Christmas Countdown - 2017

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday Eve!! Our HVAC people never showed up yesterday so I'm thankful that so far it's a cloudy day! Hot & humid but at least there's no sun to beat in the windows! Hopefully they will be able to fix it today. I'm sure they are swamped this week.

Not much going on today - just work. Emma made us homemade bread yesterday so we may have BLT's for supper tonight. IF the A/C is fixed. I make bacon in the oven, & I'm not turning that on if we don't have A/C!

Good morning ~
We're also going to have hazy, hot & humid weather here on the island. Chance of a thunderstorm as well. I'm a little bit headachey today, it may have something to do with the weather. Not too much planned. I'll just be working on some chores around the house and I want to take a ride to Trader Joe's as well. I'm going to grill teriyaki chicken for dinner. I think I'll make fried rice and roasted asparagus to go along with it. Thats about it for me.

We decorated today for Christmas-In-July. 4 Santas, 1 mini Christmas tree, a table runner, a few pillows and a teddy bear that counts down the days to Christmas and a few nick nacks. The best part was when my 17 month old daughter saw the decorations and walked me around the house by my finger, pointing at the Santas and says "Ho Ho Ho". It was awesome.

Aww!! That sounds adorable!!! Have fun celebrating!!!

Morning MMC! The 3 H's today: Hazy, Hot and Humid. Boy is it ever. I had my a/c running most of the night which is rare. Usually I turn it off and back on if it gets hot at some point. Applebee's was good last night but they seem to have cut back on certain things. I read that some are closing so I hope this one won't cause their food is still really good. Hope you all are well on this 20th of July. I'm off Monday so pushing through the next 2 days to make it to another summer 3 day weekend. Have a great day!

Hope your Applebee's stays open. They consistently have good food. I like that place! Stay cool today!

Good Morning, MMC!!! It's going to be another hot one here today with temps in the 90's and heat index's in the 100's. I think I'm going to melt before the cool down gets here!! LOL!!! I have to babysit again today while my sister works registration at the school. Emily has been having some real bad dizzy spells again so it should be interesting. Ella will be a handful to I'm sure. Crazy dog. I hope everyone is having a great day!!!!!

Thanks!!! She's been having them for over a year now and they can't figure it out. Their best guess right now is some type of migraine but the meds aren't helping yet. So they are talking about sending her to Cincinnati to see a neuro ophthalmologist.

The radio was warning of extra-heavy traffic along my commute route this morning, so I stuck in a Christmas CD.* I enjoyed the music so much that the traffic didn't matter, which was the idea!

I just ordered a CD of a symphony, each movement of which was written around a different Christmas carol. There's other Christmas symphony-type music on it, too. It's supposed to arrive today, and I'm looking forward to giving it a listen! (If you're on Amazon Prime, you can stream it for free.)

*Okay, full disclosure: I put on a CD of an hour of music I did for Kringle Radio last year, so I was listening to myself be a DJ. A bit narcissistic, but it was in already the car and handy!

Good morning all you fantastic, fun-loving and good-natured members of the MMC world. I had a fairly long sleep yesterday and the weird thing about it was when I woke up I swear I was more tired than when I hit the sack. Too many "I's" in that sentence, but was at a loss for a better way to put it. I trust all those who met up at the Pines had a good visit and that Holiday had a nice relaxing time in the pool.
MerryCarey's Symphony CD sounds very cool indeed. I was cruising in the "Tunes" and found Glen Miller's "In the Christmas Mood 1 & 2". Always been a fan of the Big Band Era and that orchestra really adds a special touch to some of the holiday classics.
The temps here have cooled down just a bit, but the humidity makes it hard to tell the difference when you are outside working. Not much else really going on. I will get a few thing done here in the office and then call it a night.
Take care everyone and I will say a prayer for all of you for good health, good times and peace of mind...
Looking forward to this season, our Anniversary visit in Orlando and the following...

Hi I've been missing in action for too long and miss you guys very much. Been having a rough time, my arm is reinjured again been off work for over a month now. I figured I'd been sitting around feeling sorry for myself long enough. I need to get back to my happy place and this is it.
My computer is not working well, but then I couldn't use it because I can't type. So finally managed to get on here through my phone which is great because I can sit and talk to it and it types what I say. Most of the time LOL.

I pray you are all well and will spend some time trying to catch up a bit.

MerryCarey's Symphony CD sounds very cool indeed. I was cruising in the "Tunes" and found Glen Miller's "In the Christmas Mood 1 & 2". Always been a fan of the Big Band Era and that orchestra really adds a special touch to some of the holiday classics.

Just FYI---those Glenn Miller albums are made by the band that continued under different leadership after he disappeared over the English Channel in 1944.

i have some Big Band Christmas music in my collection, and it does add a unique 1940s ambiance---you can picture families relaxing around the radio and decorating the tree as they think of the boys fighting "over there."
