything else. Yesterday was really frustrating because my other half just doesn't get Christmas sometimes. I know not everyone can be a Christmas nut like me but it is just difficult. Anyway, we got our Nativity scene put in the window today and just have to rehang the garland in the bay
window in my office room.

Clancy, Wish, Hermione, Smokey and Lily are all doing fine. I am a little concerned about Clancy's toe - So far it doesn't seem the antibiotics are doing all that much. If we have to we will take her back to the doctor. Wish seems to be a little more short of breath than usual too. He just seems to be getting so old. I hug him to pieces sometimes and tell him I love him. I guess it is all I can do. I just hope he understands.

For some reason, I am missing my family members who are gone this year more than in past years, especially my mother. There must be something wrong with me....:-?

Oh, CM3, I know what you are going through! I, too, am missing a lot of family this year, esp. my parents. I find I am quite sad at times and it is hard to hold back the tears. For me, the empty spot where Bo used to lay does not help ~ his blankets are still there as I haven't been able to make myself take care of them yet. When I feel "on the brink of tears" I think of something else or put on happy music ~ it really does help!

I hope Clancy is doing better ~ could she have an ingrown nail? Trapper, one of my dear departed fur kids, had an ingrown dew claw (I think it was called). I noticed it because he was licking at his paw almost constantly.

I fixed paella for dinner and I am exhausted! I think it is time for a glass of wine and some TV. CM3, no, there is nothing wrong with you! I took some cough syrup thinking that would help with the tickle/scratchiness in my throat but it did nothing. I took a nasal decongestant and that did very little. And throughout the day I take ibuprofen to help with the throat soreness.

Have you tried gargling with warm salt water? Drinking tea, preferably green, with honey and lemon will keep you hydrated and will sooth your throat, too. I use a saline spray, too. A friend's husband is a doctor and that was what he recommended ~ works great when you follow the instructions!

Good Evening MMC!!!!! It's been a busy weekend around here. Even with 5 of us having bronchitis. I had been feeling pretty good but I'm coughing a lot more tonight. I guess I shouldn't have went with the cheaper cough syrup. So right now I'm going to kick back and enjoy the Celtic Thunder Christmas Show that is getting ready to come on PBS here. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

had a gorgeous weekend. yesterday i went to my local church christmas fair and my daughter met santa, she loved it! after that our local village held it's annual christmas tree light switch on and then we ate fish and chips, very british :wink:

today, we went to church, then came home and watched arthur christmas with my "glistening snow" christmas candle flickering in the background.

tomorrow i am having a day of christmas shopping with my mum, daughter and sister. we are also visiting santa and may stop off for a mulled wine :grin:

i am loving the build up more than ever and NEVER want it to end!

i got the keys to my beautiful dream family home on friday (well, as dreamy as it could get with my budget!) so i am about to start moving. wish me luck! i am dreading how stressful it will be, but i'm hoping with all the christmas cheer around me at the minute i won't let it bother me too much.

Good morning everyone!

I was away from MMC all weekend. I missed it. It was somewhat of a busy weekend. Kim was out of town, but I had plenty of happenings. Friday night was quiet. Saturday was extremely busy. I attended the wedding shower of two very good friends. It was a blast. I was there from about 11 AM until 5 PM. A long time! My roommate Mike and I had plans for the evening, so I had to rush home then. I was busy for the rest of the night.

Yesterday was quiet. Kim returned home in the evening and we watched the Packers get destroyed by the Giants. They definitely did not deserve to win that one. Unfortunately, there wasn't much Christmas related events on the weekend. But, that's OK. Kim would have been upset if I had partaken in any Christmas related activities without her. Hopefully there will not be many non-Christmas related plans for the upcoming week so that we can go to Parliament and witness this Season's debut of the Christmas lights!

Oh! I almost forgot. I woke up to a beautiful fresh coat of snow this morning. It was great to see it covering the ground for the first time of the year. It more than likely will not be around too long, but it is a sign to come. Another sign is that I wore a coat for the first time this year. -10c will do that to you, I guess.

Well, I hope everyone continues to enjoy their Christmas Season. The rest of the world seems to be overcome with Christmas Spirit, too. It is gaining momentum and should be at full steam by the end of the week!

Anyway, I hope everyone has an OK Monday. Returning to work is never fun. However, at least we have the Season to make the days flight by... although I wish some times would go slow this time of year. Merry Christmas, everyone!

Plenty of hot tea with honey and lemon is my go-to remedy for a sore or scratchy throat---best of all is lemon-ginger herbal tea with honey and lemon juice. Follow Meceka's advice and you'll be feeling better soon---take care!

It was one of the Big Events of my annual TV viewing when I was little---the others were "The Wizard of Oz" and "Cinderella" (the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical version). You youngsters don't know what it was like to wait to see "Rudolph" only once a year!

I'm here at the office with my lighted desktop tree to my left and my toy barn full of Rudolph characters to my right, and my little Merry Christmas pin on my sweater. I'm the only one who decorates around here, but someone always tells me how much they enjoy seeing my tree this time of year.

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's a chilly morning out there but I'm nice and warm here inside my apartment. It looks like we will top out around 40 today and then a wintry mix will move in overnight tonight. I think my cough is a little better this morning but it's definitely still there. I was kind of hoping that it would magically disappear overnight since I took the last of my zpak before I went to bed. I have a lot of cleaning to do today. There are bags everywhere from my shopping trips and the dishes haven't been done in a couple of days. My Christmas tree is also sitting here undecorated so I want to get that done today. Gee, good thing I have you guys! I called my doctor's office to get an appointment because I feel awful and the woman working at the office told me she was "sorry to hear" but could get me in on Friday at the soonest. Like that helps!
