It seems to describe my cats. cheesy

Good afternoon,

My belated birthday dinner/lunch went well, I made my special recipe of Italian sausage and peppers over pasta based on an old Olive Garden dish. I ended up watching the Seahawks vs Falcons game, because my father-in-law wanted to watch the game, it was exciting but like I have said, football is done for me once the Bengals are done. I am not watching the Patriots game, but Happiness is A Warm blanket Charlie Brown recording from December, loving the Christmas commercials. Looking forward to the Bruins starting on Saturday night.

enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
you did not mention a cake, so here is one for you...

my arm pain is finally going away, what a relief! I think my doctor is right, it is work related. I will see if it starts up again when I go back again on Tuesday.

My Italian Nana used to say about pain, "like it comes...it goes". In other words, sometimes, thank goodness, pain can be so annoying and debilitating and then blissfully, you wake up one day and it's gone.
I hope your arm pain takes a hike!

It sounds like the perfect way to celebrate on such a drab weather day !!! Have a wonderful time !!

We did!

It would be great to have the promising kids, but I have to tell you that I get an absolute thrill when I connect with a kid that others have given up on. I have 14 challenges this year (three moved away--put into another teacher's class by parent demand).

By "promising," I meant to include those who have potential that only the good teachers see and build upon. Without teachers like you, their gifts may never be given to the world, because a good teacher needs to help them to reveal those gifts.

Let us know what you receive and which movie you watch. Have a great afternoon, MC!!!

I got a gift card for the Vermont Country Store. The movies we watched would leave you saying "huh?!" We watched a Columbia short comedy starring Smith & Dale, and a few Vitaphone short subjects starring vaudeville/Broadway stars of the 1920s, both on the video projector. (I bet you'd love Trixie Friganza!) Our friend brought along a recording that was made by Capitol Records as a Christmas greeting to record shop owners---a seven-minute audio sketch with Baby Snooks (Fanny Brice) and Daddy (Hanley Stafford), plus Sylvester the Cat and Tweetie Pie (Mel Blanc). So we got to hear Sylvester and Tweetie sing "Jingle Bells"!

Re Trixie Friganza---here she is on YouTube. This isn't the one we watched today, but it'll give you an idea of what she was like.

And with this post, Merry Carey is poster #1000. For her efforts, she wins a used movie stub. Let's hear it for MC!!!

Oh, goodie! You know I love used movies!

Oh, you mean the STUB is used, not the movie ... [Goes back downstairs to the screening room]

With this post, CAH is poster # 2000. For her efforts, she wins a monthly reminder that she has Christmas cookie cutters!!! I think I will let the reminderer be Brad Pitt, unless you want it to be me!!!
Ha ha! Really it would be just fine if you would remind me. Brad Pitt is not a member here so I would never see his signature with that reminder! cheesy

You could add to your reminder that I bought the all my grandchildren Santa Hats. I bought them yesterday on clearance for 30 cents each! Why I need a reminder is because I bought Wayne and I Santa Hats 2 years ago (2010) at a Christmas clearance and forgot about them last year (2011), found them in a box AFTER Christmas so they never got worn. I finally got them out this year (2012) to wear! I certainly don't want to forget I bought the kids these hats for 2013! =)

Made, cheer on the Pats next week!!! That will be a fun game. My son in law and daughter the Pats fan and Wayne the Ravens fan. I will have to stay on Wayne's side this time around! My son in law, Wayne, my daughter and I have already been bantering back and forth. Fun times!!!! :snowball:

This was so funny. I loved the spelling part and the Lula part. When my son called just before Christmas, I asked him what he got his girlfriend. He said, "I can't tell you because Melissa's here." I countered with, "Spell it." I thought he was going to spit out his soda! We got a good laugh out of that. I love the
Vermont Country Store. That's where I bought Hubby's videos for one of his Christmas gifts. I do know Baby Snooks and Mel Blanc. Have you ever heard Elmer Fudd singing I'll Have a Blue Christmas Without You"? My youngest son, the one who likes old movies and opera, could not stop laughing when he first heard it. I am glad you guys had a great day. It is always so neat to get together with old friends. Thanks for sharing your day with us and for taking the time to introduce us to some more American culture!

I always try to find something about each student that I can capitalize on. Very seldom is it difficult, and it is ALWAYS worth it!
