Beautiful picture! Hope the 1st day back to school goes well!!! xx

Good afternoon,

I was watching White Christmas, but the Bengals game is now on, so I made the switch to the game.
I did watch Frosty this morning, I couldn't go back to work without seeing that one before the season is over. I have come to terms there will be many I won't see unfortunately, including Miracle on 34th Street. I still may try to get that one in still. My wife and I cannot wait, Galavant returns tonight for its second season. We both love that show.
The PCB's are biting me today, with work looming tomorrow. My decorations and trees are still up, I will wear my Christmas shirts through January, I just need to remind myself it isn't truly over yet.
I hope you all have a good day.
I switched from the Browns to the Bengals a few times today. I was happy to see my cousin Tyler Eifert score a touchdown, though I'm not a Bengals fan. LOL!!! :D

Good afternoon everyone!
Just thought I'd pop in to say hello, I have a few minutes to myself. I haven't had much alone time lately. It's not a bad thing lol, just haven't been able to post as much as I would like. My two oldest are working and my husband took my youngest car shopping. I'm having a cup of coffee, looking at some items on eBay. I've had my eye on a few items and decided to buy a couple of things, thought I'd share the pictures. My family doesn't appreciate them as much as I do but I know you guys will.
Two sets of vintage salt & pepper shakers. Winking Santas ~

And these cute poinsettia girls ~

And these kissing angel figurines ~

I just love anything vintage. Can't wait to get them!
We're heading back to my parents house today, they wanted to have us for dinner. I'm going to run to the bakery in a few minutes to pick up something for dessert. I'll pop back in tonight!

Love them all!!! Hope you had a great dinner with your parents!

Home from work early but not due to good circumstances. You won't believe the day I've had!!!!! I want to say more and would have if it was just you guys but it's a public forum.

My building was evacuated. A threat was made last Sunday apparently just after I finished work. My colleagues told me when I got in this morning so I was uneasy knowing what happened.

Then it happened all over again this evening. HORRIBLE! I am still shaking. This time we have been told even less.

My building is a historical landmark and it's always a worry.
So happy to be here safe with my family.

I am so sorry this happened to you. How scary! Praying you all (and we all) stay safe!!!

Holiday: I have been a Browns' fan for a long time, disappointment is a way of life. lol Anyway, we start over again, Coach and GM were fired shortly after the game. Actually the GM was told he was fired before the game started.

Sounds like you are getting a little lake-effect snow too. I am just north of Dayton, in Miami County. They are saying a dusting to "maybe" an inch. We will see.

Had a great visit with an older cousin of mine who will be visiting with my parents for a week or so. He's hoping to hang around for my mom's surgery on the 15th of the month.

You may recall, I was concerned about her health for several months. A team of doctors dicussed her case and although the biopsy and tests seem to reveal that there is no more cancer in her colon, they're thinking the cells are there based on her condition and not showing up so they're going to remove part of her colon as a precaution. She seems to be handling it well and isn't worried at all about the procedure. "Better safe than sorry", she says.

Cleaning the fridge and stove this afternoon and just taking a moment to check in and wish you all a very merry Sunday.

Haven't spotted any Christmas trees thrown to the curb yet, that's when it hits me that the season has come to a close for most people. Going to take a drive during the week and grab some photos before the outdoor decorations come down.

My parents are leaving their tree up until Jan. 6th. I'm keeping some special ornaments and my Christmas music boxes out during the year for merry company.

Stay jolly, my friends!

Prayers for your Mom. I hope the surgery & recovery go very well!!!

Well not the best day today my Jets lost and gave up the playoff spot they could have had. My mom and sister had a huge fight in the car and I was the 3rd person and didn't say a word. That's so awkward but I really hate fighting with people and I didn't want to add to it. Oy.
Sorry to hear that. Hope they get it all ironed out quickly!!!

Good Afternoon.... Hubby and I just finished taking down the outside Christmas lights and decorations however we are leaving our icicle lights, light up reindeer and snowman out until the beginning of March. Its to dreary to take all the lights downs right after Christmas so a few years ago we starting leaving "Winter" lights up and on.

Yesterday we scored more red bows and Christmas ornaments for 75% off :) going to check out the stores near my work during my lunch breaks this week to see what other deals I can find. Speaking of work .. today is my last day of my vacation, enjoyed the last 2 weeks off.

