TGIF!!!! Got about 1 1/2 to 2 inches last night .. our big puppy was fun to watch as she tried to bite and eat the snow as it was falling. Suppose to get more snow tomorrow and depending on what news channel you watch we are suppose to get anywhere from flurries to a few inches so we shall see. Other then DH having to work for a few hours tomorrow morning no plans for the weekend .. I am taking it as a perfect weekend to cook/bake and watch movies :)

Have a great day!
How fun that your big puppy loves the snow. They are a riot to watch!! Hope you had a great weekend.

Awesome! I do that too, where I just don't fast forward the commercials when watching a DVR from December cuz I like remembering the bombardment of Christmas commercials that come in during the month. It never ceases to amaze me how literally overnight, from Christmas day into the day after Christmas, all of that just goes away completely (other than a few car commercials with Christmas themes that still run through New Years).
I too love the commercials during Christmas!!! :)

Admit? Celebrate it! I love that soundtrack, too.
"A Charlie Brown Christmas" is timeless. It will be successfully passed from generation to generation.

Agreed. 500 years from now, that soundtrack will be in a Hall of Fame somewhere, noted for it's excellence. It should have a fan club all it's own.

Happy Monday Morning, all. It's fun to see the numbers of posts grow greater as the days to Christmas grow less. My husband and I had an interesting experience this weekend; We went to the Bar Mitzvah for my employer's 13 year old son. The service was 3 hours long and all in Hebrew, but there was a service book with the translation for visitors like us. The cantor (man that sang the service) sang the WHOLE 3 hours. Just when I thought he'd have to rest, he'd break out fresh like he'd just started. His voice was gorgeous. Think Pavarotti crossed with Zero Mostel (he was Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof), and you get some idea. There was no organ, no band, no instrument of any kind. Just this cantor singing. And then my boss' son got up for the Bar Mitzvah reading that he was to do, and HE chanted in Hebrew for at least half and hour. Wow! Talk about a tough rite of passage! And then his parents got up and gave him a traditional blessing, with their hands on his head and the whole nine yards. They were so proud I thought they were going to burst. There was a reception too, but it had started to snow during the service, and the roads were getting bad so we had to leave. But I was genuinely impressed with the courtesy and friendliness shown to the visitors by the congregation, and I really enjoyed the service.

Time to get back to work now; just wanted to share a Bar Mitzvah with all of you. Have a great week!

Here we go again. Another Monday. At least it will see us break the freezing mark for the first time since last Tuesday hopefully. There's talk of a major freezing rain event though at the end of the week. So I'll be spending the next few days making sure I'm ready. That way its guaranteed to miss us. I hope everyone has a great day!!

Good morning and Happy Monday!
It's going to be a pretty busy day for me. My youngest has off and we scheduled a couple of doctor appointments. I don't usually like to schedule more than one appointment in the same day but she has off so she figured we'd cram it all in. So I'll be in and out today, I'm going to take a ride with her to keep her company and pay the co-pays lol. I'll be working on my daily chores in between. Dinner will be escarole and bean soup with tortellini. I'll pick a pizza up to go with it, I know I've mentioned before that the girls think soup isn't "real food" That's about it for me. Hope everyone has a nice day and a great week ahead!!!

Here are some pics from the nursing home mom is at. Apparently they are taking the Christmas decs down today & that makes me sad! They are just beautiful!!

The tree right outside Moms door:

Just down the hall from mom- I keep telling her she should go sit in this area rather than her room:

Main lobby:

This is not a great picture, but this tree is also beautiful & the frosted glass behind it looks really cool & festive!

And the village room again.... (I just love it!) Hope this stays up awhile!!

Good morning MMC! Merry Monday!!! (it sure is Monday!) I could have stayed in bed a couple more hours this morning, for sure! And Brrrrrr, it's cold outside!!! But not as cold as the weekend...still Brrrr!! ;) My little heater is my friend this morning!! :)

I had a visit from a cardinal Saturday. It was so pretty in the snow!! I had just texted my family to see what our plan was for visiting mom on Saturday - and just like that - there it was! "Hello Dad or Mike" :):) They are beautiful birds. Of course I didn't have my phone in my hand anymore...I didn't get a pic until after he flew from right outside the window to our pine tree.

