I consider myself a pumpkin wallflower, I really dislike pumpkin, but it is part of the culmination of seasons so bring it in.

Me, too ... so you're not alone!

I had an unfortunate encounter with a pumpkin cookie when I was young, and it put me off pumpkin, even though I liked pumpkin pie before.

Merry Afternoon all,

Hope everyone is off to a good start.
Beautiful day here today. Still summary at 66F and loving it. It won't be long now till we start plummeting into 40s and below. We only had a handful of days this summer that reached over 70 and blue clear skies were also rare.

Taking the boys for haircuts soon and then back home to start dinner.

Good Morning all....Happy Bers! My b-day was a pretty good day. My daughters made me a cake and they gave me 2 new fall candles. A Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint Candies. They smell so good! Just work for me and I have my Christmas music going. Tonight I am going to decorate my mantle for fall and pull out some other decorations. Have a great day!

Sounds like a good birthday! Enjoy the new candles! My Pumpkin Pie candle is making the office smell pretty wonderful!

We have that tropical storm moving up from Florida tonight, so everyone around here is battening down the hatches and putting away the lawn furniture. I hate big winds. I'm always scared it'll break more big limbs from my pecan trees. We'll see!

Well, impending bad weather be darned, it's the 'Bers!

I am sorry Holiday. I didn't realise you are experiencing a loss. My condolences to you and your family.

Thanks Festive! Yesterday we lost a neighbor at the lake to cancer. I didn't know her all that well, but I always enjoyed talking to her when we would see her. I just feel terrible for her significant other!

Thanks Festive! Yesterday we lost a neighbor at the lake to cancer. I didn't know her all that well, but I always enjoyed talking to her when we would see her. I just feel terrible for her significant other!

That is very sad. I am sure you will miss seeing her around the lakes. Prayers for courage for her other half.

I love anything pumpkin!! But you sound like me and watermelon. I had a encounter in my youth with to many watermelon bombs..lol Just the smell of watermelon makes me gag still..lol

Our next Milestone Marker?
Well, it's the 100-DAY CHRISTMAS DAY WINDOW, and that point will be reached on September 16, just TWO WEEKS FROM TOMORROW!
It's one of three things to look forward to this month:
1) The 100-day Christmas Day Window
2) The 3/4 mark to Christmas Day
3).......well, I think you know!


A bit warmer and more humid yesterday but still not too bad a day to close out the month of August.
Today should be warmer with a good chance of thunderstorms, then much cooler for Friday.
Continuing to monitor the new tropical storm in the Gulf which is supposed to come our way by late tomorrow into Saturday. We were planning a trip to the coast for the Labor Day weekend but may have to cancel or delay.
Right now, we show 75 degrees here.

Thursday. The weekend is so close. Wait. It's September? Happy 'Ber months, everyone! The seasons are so close to changing. And, today, the calendar has changed!

We have had a pretty warm summer in Ottawa. Temperatures have been regularly above 30c/85f. No complaints here. Today, however, we are getting a preview of the comfortable Autumn weather. Temperatures are only to reach 23c/70f. I like it!

It appears that we're back into Pumpkin Spice season, too? I, like many here, love the Pumpkin Spice season, yet do not necessarily partake. I love pumpkin pie and everything pumpkin that is edible. I just do not do those whacky coffees or lattes. Still, I am excited to revel in the smell for the next few months. Our Season is so close!

My breakfast is almost ready. I should really get to that. Have a great Thursday, everyone!!
