Happy Labor Day, for those who have today as a holiday!

Beautiful weather here, and I'm not motivated to do much, but I'll get done what needs doing. It's going to be VERY busy at the office in the coming weeks, so I'm enjoying the calm before the storm.

Yesterday was so chilly and gray that I just had to make gingerbread---we had a box of mix in the cupboard. It's still a bit cool today, but it's supposed to warm up into the low 80s. I expect the smell of backyard grills in the neighborhood this afternoon!
Happy Labour Day.
Yesterday we were all saying the same thing at work.
Hearing about gingerbread and back yard grills has my mouth watering. Enjoy the holiday.
The next holidays off work here will be Christmas!!

That's quite the wait between work holidays, Festive. No grills here today, though. Only plenty of rain.... :(

Happy Labour Day, friends!

Kim and I returned from the wedding yesterday afternoon. It was an absolutely perfect day. Our good friend/old roommate Cassie and her (now) husband Craig had beautiful weather and a perfect ceremony. The celebrations (from what I can remember) were pretty good, too! It would have been impossible to find a face that didn't have a smile all night. I don't like sharing photos a whole lot on here (especially when they're not Christmas related, but their photographer has already posted this one that looks like it could be from a fairytale.

Cassie is probably my best (girl) friend from the Frisbee community that has given me so much in Ottawa. Seeing her looking absolutely stunning and so happy made me very proud... I never thought I would get emotional at this wedding, and then I must admit that choked up when I saw her walk down the aisle. So happy for her!

Kim and I can now rest. That was our third wedding of the year and we're all done attending weddings... Wait. Did I say rest? Ha... Our wedding is in a mere 20 days, so I guess there's no time for rest. Thankfully, however, Kim has been amazing with everything and we only have a few small details to finish. Before we know it, we'll be walking down the aisle on Saturday, September 23rd!

I hope you've all had a great weekend. I saw my first Halloween commercial this morning. When someone says "It's too early for a Christmas commercial, just remember that Halloween commercials are on TV 56 days before Halloween!" Until then, let's keep enjoying the 'BERS and celebrate that our time is right around the corner!

Greetings Auntie. Glad to see you are keeping up with your Merry Christmas thought patterns... :)
Have a nice day with all that sunshine in your heart. So, what is your secret meatloaf ingredient? Mine is stuffing mix...

My secret meatloaf ingredient is just about everything I toss in there. I add plenty of Italian spices; I'm not sure I ever follow a recipe; just a little of this a little more of that and it turns out great! Last time, I used Italian Style breadcrumbs and it added a little something special to it.
Rain can't chase my merriness away, but it feels like a much longer day than usual. Meatloaf has just gone in. :ornarment

Great pic!! I love the wooded area as the backdrop.
I go through Ottawa on my way north..small town called Maniwaki (sp?) Then its 52 miles on the worst dirt road ever to our fishing/hunting camps.

Happy Labor Day SnowflakeMom. I had my last minute "Honey-Do" shopping at 5AM this morning. Had to get done before everyone gets there. Enjoy the sun, the day and the family time...

OH NO! I had my own Honey-Do to do yesterday. I wound up at work organizing my files and then grabbing a bit of groceries. I forgot to do my back to school shopping even though I'm not going back to school. I take advantage of it. Well, I have a new pen and pencil so that should tide me over until I can pick up a new outfit. HaHa.

A co-worker of mine had a summer like that last year. Busy and crazy, but filled with memories and promises.

Hope you have amazingly wonderful weather for your wedding and your plans come together and your guests get along well.

Absolutely beautiful picture, thank you for sharing brent. Lots of weddings going on on September 23rd it seems. Two of my coworkers are attending ceremonies on that day. We'll be counting down with you.

As I'm a vegetarian, I don't do meatloaf, and I tried a vegetarian version once and it was a disaster. But I will be trying a recipe for a potluck at work (which has apples as the theme) to raise money for our social fund. It'll be a pork and apples meatloaf with bacon on top (recipe here: https://www.ricardocuisine.com/en/recipes/3668-pork-and-apple--meatloaf). Hubby will be the judge if it's good enough for the potluck. I'm sure he won't mind.

Good evening everyone.

Today has been a nice lazy day. I have not left the house and barely left the couch. :p

My next Masters class (online) started today. This one is Great Military Philosophers. The course will be interesting, but the professors has some different expectations than all of my previous professors. Oh well, it is only for eight weeks. Luckily, I am pretty well versed in the content of the class already, and I have read almost all of the books for the course before.

The weather was a little warmer today. Or at least that is what the news said, I did not go outside to find out. Tomorrow is going to be cooler again, high just over 70. Then, the 10 day forecast is all in the lower 70s and mid 60s.

Everyone have a wonderful evening and night!

Good Evening, MMC!!! It's been a long weekend. I've had my nieces since Friday and let's just say that I may have done cartwheels out to my car after dropping them off. Nothing like a soon to be teenager to make you wish for a straight jacket and padded room. Now I've got to get cracking on preparing for our family reunion in PA on Saturday. I'm going to be leaving early Friday morning to head that way. So not much time to get stuff done. I hope everyone had a great Labor Day and has a wonderful week!!!

Yup sometimes I think the tween years are worse then the teen years ... Where in PA will you be?

I love it, too! Fascinating, NcGunny! I have never driven all the way to Maniwaki, but I drive up to Chelsea, QC a lot to do some running in Gatineau Park. Next time you're coming through, and you're stopping in Ottawa, feel free to send me a message!

Thanks, Martine! Everything has been great thus far. Kim is a little worried about the weather. We want to do the ceremony on the patio overlooking the lake, but have an indoor backup plan, too. Hope the weather co-operates for your co-workers, too!

Thanks, Auntie! I'm sure the guests will get along well. It will be a nice way to cap of the memories as we officially begin the Autumn season.
