And nothing stokes the fires like our ever-declining count:
Days to the Season: 86
Days to Christmas Day: 128

Five days, Guys.
That's FIVE. (You read it right.)
It's the time remaining until our next Milestone Marker, the two thirds point to Christmas Day.
Then, the 100-day Christmas Day Window and the start of a DOUBLE-DOUBLE DIGIT count sequence signalling the real fast track to the end of our journey!!


A bit of a relief yesterday as the temp and humidity dropped a shade.
It will still be less than pleasant today through the weekend, but then the weather service has promised nicer days ahead for next week. Not fall-like but more refreshing that recent weeks have been.
We commence activities here in the capital city today at 79 degrees and it looks a bit like rain.

Hello everyone. I hope you all have a great Friday! It's the first day of school for my kids...and my wife. She's been back to work this week preparing, but today she'll actually have students.

I sat outside late last night and again early this morning and I noticed summer is slipping away quickly. Evenings have been cooler the last few days and the sun is setting earlier each night.

It's Friday y'all!!!
The girls and I have a bridal shower to attend and all attendees were asked to bring a salad. I'm bringing my curry shrimp and quinoa salad with cranberries and sliced almonds. I have to start marinating the shrimp and soaking the quinoa tonight so that I can wake up by 6am in the morning to actually make it. I've made it before a few times and it's always a hit at our church functions, so much so there's usually no left overs that I have to schlep home. The shower itself is at 11am so I'm sure it will be done by early afternoon and I'll have the entire day left to do a little grocery shopping and start back to school prep. Lizzybeth's first day of middle school is Monday. She is very excited and wants her waist length hair blown out for her first day. Oh boy!!! That is a time commitment of at least two hours of my Sunday I'll never see again. LOL

For those of you who've already begun sending your kids back to school how's it going? Any funny stories or pics you wanna share?

TGIF MMC...we made it to Friday! Just working today and tomorrow I think we may go to the beach and my FIL is coming down on Sunday from Boston. I am on vacation next week. We don't have too much planned...probably the beach a few times and then taking my kids to the outlets shopping. Hope you all have a great Friday!

inTGIF, Christmas friends!

I thought I'd come in here early, just in case this day gets as wild as the last couple were.

We had a viewing Wednesday of the commercial we've been recording for Bernie's store. As I mentioned, it's not for TV. It's a contest wherein 20 businesses will be selected to get a fancy, new pizza assembly and cooking station for their stores.

Anyway, the district sales manager for this pizza company was nearby that day, and stopped to view our progress. He was so impressed, he's offered to submit it personally to his home office with his recommendation. So, Bernie is excited! I hope he wins!

And I hope y'all have a great day!

Happy Friday!
I logged on here last night and fell asleep with my phone in my hands before I had the chance to say goodnight. The lack of sleep catches up with me every once in a while. Maggie woke up twice last night but went back to sleep both times, not too bad. I'm having my coffee right now, watching the news and working on a menu plan and grocery list. I need to get moving soon, I need to straighten up the house and start working on the laundry. I have a few errands to run. I'll be heading to my parents house this afternoon. Their tenants moved out and I'm going to help them get the apartment cleaned up. She wants to call the real estate agent soon so that they could find new tenants. My husband has plans after work to help a friend do some electric work. It will just be me and my two youngest for dinner, think I'll take a break from cooking and get take out with them. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!

TGIF everyone. We got the EPA tests results last night and our town's drinking water is ok. The gas leak was contained in time. My wife works for our local Health Department and is having a long busy week with the water issues.

Ready for the ber months and cooler temps. August is my least favorite month of the year. The hot weather is getting old. Kids have to go back to school and college. Not may good things happen in August.
