Christmas Countdown - 2013

forecast says we´ll have a little bitty snow come friday....maybe.....doesn´t matter.....just the thought of it made my heart beat faster

Good evening, everyone. How are you all? I am well. Just watching Hallmark (I know, what's new!), but this time of the year, if I'm home, the kids and I love watching Christmas movies. We'll be eating pizza and making popcorn here a little later.

What is everyone's else plans here later on? DH is at work and I'm off tonight (YAHHH!), so my sister plans on coming in and we're going to try to get some Christmas gifts wrapped. It's supposed to start getting windy here late tonight as well and storming, so hopefully we don't lose power, but we'll see.

For everyone if line of storms, I'm praying for you! Keep us all updated on your safety. We all want to know.

After rumbles off in the distance the storm has finally arrived. It looks pretty nasty on radar, but hopefully it breaks up a lot. I'll check in later if I still have phone service.

Made, be safe!

From the way the storm is tracking I think the worst of it is going to be NW of me. Lots of rain and wind right now, not a whole lot of thunder and lightning any more. Severe thunderstorm warning until 6:15. Palmer is no longer hiding - that is usually a good indication that things aren't too bad out there.

The storm is over - yay! I was a bit worried that we could have flooding with the way train was coming down but, the storm moved through very quickly - so all is good. I have to set a few things out for tomorrow but the rest of the night I am going to read. I am in the midst of "The Distant Hours" by Kate Morton. I have to finish this soon so I can start with some Christmas book reading!

I told Wayne the way people grumble about Christmas starting so early it might not be as crowded as it has been in the past since they are lighting the tree nearly 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. Those people who gripe must be very few and very loud (making us believe there is a lot) because there were thousands of people out in there in the Christmas spirit!

While out there Wayne and I participated in a game with a local radio station. Wayne won and I figured it would be a t-shirt. Nope! They gave us a pair of front row tickets to an upcoming Christmas parade!

Here is a picture of the store front of Neiman Marcus in Downtown Dallas. This picture does not do it justice. The lights twinkle so in the picture it appears that some of the lights are burned out, kinda hard to get the picture with them all lit! It's very impressive walking up on it!

I heard a few of those miserable scrooges complaining about the decorations at Rite Aid today. Walking by me they were saying "Christmas already, tskaahhh!"
