A very pleasant Saturday morning to one and all. First of all, how was the concert? I have no idea. When I woke up around 4PM, Connie let me know that our daughter had really wanted to go and did not say anything due to the ticket cost. What could I say except have a fun Mother/Daughter evening. So I stayed home and cleaned up the abode. They were out until after midnight and it turned out they paid an extra $100 and got to go backstage to chat with the performers and get some pictures with them. At first she felt bad, but I told her that these one time chances were worth the money in exchange for the priceless memories.
On an unhappy note, I young lady that works with me at Wal-Mart (and at on time for me), passed away yesterday from a heart attack. She had been having some heart troubles for a few years, but that does not make it any easier to hear. Her mother, had just lost her own mother just over a week ago and now her daughter. I find myself at a loss for words to comfort her, except that if she needs anything I will be there for her. I do not go onto facebook, but Connie does and read where Mona (her mom) posted "I want my baby back." I can't even imagine what she must be going through, adding to that the time of year it is happening (not that any point in time makes it easier).
It does remind me that life is precious and without a defined time frame. No one is guaranteed a tomorrow. I pray I can be of some help to the family when needed.
Don't mean to end this morning's post on a sad occasion. I hope you all have a beautiful Saturday and weekend.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your co-worker. Sending thoughts & prayers to you & her family. How tragic.

Just got word my bro made it home safely!! -santa dance-(always a relief)

Christmas music is playing, I am decorating for Thanksgiving (35 people coming over YIKES!), changed the clock to the Christmas chimes, Christmas cards came in the mail today. . . . I feel like Christmas is beginning. . .
I know how you feel! I have between 30-50 coming... don't have the total count yet! Hope all your prep & the celebration goes well!

Good afternoon, Christmas friends! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Staying home with the girls today as the babysitter ended up sick. It has been pretty fun as we have just played, now it is time for lunch and picking up. Before i do that, I'm going to make my grocery list for Thanksgiving food

Nothing like an unexpected day off.
How nice! (Not that the babysitter is sick!) Enjoy your day!

The Countdown to the Season is included in that! That's why there are so many.
Thanks Merry! That's kind of what I figured. Love it! I'm just getting to the point - I think there were 3 hours left to go. LOL

Hahahahah!
Thank you so much.
I actually only saw it today for the first time. Merry Carey posted it.
I just love it!!!!!
Your welcome. I figured maybe it had been posted already but wanted to make sure you saw it. Too cute!
Hope you're having a great day!

I hear you; I have to head over to see my folks tomorrow. Mom is doing a bit better, but there's a hospital bed in the living room until she can safely climb the stairs again. She's a trooper though and will make it; she told me her incentive is to simply sleep next to my dad like she's done most of her married life. I love their bond.
Prayers for your Mom. I hope she's climbing them steps to sleep next to your dad very soon!

Sadly, we lost my Mom on September 17 so this will be a tough Christmas. We'll perservere though cause she'd be mad if we didn't but I sure miss her!
Keeping you in my thoughts & prayers. :( Last Christmas was the 1st without our Dad. It's tough.

Good morning MMC! Merry Monday! What a weekend! My brother from Cape Cod flew in Saturday morning & surprised us! He called my sis & said he was in PA & would need picked up at the airport in a couple hours. SO FUN!! I went shopping with the girls Saturday morning, then out for lunch. Then to my future nieces bridal shower...watched the Buckeyes then off to my nieces for an impromptu party with the family. Yesterday my brother took lots of nieces/nephews up for plane rides & my other brother had everybody over for a cook out, including my cousins who are cleaning out my uncles house which is in the same neighborhood as my mom & brother (My uncle is in a nursing home & my nephew/wife are going to rent his house) - what a fun house full! This morning my Cape Cod brother, mom & I took off to pick up Emma - She was SO SURPRISED to see him! We then dropped him off at the airport on the way home & he had to head back! Always sad to say goodbye, but he'll be back in 3 weeks for my nephews wedding! :) 2 of my sisters, my brother, SIL & 2 of their grandkids were there this morning to see him off. What a fun morning - it was hard to come to work...but here I am! And now I have some catching up to do both at work & here on MMC! Looking forward to reading the last special posts!!

Everyone, have a GREAT Monday!

How cool is that! I know someone at work who has his flying permit (is that how you say it in English?) but I could never fly in a small airplane. I overcame my paralyzing fear of flying enough to go to Banff a couple of years ago but I cannot even imagine stepping into a small plane. You sure had a busy weekend with your family, that's wonderful! More family goodness to come next week I'm sure.

Good Monday morning Brent. Getting more and more of my Christmas stuff up every day. I have so many Christmas CDs, that I am never at a loss for tunes whether instrumental or singers. Have not watched many Christmas Movies yet, but that is coming up soon as well.
Have a fun week...

Thanks, CGY! Deciding which Christmas music can be a tough decision, I agree. I had to start based on tradition. Now that I've listened to tradition, we'll see what comes next!

Have a fun week as well!

You're really going "all Christmas, all the time" now, that's fantastic! Must have been so much fun to decorate. We'll be doing that on the 26th I believe. Any chance we might see some pictures? I love seeing how people bring Christmas into their homes. Enjoy the Christmas music and have a great week.

It has been fun thus far, Martine! Decorating was a lot of fun. Kim and I really enjoyed it. The 26th is a good date to start. You get a full month, at least! I'll post a few pictures shortly. :)

Thanks Martine. Yes, my brother has his pilot license. He actually was an aerobatic instructor! (airplane tricks -Crazy nut!) He took up many of my nephews yesterday & they did flips & loops. Bout makes me sick to watch. LOL! I will fly but I don't LOVE it. I always tell him I will go up with him if he's going to take me somewhere warm & tropical! ;)
Hope you are having a great day!

** CHRISTMAS SEASON 2016 DAY 2 **

Good Morning, Season Worshipers.

Did your first day of Christmas Season 2016 go well yesterday?
Did you listen to any Christmas music?
Watch any Christmas movies?
Start checking to see if there were any leftover blank Christmas cards from last Christmas for use this year?
(Watch the Panthers loose again??)

I started off this year's listening with a different artist from the usual Glen Miller.
The Billy Vaughn orchestra turned out a really nice instrumental Christmas album that I highly recommend. I have it on an ancient cassette tape (1980) and it's simply entitled "Billy Vaughn Christmas Songs" and consists of 9 traditional songs plus Auld Lang Syne. The catalog number is "CA-HDY-1906" ("Holiday Records/Division of Phoenix Entertainment and Talent" is written on the cover.) Real pleasant music.
Perhaps it's out there some where on the web.

Continuing with our count, now:
Days to Thanksgiving Day: 10 (SINGLE DIGITS TOMORROW!)
Days to Christmas Day: 41 (Now under 6 weeks left!)
(Wow. Thanksgiving is a week from this Thursday. Things are really starting to move along!)

Rather chilly here yesterday and a moderately heavy jacket was needed for most of the day. The same should be true again today with the added feature of rain. Then things should improve for the balance of the week.
Currently, we perceive 47 degrees on our back door thermometer, with a light rain falling.

Have a Marvelous Monday Folks.
And a Fantastic First Full Week of Christmas Season 2016!

Nice suggestion, Crown. I'll see if i can find that. I have always enjoyed instrumental Christmas music, although I do enjoy it all. 41 more days of joy and excitement. Looking forward to the rest!!
