September is like, "phew, summer is over!!!" to me. That is when things start to get kicked in to high gear towards the culmination of the year.
It's funny even as a kid I was always excited for September when most kids were dreading school starting I always felt like the best time of year started because football season and a new school year and Halloween and Thanksgiving and...well ya know Christmas...just always felt like September was the beginning of it all. I guess even back then I was an addict and just didn't know it yet.

Good wishes to all from Chicago!! Not much of a winter here in regards to snow but hoping for a good snow soon! Cheer's!
Hope you get some snow soon!

Good evening,

I think I am heading to bed, just trying to make a decision. Nyquil or no Nyquil?
Work will be beckoning too early, and working in the cold while under the weather really stinks.

I did watch a few Christmassy things today, "The Night They Saved Christmas" and Christmas Through the Decades: The 90's. It is amazing how little I knew about Christmas during that decade. I guess since it was just a forgettable decade for Christmas for me, it is amazing how much I love it now.
My only true happy memories were decorating the tree with my grandmother, and starting her collection of Santas with buying her one every Christmas. The last Christmas with my mother alive in 1990 wasn't great because I was sick with the flu and we canceled going to spend it with the rest of my family because of me.
I do love The Night They Saved Christmas, I didn't get to watch it during the season.
I hope you all had a great day.

Goodnight, everyone.

I don't know what Carl's special is tonight but I sure need a couple. It's been one of those days. See y'all soon!!!!

Hope you are well and your cough is better now Made. Take care.

Good wishes to all from Chicago!! Not much of a winter here in regards to snow but hoping for a good snow soon! Cheer's!

Greetings! No snow here either and not very cold either. Doubt we will see any here. Best wishes. Cheers.
Good morning Thursday

Good Morning,
How is your daughter? I hope her finger is healing.
Have a good day Solice.

I hate nightmares. It takes a while after you wake up to let go of the feelings experienced. I hope you sleep better tonight. Take care and have a very Happy Pines Day!!

Thank you, Festive! (((HUGS)))

Finally Weds!! Yaahoo! Incoming snow storms here the rest of the week which is good since we lost all out snow yesterday and made it all ugly outside.

Be safe!

You're welcome!
Thanks Meceka <3

Sorry to hear about the bad dream! Praying you sleep well tonight. Hope you have a nice day Meceka (((hugs)))

Happy Pines Day!

Thank you, HmG! (((HUGS)))

Good Morning MMC! I've been trying to act like I'm not sick all week but I think today I'm finally admitting defeat...

Hope you all have a good day. I'll be sitting at home on my couch trying to get a little work done. Happy Pines Day!

Praying you are better soon, DYHWIH! (((HUGS)))

Good morning!
Merry Pines Day!
My middle one is home with a sore throat. She was at the doctor yesterday, we're waiting for a call this morning to see if it's strep. Hopefully not. I don't have too much planned for today. I would like to take a ride to Target to pick up a few things. I'm also going to stop at Hallmark for a couple of cards. Other than that I'll be working on the laundry.
I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!

Aw, what a cute picture. Thank you for posting!

Good Morning, Fans of Christmas Here, There and Everywhere!
Welcome to the thread where it all happens.
Where we count down daily to the most wonderful Season and the most glorious single day of the entire rolling year.

Let's crunch the numbers:
Days to the Season: 291
Days to Christmas Day: 333

Down to a scant 16 days now until our next Milestone, the ONE QUARTER SEASON marker.
(Hey, just think. We will then be half way to the half way point!)

Ah! Nice and warm (for January) yesterday and that pretty much did a number on the remaining ice. Today should finish it off!
Right now we have started off cloudy with 50 degrees appearing on our back door thermometer. There is a high chance of rain today and tonight, which will be good to take care of removing the road salt the city used to melt the ice.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Friends. See you at the final January 'Pines open house this evening.
(Carl is ready as always with thrills, chills.........and surprises!)

Thank you, Crown!

I am like that too with nightmares! Hope you have a good Wednesday!

Thank you, SnowflakeMom! (((HUGS)))

I agree! The brown grass & gray days just make you say "UGH!"

Thank you so much! :)

You're welcome! :)

That sounds like a horrible dream! I hope you get some sleep tonight!

Hugs to sweet Palmer, the little stinker! :)

Thank you, Holiday! (((HUGS)))

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's good to be home! The older I get, the more I appreciate stability. Time was, I'd love to take off on a road trip; now I look forward to staying home with my family. Plus, I didn't get my Keurig cup and my Pop-Tart yesterday morning! The traffic was a bear on the way home, but once I got east of Macon, it was smooth sailing.

Now I'm trying to catch up here at work. I hope y'all have a great Pinesday! :D

I'm glad you made it home safe and sound!

Thanks for the advice!
I've been using a few squirts of saline spray throughout the day for a few days, without much improvement (except for a few minutes after I use it). I also took decongestant tablets yesterday, and that helped. I will stick to the saline spray today and not take the tablets again unless I feel really closed-in again. The weather is supposed to get colder and drier, so ...

Eeek! You need a soothing warm drink before bed. (I mean decaf tea, or cocoa, not a toddy!)

You're welcome!
A toddy might help me sleep! ;)

Mexican is my all time fav!!!
The quiche recipe isn't really "quiche" more of a casserole, but it's delish!!! And you are right, they are great reheated!!
I may have shared the German Pancake recipe already, but here you go. The syrup is what makes it! YUM

"Piping hot and puffy from the oven, this golden pancake made a pretty presentation for a skier's theme breakfast I hosted. Served with my homemade buttermilk syrup, it's an eye-opening treat. That easy syrup tastes great on waffles and French toast, too. -Renae Moncur, Burley, Idaho"
Original recipe yield: 8 servings

INGREDIENTS
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • BUTTERMILK SYRUP:
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar

DIRECTIONS
  1. Place the eggs, milk, flour and salt in a blender; cover and process until smooth. Pour the butter into an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish; add the batter. Bake, uncovered, at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine the first five syrup ingredients; bring to a boil. Boil for 7 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla. Dust pancake with confectioners' sugar; serve immediately with the syrup.

Thank you for sharing the recipe!

Good afternoon,

Dentist in the morning, just sitting home now watching TV. I am feeling quite yucky today, sinuses all blocked up and painful. Woke up feeling that way.

I still have my 7.5 foot tree up, I was supposed to take that down today, but just feel to sick to do it. Sunday is now my day to take it down. I do love it, it still on and shining brightly, but it is time for it to come down.
This is the beauty that is still lingering.

I will be back throughout the evening.

Praying you are better today!

Good wishes to all from Chicago!! Not much of a winter here in regards to snow but hoping for a good snow soon! Cheer's!

Good wishes back to you, Willy Nilly! I hope your area gets a good snow soon! Be merry!

Good morning, MMC!

It is so strange to be in the ranks of the early morning posters now, but for some reason it is easier for me to keep up. Yay! A plus to getting up early. :)

Another busy day here. The utility company left a message the other day that the electricity is going to be turned off around 9 this morning for updates to the system. I hope it doesn't last long as it is windy and damp out. The wind is blowing in the right direction to go through the house so the furnace is on more than off. Going to be in the 40's this weekend with rain and it is Snowfest this week, too. It seems that every year during Snowfest the temperature warms up. Doesn't stop the crowds, though. Should be a busy time at the store. I stocked it pretty good last weekend so it will be interesting how well I did.

Praying for all of you!
Have a MERRY day!!!