Well I am going to work on dinner. Hope everyone has a great night!
Love the idea of letting "winter" lights out. I do the same. White/Blue lights & snowmen. Congrats on the deals!! I have enjoyed the last 2 weeks off as well - not wanting tonight to end....

It's been a long day and I will be turning in soon. We don't want tomorrow to come :) so we are staying up a little. I am exhausted from today and didn't sleep much last night so looking forward to peaceful slumber :)

Thank you all for the support today. When the world gets mad out there, it's obvious why I want to be here in the comfort of friendship and the spirit of Christmas.

Good night all.
I understand. I'm trying to stay up too...don't want today to end!

My Bengals won to go 12-4 for the first time since I was 13 years old in 1988, which was the last time they went to the Super Bowl, so fingers crossed. I am hoping the Chargers can pull off the upset and beat Denver so the Bengals can get the #2 seed in the AFC.
Go Bolts!!!
My friend was in the Denver airport tonight on her way home from Vegas. She said the airport was 'rockin! LOL She said she acted like a Broncos fan just because it was fun. HA!

Good Night MMC! Hope everyone has as good of a first day back to work in 2016 as they possibly can...
Hope your 1st day back to work goes well too!

Goodnight, dear friends~
God bless!

Look at all that snow!!!

I know that feeling!

Good evening, MMC! Hope you've all had a great day! Not much went on here today. We just went to church, relaxed, and watched the Steeler game.

Hope everyone's Monday goes well!

I am about 60 miles north of you. We have friends in Troy. Not far at all! I have been a Browns fan for as long as I can remember. Sad but true. LOL! It's tough to be a Browns fan.:eek: I saw that both were fired - wasn't suprised, but .... here we go again! My hubby is a Bengals fan. Ugh!
I hope we both get some snow!!! xx I just turned our spotlight on & it's actually snowing now. YAY!!!! Now I really don't want to go to bed. I want to stay up & watch it snow.

Booooo Steelers!!! Just kidding. It was definitely the browns who stunk it up. I had to text our Burgh friends after the game. Of course they were ecstatic! What a disappointment for a Browns fan. LOL
Hope your Monday goes well too!!!

snowflake - thank you for the pecan chicken recipe. Sounds delish!!!!

** OFFICIAL THREAD - CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN 2016 **

OK, Folks!
For the 10th consecutive year here at My Merry Christmas (and the 13th year overall) it is time to begin yet another Countdown!

Here are the statistics since we began the Season Countdown idea 12 years ago:
2004 = 1,217 posts (Christmas.com) = 3.3 posts per day.
2005 = Over 2,700 posts (Christmas.com) = over 7.4 posts per day.
2006 = 3,756 posts (The Christmas Place) = 10.3 posts per day.
2007 = 1,957 posts (My Merry Christmas, where the thread was not launched until July) = 12.1 posts per day.
2008 = 5,103 posts = 13.9 posts per day.
2009 = 8,231 posts = 22.6 posts per day.
2010 = 16,226 posts = 44.5 posts per day.
2011 = 31,091 posts = 85.2 posts per day.
2012 = 39,183 posts = 107.1 posts per day.
2013 = 59,747 posts = 163.7 posts per day.
2014 = 63,096 posts = 172.9 posts per day.
2015 = 56,859 posts = 155.8 posts per day.

Well, it had to happen sooner or later. For the first time since the Season count idea began, we did NOT set a per-day post record for the year.
What somewhat surprises me, though, is that we dropped below 2013's level as well. Have we peaked? Time will tell.
But, regardless, 2015 was still a fantastic year!

Crown and All,

Congrats on another great year. The Countdown is the very heartbeat of MMC and it thrills me to see the activity and especially the caring -- the Christmas! -- that goes on in this thread year after year.

I would add a footnote to your 2015 numbers due to our upgrade in forum software. The post count MIGHT have been inaccurate by the time we got to the end of the year due to transfer of the database. The reasons are technical but I have suspicions that ALL of our counts for 2015 we off because of the move.

That being said, I'll boldly predict a big bounce back year in 2016 for this thread.

Thank you all for your ongoing Christmas spirit and kindness. Here's to a great year in 2016!

Jeff
