Not too much going on here today, typical day of errands and chores. Getting back in to my exercise routine today, I need to lose my five pound holiday weight gain. I hope it comes off easily. We're also going to the car dealer later this evening to pick up a new car for my youngest, she is super excited. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

TGIF, my Christmas friends!

It's rainy and cool here this morning, but it's supposed to clear up this afternoon. Sunny and 70°F tomorrow, baby!

Doug is still standing. Elizabeth named our tree Doug for Douglas Fir, and I have to say, I really like that variety better than our usual Fraser Fir. I think he's coming down tomorrow, though. Then it's off to the pond to provide shelter (and Christmas) for all those big bass I'm trying to raise!

She seemed okay this morning, not too peppy, just rested by me as I got ready for work.
She should be done with her appointment by now, but haven't heard back from Adrian yet.

Hope she's okay and the antibiotics work quickly and she's back to feeling like her sweet self.

I bought my one ticket yesterday, I didn't even know the name of the game. I just went to the store and asked for a ticket for the big one. At least they knew which one i meant.

A little celebration here, Chinese food and whoopie pie was the dinner and dessert of choice. We will be having a small get together next week to bring the family here to commemorate my wife's and my birthday. Hers was just before Christmas.

Morning, MMC! I hope you all are having a wonderful week so far. We made it! It's a full week into 2016 now--how are you all doing??

I've had an amazing week-working hard to get started toward my goals for the year, spending lots of time at work, and also spending time with friends--one of my goals for the year is to spend more time with friends and less time feeling tired from work in our apartment. I went out to see Christmas lights at an amazing local garden last night with some friends from college and their dogs-it was awesome!!!

going to be another nice weather day here then on Monday we are to be back to our regularly scheduled snow.

We are starting on the basement, organizing and packing and getting rid of things we really should not be hanging on to any more, you know those "why do we have this anyway" stuff.

I work...for pay...this afternoon for 4 hours then have the weekend off. Next week I am back to a regular work schedule.

My MIL's birthday "party" went really well last night. I must say the food was delicious, with very few leftovers - loving our smoker! My Mom came over too, as well as Jims aunt, for a total of 15 people. It was a good night. I was a little bummed after it was all over - that was the last of our "holiday" gatherings at our house. I told myself I would be taking down my Christmas after my MIL's bday party. Boooo! BUT it's Friday, we made it through the 1st full work week of the year & I'm not going to let it get me down!!!

cleaning out the laundry room and all the stuff stored there, Took out an old metal shelf that dad once had in his study for books. Dad has been gone now for 19 years now and had that thing for at least 10 + years. This thing was 3 sections long with with 21 shelf's altogether. So at first I was going to get rid of it, but taking a closer look we started taking one section with 7 shelf's not in good shape off of it. So now it is only two sections with 13 shelf's. We tightened everything up on that section and cleaned it and it look really good. So I plan to paint it a shade of blue and put it in the new kitchen for storage, cook books etc.
this is what it looks like now

will post a picture when I get it painted.
Anyone know if using a brush to paint or using spray paint is better for a metal shelf ?

It wasn't fun driving in it this morning, there is a layer of ice under the snow.
But it is GORGEOUS to look at!! =)
