Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve!!

I posted this over in the Prayer Request thread, but thought I would update you - Please keep my SIL in your prayers. She is back in the hospital. Yesterday she called her friend b/c she was in so much pain - she told her friend to call Hospice, she just wanted to die. So her friend called my sister, my sister called the oncologist who said to get her to the ER - she can't make decisions like this while she's in crisis. So she went in by squad last night & my sis met her there. They have to remove fluid from her Pleural cavity (Thoracentesis‎) I'm not sure if this has been done already or if that will be today. My sis is going back to the hospital today. :(

So guess where I get to go tonight? Yep, back to the funeral home. My sis who is at the hospital today was going to take Mom, but obviously she is busy now. My Dad's Aunt (through marriage) passed away. She was 96 & a wonderful lady. I didn't know her well - haven't seen her for years & years, but I have met a couple of her sons a few times, my Dad was her son's Godfather. We are also taking Mom to a funeral/gathering (celebration of life) Saturday morning. One of her friends from way back passed away, & we are friends with his daughter/husband, so we all will be going. What fun, huh?

Geez, this is a pretty morbid post- sorry to be a downer.

I am happy that it is Friday Eve!!!! Have a Fantastic Friday Eve everyone!!!

Will be thinking of and praying for your SIL, and for you. I hope circumstances will improve very soon.

Good Thursday Morning MMC! Back around we are once again to Friday Eve. Hmm I already feel these weeks going by quicker than the first couple of this month. The days dwindle here in late January and my tree remains up until the weekend. We are in store for a warmup this weekend (well 40s is warm for late January at least) and into most of next week! Good way to start February after last year we were in an ice box almost the entire month of Feb. But I did hear after that it will turn more normal colder...as long as we don't wind up with another blizzard and 0 degrees I won't complain :). We still have a long way to go this winter though. Never know.

We actually have a chance of snow today. But they are saying high of 40º so we'll see! They are predicting 48º for Saturday, 51 for Sunday, 46 for Monday, 53 for Tuesday....then 35 on Wed. Crazy weather. Have a good day Edge!

And what is the astounding part?
Well, how about the fact that as of the day after tomorrow we will be down to just TWO WEEKS to the ONE QUARTER Milestone to Christmas Season 2016.
(No? How about mildly astounding? Surprised? Merely interested?)


As predicted, the warmth of yesterday did away with the last of the ice cover and things are back to normal -- at least for this time of the year.
We have commenced the day here at 39 degrees, still with some threat of rain.

It is very sad and indeed tough what your SIL is going through. I pray that she gets the medical advice and treatment she needs and her situation can improve. It must be such a shock to everyone and that in itself is hard.

Sorry to hear your mum is having to say good bye to someone else and so soon after her dear friend. I know going to the funeral home is tough but take comfort in the thought that you can be there for your mum. You will get through it.

Praying for strength and courage to help you through this difficult time. We are here to listen and to support you all the way.

She is such a tough case! She doesn't really "believe" in medicine - yet she is an RN! The docs will have their hands full with her. Hopefully they can get her strong enough to start cancer treatments. Thank God for my oldest sister - she is running around like a chicken with her head cut off, trying to keep Jackie with us...as well as help out with her 4 kids & 9 Grandkids! She's a busy lady - but the only one my SIL will "let in"!

He is! I remember when my sister first adopted him. I stayed a week with him while my sister and BIL went on vacation. We bonded instantly, and although she eventually adopted another beagle, named Hailey, Hunter always has had a special soft spot in my heart. He is a senior now, with a beautiful white face. I'll have to find a picture of him to post =]
