I'm on my 12th year in management. I still love it but yeah, it's nice when there's nothing to worry about. I'll be on vacation for two weeks starting November 5th, that's when I'll truly have nothing to think about regarding work. Hope you'll have a nice day CGYager.
With your encouragement, how could it be anything less than nice...

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

We had supper at Mrs. Hilda's last night. Homemade soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Mmm, mmm, mmm! It's just too bad that it's still 80° outside. That would be really good in 30° weather!

Jacob's band has a gig tonight. I'm not sure if we're going or not, though. Well, I probably will, but Nancy might not. Thursday nights are tough at our age LOL!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Good morning MMC! Merry rainy, windy, cold Friday Eve!!! Actually it's "Friday" for me! (and @MerryCarey ) Woop! Looking forward to having tomorrow off, even though the weather right now is less than desirable for lake weather. LOL! Supposed to be mid 70's by Saturday! :D

I'm feeling Christmassy today! I switched the Christmas CD in the vehicle from Sheryl Crow to Neil Diamond. Need to get all these "not favorites" listened too before the season starts, AND I just activated the SiriusXM in the Durango since Channel 4 will change to "Holly" on Tuesday!

Everyone, have a wonderful day!!!

The emergency pecan gathering was greatly exaggerated. When Hurricane Matthew came through, it forced many of the not-so-good pecans to fall, while the healthier pecans remained in the trees awaiting November. The man who normally harvests the pecans for Mama wanted to clean up the less-desirable nuts, so they would be out of the way when the good nuts fall.

They'll still go to market, but we expect a lower price for them. Luckily, they won't be mixed in with the good nuts next month, so we can expect a higher price per pound for them. Whew. LOL
Sounds like that worked out well! Hope it's a good harvest this year! xx

I'm thinking I might do a short-term SiriusXM activation in Nancy's car, too! My truck is too old to have an XM radio, doggone it!

Thanks! The normal Thanksgiving-time harvest should be great, since these less desirable pecans won't be mixed in with the good ones.

Holiday, I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Sending hugs <3

I'm very sorry for your loss, thinking of your family tonight.
Thank you both very much!
What a big wonderful family! It took us 1 hour & 15 minutes to get through the receiving line last night! My cousin was cremated so there was no casket - there was no room in there for it anyway - they had the entire room filled with his brothers/sisters/in-laws. They are all so sweet!
My family all went together & then went out for pizza & drinks after. It was as nice as a night can be when you have to go to the funeral home.
Today is not a nice weather day for the funeral mass! Most of my brothers/sisters are going as well as Mom. I didn't want to take off work again, since I'm off tomorrow & we're working on this new software. Fred was quite a bit older than me - I'm the youngest of 55 cousins & he's in the "older cousins" bracket so I didn't know him as well as my brothers/sisters. I'll pick Mom up on my lunch from the dinner after the mass so I'm sure I'll get to talk to some of the cousins then.
I think I just wrote a book... Ha ha

I signed up for 6 months/$30. We have it in the truck but need to cancel so they offer it to us cheaper. LOL

Looking forward to that day off, too! I want to do some DJ recording for the Santa Tracking broadcast, and I want to stop at Target for the new Straight No Chaser Christmas album that's being released tomorrow. Christmas will be in the air tomorrow at Chez Carey!

Buble's Christmas CD is the only one I'll listen to before Thanksgiving. That tradition started when I was pregnant with my son. During the Christmas season, I was 5 months pregnant, and I really wanted my son to hear Christmas songs through my belly. I played a lot of Buble that year, and when Christmas was over, I didn't want to stop all Christmas music because I wanted my son to be born knowing and loving it! So I continued the Buble CD. After he was born, that CD was the only music that always calmed him when he was crying. So it turned into a year-round treat whenever we are in need of comfort or being festive. :)

I love this!!! ♥ ♥ ♥

Good evening,

Day off came and went too quickly, I spent 3 hours at the car dealership. Our lease is up soon so it is time to start looking for a replacement or decide to buy it outright. We saw one we really like, but it will probably be out of the price range we want to stay in. I hate car shopping.

We were supposed to be getting snow tonight, but it looks like it will be missing us. It is quite cold outside tonight, standing at 28*f right now.
I hope you all had a great day

Goodnight, everyone
They always do!
Good luck with your car search!
Hope you woke up to a little snow on the ground! xx

Morning Bradmac. I can kind of relate to the age thing. Seem to be slowing down a bit since I hit 60. ;)
80? Wow. I would not know how to react to 80 at the end of October.
Have fun at the gig and my best to Jacob and his band.
