Christmas Countdown - 2016

One more day to go! The kids will be staying at the in laws for Friday & Saturday, so the wife and I are going to get Chinese food and wrap presents tomorrow night. Can't wait for work to be over tomorrow.

Merry Friday!
How have you all been? Are you all on track with Christmas prep?

I could do with a couple more weeks before the 25th. Both children have been unwell this week one after the next and Mr Festive and I are still struggling with respiratory infections. Plans last weekend to visit Santa and the christmas markets were cancelled as my youngest was very unwell.

I have had to put a pause on showing the house for the next couple of weeks. We have been having a couple showings every week with no result. It's just too overwhelming with every thing else going on. I simply can't manage it!

A whole week has passed without me watching a single christmas movie or listening to music!!!! It's going by too fast!

Happy December Friday! Hope everyone is excited for this weekend. After this weekend...1 more weekend before Christmas weekend? Where is it going? Well I know we ask that a lot but I have been watching a lot more Christmas shows this week. I plan on a lot more this weekend too. This weekend will be big in terms of Christmas Eve/Day prep cause will try to get half the food for the big Christmas Eve dinner and also start wrapping several gifts.

Happy Friday!
I've been up for quite some time, Maggie woke me up and I was not able to fall back asleep. My mind started racing, thinking about all that needs to be done. I finished shopping for our extended family yesterday. I'm going to take a break from shopping today to work on my Christmas cards and catch up on some chores around the house. I will concentrate on the girls gifts next week, my goal is to have them finished by the end of the week. After that I will be getting ready to host Christmas Day. Lots to do but it's all good, I love it. My husband and I will be attending a Christmas party this evening. Everyone has to wear something Christmassy, should be fun. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day. One more thing, I also need to work on my Christmas village again today. I can't seem to keep Sophia out of it this year!

** CHRISTMAS SEASON 2016 DAY 27 **


Good Morning, Everyone!

Well how about that, now. We have nearly completed FOUR WEEKS of Christmas Season 2016!
Time is starting to move quicker and quicker as we approach the Big Day, isn't it?
But consider. The countdown to Christmas Season 2017 has been silently running since November 13.
(You will be surprised how far down it is when we start next year's count on January 1!)

Today's count number:
Days to Christmas Day: 16 (TWO WEEKS from the DAY AFTER TOMORROW!)
(Holy Holiday, Batman!)


Well, Mother Nature has finished toying with us and is now making her presence felt in ernest, with this morning commencing at a cold 31 degrees.
We likely will not get out of the lower 40's all day and the next two night's lows will be in the lower 20's. Winter is definitely here, Guys!
(Of course, the nearness of Christmas makes it all tolerable, doesn't it?)

Good Friday morning! I'm working the afternoon/evening shift and can't wait for this work week to be over. I'll be going to the walk-in clinic tomorrow, I've put it off for too long now. David had his MRI yesterday. He has to make an appoitment to see a doctor next week to get the results and see what the course of action will be. We feel so behind for Christmas with all that's happened this week. It's turned quite cold overnight (-13°C/9°F) and the snow we had last night has stuck. They announce a lot of it on Monday too. I'm happy to have a white Christmas but we don't need that much snow. Hope everyone will have a great day ahead!

Good morning, everyone! We had a pretty cold night here last night for TX...in the low 20's. I sure wish we could have gotten some snow! We're going to be back up to 70° in a couple days.

I'm leaving in an hour to visit my mom for the weekend. It'll be just me and my little guy. He's been very excited to go!

Things are moving WAY too quickly for me. I've been much busier than usual this year.. So many preparations and packages and gift-making. But I've also gone to many tree-lighting, parades, and watched several Christmas movies already. It's like, the more festive I try to make everything, the faster time flies. It's a terrible paradox. In past years, when I haven't had much to do, Christmas time lasted longer but I was sad because I didn't enjoy it with enough festivities. Lol.

The party went well last night. Everyone had a great time, and the food wasn't bad. That's about all the enthusiasm I can muster, though. I just don't like that restaurant LOL.

Jacob has finished finals, so he's going to lunch with me, mom & Jim today. More shopping tomorrow!
