YABBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA OHHHHHHHHHH mr. Isherwood...

I know by sight those tasked to brew the beans,
Baristas young and pert who blend and grind
And pull strong shots from sleek, gleaming machines;
I put my trust in them to clear my mind.
Their pleasant banter pierces morning haze;
Caffeine induced, I’m sure, but I don’t care.
Undaunted by my sullen, grumpy daze,
They serve my cup of joe without despair.
It shames me now to think that this first draught
Is what I need to greet the day with joy,
That change is all I have to praise their craft,
That their spirit is what I should employ.
I sit. This simple mug, it should affect
A calm to pause, to think, and to reflect.

Is there anything in particular that you've been looking for? I know you love Shiny Brite ornaments.

There's a gift shop & garden center here called Down To Earth that I first visited back in November when I was house hunting. It had so many neat vintage Christmas items! I know I'll go back again this year @ the beginning of the season. I can keep an eye out on things for you

My sister came to visit recently, and brought a Christmas tote of mine =]

This Santa has been in my family ever since I can remember. My Mom said she & Dad are ready to start downsizing, and asked us if there's anything that we wanted that had sentimental value...I asked her for this guy and she couldn't find him for a few years. I was ecstatic when she did!!

He brings back so many childhood Christmases.

I just keep an eye out for things that jog my memory, hence why my tree is covered in C7 lights and bubble lights. I don't remember too much of the ornaments, but I know my favorite one from my childhood I broke when I was 10-ish? It looked like these:

We also had some big wax covered ornaments that had Christmassy scenes all over them, they looked similar to this:

We never used them because they were so heavy on the tree.

It keeps me busy. One of the reasons I want to own a Christmas store.

Those ornaments are just beautiful ! xo

Thanks! We've had some heavy thunder storms so far in my neck of the woods in Oklahoma, but nothing too bad yet. My wife gets very nervous as her house blew away during a record breaking tornado we had in May of '99 (before we were married). Anyway, since then, she keeps an eye on the weather.

started work on a cake that is not due for awhile but has so many parts for the decorations I know this is going to take awhile to do. Going to have a barn, mini van, horses, trees, work bench with man sawing wood, coffee mug (no it is not for binger! sorry) and a lot of other little things.

Also, just found out that the store I applied at is doing reference checks on me!!! Yeah, that means I most likely will make it to the next round of interviews. This will be nice as it is closer and will not be as hard on this old bod to stand and do cashier stuff instead of what I am doing now.

That is great, what a beautiful Santa.

I wish I had some of my childhood Christmas stuff. It was all lost years ago between all the moves we did. I guess that is why I try to find old stuff that brings back some memories and why that Time/Life commercial means so much to me.