Not a great picture, but you get the idea! ;)

Anyway....hope your week is off to a good start!! Have a great day!
I've always loved cardinals. I remember doing a book report on it in elementary school. That's how far back my love of this beautiful red bird goes.

Good evening,

My trees are still glowing, outdoor lights shimmering, but this has been a rough year for my lights. At least 3 strands are half out, my 3ft tree in the window both strands are half out,and the star is no longer lighting, the star is 18 years old and lasted until a couple days ago, so I got my money's worth from it. So next year I have an opportunity to do some new changes.
We got a little snow today, but expecting more tomorrow, 3-5 inches. I love the snow, especially when my lights are still on.
A friend of ours gave me an early birthday gift, it was a Possible Dreams Santa holding a chalkboard, so I can countdown on it. It was quite a surprise.
I am heading to bed, it will be busy at work until the snow starts flying tomorrow.

Goodnight, everyone
What a great gift!!! My tree is still glowing too. I love it!!! :)

Tonight was the service for Mike's cousin. I pray no one ever has to endure what they have. A cause of death is known but now they need to know why she did it and how she knew what to do. It was very sad especially seeing all her friends from cheerleading. I just pray her friends never feel the way she felt. What's most upsetting is that they couldn't get an appt for her until after the holidays due to things being booked or closed.
How horrible. Keeping you all in my thoughts & prayers!

Good Morning, Super Season Supporters!

Proceeding right along now, we find ourselves at the threshhold of a SINGLE DIGIT count to our first Milestone of 2017.

Days to the Season: 310
Days to Christmas Day: 352

And as an actual matter of fact, we will be at single digits to that marker as of TOMORROW, that point being the 300-day Season Window and the start of a 200's range Season count.
(Well. I feel better about being iced in, now!)

And iced in we are, after an overnight sleet fall. The predicted heavy snow did not materialize over night but it's still very overcast and we could get some yet.
What we did get was about an inch or so of sleet. (Fortunately, it is the weekend and there will be few folks on the road to get into accidents.)
Our temperature is currently 27 degrees but that's nothing compared to what is in store for us tonight and especially Sunday night, when we are predicted to get down to a bone-chilling 6 degrees.

Regardless, you have a Sensational Saturday and a Wondrous Weekend, Everybody!
(If we don't loose power, I will be enjoying the NFL playoff games starting late this afternoon!)
Oh darn!!! I was praying for only snow for you!!! Nobody needs sleet! Yuck!! Hope you are all safe 'n sound!!!

Good morning to everyone at MMC!

We're getting a blizzard today up to 20 inches....grrrrrrr:mad:

But if you want to see how much snow I get you can watch it live here....blizzard cam

That black and white pole in the picture is a snow stick. 36" high with 1" intervals.
My back is hurting already just thinking about shoveling all of it.:(
I'm a little jealous!!! ;)

Good Morning from the frigid north!!! I woke up to a temp of -2 and we've only made it up to 1 right now. I don't see us hitting the 14 degrees they say we will. Not much going on here today. Just going to do some cleaning and make some banana bread. I hope everyone has a great weekend!!
It was one frigid, cold, bitter weekend!!!! Hurt your face to walk outside!!!

Looks like a snowy day today. Still on track for maybe 4 inches of snow. Took Rollins out and was surprised he was running around in it having fun. Nitro hated the snow with a passion. Rollins looked at it as a game and trying to catch the snow in his mouth. Well looks like a day to just chill out at home...a rare quiet afternoon. Going to put on a Christmas show now.
Can you imagine the fun Gracie & Rollins would have in the snow??!! Gracie was giddy all weekend. She just LOVES it!!! The snow, the cold....LOVES it!
