Well, we had nice sunshine all day. I had every intention of going home to make peanut brittle after work, but guess what? Yep, about 2:30 the sun went away & hasn't come back!! DARNIT!! Can't make peanut brittle when the suns not shining!! I guess I'll start on my cornucopia instead!

Everyone, have a wonderful evening!!!

I am German, in Germany....so we don´t celebrate Thanks Giving....unfortunately I must say....Thanks Giving is a Holiday I want to celebrate in the States with my family....just as Christmas and Thanks Giving

Well, just a thought, you can always start a new tradition... To me, any day to tie a feed bag on, (with Turkey, stuffing, and the works) and then sit back on a nice comfy couch or chair and throw some Christmas movies on, is a good day~

Yes, it is ... we just get carved turkey slices from a local restaurant chain (Boston Market). But it's every bit as festive!

Boston Market, I just tried that place for the very first time and I loved it. The food is fantastic and taste just like homemade. They come on the speaker and ask, "do you want to try a half chicken special"? I'm like no, I want the whole chicken!!!!

Thanks, I'm glad you feel like you're "in the picture"!
We're supposed to close at noon tomorrow, but of course that depends on no clients coming up with rush revisions or other crises ... the department I'm in is often last to leave. If I get home by 2 or 3, I'll count it as a good day!

We are supposed to work all day tomorrow here. But, I'm starting to have some dread of what the traffic will be like on 95 (southbound) or 91 or 84, etc... I think, cough-cough, I may be starting to come under the weather...

And just like that, a quarter of the lights on the big tree go out. Ugh!!!

I think I'm going to take my nieces out to the Indianapolis motor speedway tonight though. They have a 2 mile, 200 display, 2.5 million light show that just started on Sunday night. So I'm thinking go early before it gets busy.

Aww man, sorry to hear about that. Chasing after the burned out bulbs to find the few that are bad, can be a chore.

They got this tool out that really does work pretty good, that they sell at home depot and Lowes that can help you find the bad bulbs in a string that has gone out. I think its called light keeper?

Three-piece dark or turkey with two sides and cornbread ... mmm ...

Back in the '90s they were called Boston Chicken and only had chicken for an entree. They've expanded since then. They DO make good food.

Aww ... hope you can avoid that traffic one way or another. ;) Maybe the traffic will be clearing out by the end of your day, due to people traveling earlier in the afternoon.
Happily, I can bypass major highways on my commute. (That doesn't mean the local route won't get clogged up, though.)

You're right, it's called Light Keeper Pro: https://lightkeeperpro.com/home/
I have one, and either I don't know how to use it properly, or it's pretty hit and miss. (Or it's getting old---I've had it for years and years.) I finally gave up on pre-lit trees and string my own lights, checking each light string for bad bulbs before it goes on the tree. Extra work, but foolproof. I keep a spare string or two handy in case an entire string goes bad.

You have a very responsible daughter, planning her wisdom teeth extractions around her classes. But she might find it hard to enjoy all the Thanksgiving food the day after the extraction. Hope it goes well for her. And happy to read that your latest tests came back all clear. Have a great day HMG!

Good morning HMG. Looks like you will be joining a lot of us with some last minute things to do before Thursday arrives. I certainly hope your daughter can enjoy Thanksgiving, but I'm sure that "Mom" will come up with a plate that is easy to chew.
Have a beautiful day and a fantastic Thanksgiving time...

Great news about your tests, HMG!
Your poor daughter...I hope it is not too painful for her.
Have a good Tuesday!

I hope your daughters wisdom teeth extraction goes well tomorrow!! Youch! Nice that she won't have to miss class, but bummer about possibly missing out on that delicious Thanksgiving meal. Good luck to her! Have a great day. Hope all your prep for Thanksgiving goes well!!!

Thanks everyone! Hopefully my daughter will feel up to eating. I’ll be sure to make her a plate full of (soft) Thanksgiving goodies!

Ohh..I miss Bojangles chicken!!
I still miss a local place where I grew up. It was called Kwik-Kook, and it had a "fried chicken sandwich." They buttered and toasted two halves of a hamburger bun, and on each half placed a piece of bone-in fried chicken ... it came with steak fries on the side and a packet with a napkin and a wet-wipe. If you got it as a takeout, they put a second Chinet paper plate on top and stapled the edges together for easy transit. Gosh, I miss that dinner!

Thank you Meceka! Cranberry ketchup??? Sounds tasty!! You always come up with good concoctions! ;)
Have fun today at the stores! Hope you find some good books!
Have a great day!

You're welcome!

Cranberry ketchup is tasty ~ tangy and spicy both. Wish I could take credit for the recipe, but I found it in a vintage Farm Journal cookbook. Coincidentally, the book was found at the thrift store I mentioned. Great place to go for books!

Have a merry evening!

Hello everyone. Wow things have been busy, but some fun thrown in too.

I have the rest of the week off to catch up and enjoy family time. I hope everyone is doing well.

We are not hosting the family Thanksgiving this year, so I have less to do the next couple of days. Just make pumpkin pies and pumpkin bread.
Friday or Saturday we will go out and cut down out Christmas tree! I love getting our real tree!

Goodness, it's so festive in the office today! They're getting our Thanksgiving potluck ready for 12:30, and in the meantime, a co-worker whose son took orders for fresh wreaths a couple weeks back is delivering the wreaths around the office ... so the smells of good food are mingling with the scent of evergreens! This isn't making it easier to staying focused on the job!
I think your holiday spirit and "childlike" feelings for what is coming is keeping you aware of those things that really matter and what we really work for. Well done!!!

I've never made peanut brittle. Is sunshine an ingredient? o_O
Have a peaceful night...
