Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good morning!
Merry Tuesday!
I'm moving slow this morning, just having my coffee and watching the local news. I do need to go out soon, I have a few errands to run and I can't put them off anymore. The side roads are slowly improving here. It's going to be mostly cloudy today with a chance of showers later in the day. We'll have a high of 45 degrees so more of the snow will be melting away. My mother is coming over this afternoon to visit. Other than that I will be working on my daily chores. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Happy Tuesday to all!

Dental checkup and cleaning today, plus I have to discuss our new insurance with them and see how much of our pending major dental work may be covered ... ugh. And my head is so fuzzy from a constant dry-but-stuffy nose that I just can't get much relief from. But these cold days, it feels so good to get home in the evening after work---I'm looking forward to that.

Hope your apt goes well & your insurance covers more than you are expecting! I agree - it's such a good feeling to get home after work in the winter. Feel better soon!

It's going to be a windy day here with snow showers off and on. There shouldn't be much acculmation though. I don't have much planned. Just some cleaning and hopefully some work on the computer. Thoughts and prayers for you all. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!

Still no snow? I guess you guys didn't get that storm. I think it was east of you where I am. I'm sure you will get some snow in February. But yeah by March and April I have no use for snow anymore.

We really only had the 1 snow that amounted to anything. What a bummer. February doesn't look very promising either.

I'm with you. Disappointed in the weather this winter so far & I really don't want a hot & muggy summer. I like toasty weather for boating but we don't need super hot & humid temps! I also don't want cold/snow in March & April. I want it to be cold & snowy when it's supposed to be as well as nice & warm when it's supposed to be. I don't think I'm asking too much!

I'm taking a quick break from catching up on posts to jump in & say Good Morning!!! Happy Tuesday!! Not much going on here today. It's super windy & dreary. Local radio station says we have a chance of some flurries today. Originally our forecast said SNOW today but they took it out - so I think they do owe us at least a few flurries!!

We are planning a birthday brunch for my Mom on Sunday morning. Her birthday brunch is always one of my favorite meals of the whole year. YUM! Texts are flying in this morning from my nieces/nephews as to who will & won't be there. 2 of my sisters are leaving for Florida on Saturday, so they can't make it. But just our immediate family will take mom out to eat Friday night, so they can join in on the celebration too. Oh darn - 2 meals out!

My SIL had her apt with her oncologist yesterday & she is in trouble. Her cancer is back & they do believe it is in her lymph nodes. It is not a curable cancer, but it can be put into remission. Surprisingly she has agreed to chemo & strong combination of methotrexate & other meds I can't remember the name of. Just hoping & praying for a positive outcome for her.

I only realised today how soon the Superbowl is. Just one more weekend to go. Mr Festive rang to let me know he booked the Monday off as we will be up late watching it.

It's always been a tradition to watch it but part of the tradition now is to come here while watching it. I think this will be the fourth year in a row chatting with Snowflake and Made through the game. Snowflake you know you will have to hook me up with the superbowl ads as always!

Time to start dinner and sort my little gremlins ...ah I mean children out.

Friday night my brothers/sisters will be taking mom out to eat. I haven't heard yet where we are going. I'm the youngest - I just go where I'm told! Sunday we will be bringing brunch to Moms house. I am making cinnamon rolls & sausage bread, my sis is bringing breakfast casseroles, a niece is bringing OJ & other juices, another niece is baking a bday cake & ice cream. (really we could use the cinnamon rolls as a bday cake, but that's ok) another niece is brining the bacon/sausage, another neice some verggies....and those are the responses so far. YUM!

(2) don't get them wet

In a way that seems like a LONG time ago, but in a way it seems like yesterday. Regardless we are in the last week of January!!

I thought of you when we made the decision on the weekend to leave the tree another week. And you're right in a way it does seem like a long time ago but another way I remember it like yesterday. And yeah I'm not shedding tears over January starting to slowly fade away .

So DELICIOUS! You really need to let me know how make this sausage bread I keep hearing about! Also the breakfast casseroles!
