Dismal and cold morning. Perfect backdrop to our cosy saturday in. We may nip to a local DIY this morning quickly. If we do Mr Festive hinted it would be worth stopping by the garden centre next door to see what Halloween/Christmas stuff they have in :) He knows how to sweet talk me :)

Anyway, I better go. I am making breakfast - sausages, hash browns, maple bacon, eggs and mushrooms.

I'm running low on some things so it really can't wait. Not too much going on this afternoon, I'll just be working on some chores around the house. I'm sure I'll find the time to do some reading and relax as well. My husband and the girls all have to work for a few hours but we''ll meet up for dinner. I'm giving myself a break tonight and we're going to order pizza. That's about it for me.

Good Saturday Morning MMC! A rainy and chilly Saturday morning. It was nice to wake up to the sound of the rain and not have to get out of bed as early for work. Rollins slept and only woke me up for a few minutes once. I woke up early like usual but an hour later than I have to get up for work during the week. I have a bunch of errands to do and to study for a Statistics midterm that I have on Thursday. Watched a few Halloween shows last night and will watch more today.
Enjoy your Saturday cause I know that I will!
 
Happy Saturday! Have a somewhat busy day... kid party this afternoon and an Oktoberfest dinner this evening. Husband is hinting at canceling going to the dinner tonight. It's about 30 degrees cooler today than yesterday and he just wants to stay in! Can't blame him, I don't necessarily want to be out all day, either! I am making a nice, big breakfast at the moment, QVC has Bethlehem lights on... very cozy! Have a great day!

Days to Halloween: 9 (Hey! SINGLE DIGITS!!)
Days to the Season: 22 (Three weeks from tomorrow!)
Days to Christmas Day: 64 (Two months and three days!)
(That first number -- the one with the single digit. That one is really scary!
BOO!!)


Well, a day of two parts yesterday. Warm and humid in the morning and afternoon, with a brief rain. But by evening - a quick cool-down.
And this morning? Well we are starting out at 54 degrees under clear skies and we likely will not leave the 60's all day.


Well, we are off to the annual NC State Fair this morning. We do this nearly every year. Lots of bang for your buck!

I have to work until 1:30 today and then we are going off to visit our local museum to see the "Lion , the Witch and the Wardrobe" exhibit. The play is on at the Stratford festival this year, we have tickets to see it on November 2.

Work on my competition cake has started. I hope to get a fair bit done this weekend. I only have a few more weeks so really need to get busy.

Good Morning .. well after several days of too warm and well above normal temps the weather is more seasonal thanks to the cold front that moved through last night. Overcast, damp and chilly ... I'll take it :) Perfect morning to lounge around drinking coffee! Going to make a pot of homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner and watch some Halloween movies later. Kids want to make cookies but they want to try a new one so I am waiting for them to let me know what they want to make.

Agreed!
I like to visit our local garden center the weekend before Thanksgiving. It gives me a chance to really get in the mood---they have a few dozen Christmas trees with themed ornaments, all sorts of decorations and gifts, so it also gives me a chance to pick up garlands or new lights or whatever I need to start decorating. That isn't too far away now!
 
How is your weekend going, everyone?

It's gray and rainy here today, but I think we'll go out for some late lunch anyway. It's been a rough week, and I'd love to regain my strength with a good ol' hunk o' steak somewhere. I woke up in the early morning hours dreading what awaits me on the office desk---then had the great pleasure of remembering that it's Saturday and I don't have to worry about it for two days yet! I went back to sleep smiling.

I'll get a few things done today, but with the rainy atmosphere, I'm more in the mood to curl up and relax with a book or movie. Hopefully there will be time for both.
