Good Saturday morning! Tough time getting the day going, I think my lack of sleep during the Holidays is catching up with me. Today my husband and I are celebrating our 16th anniversary. We always go out for a nice meal and we'll also go see Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Have a wonderful day everyone!

A frosty Good Morning to everyone.

We are not doing too bad this morning at 35, bound for at least the mid 40's by this afternoon but that's it for "warm" weather for quite some time and we will be spending most of our nights in the teens for the foreseeable future.
(It has been correctly pointed out by some that I should feel grateful and I certainly get their point, but this is the south, for heaven's sake!)

Been watching the bowl games. The teams from this area are in the ACC so I tend to focus on games involving that conference. At this point, the ACC is 4-3 with two more games scheduled for today.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Friends.
Under two days remain now for this thread and until the launch of Christmas Countdown 2018!
Thanks Crown! It's all relative anything under 65 degrees in Miami is freezing!

A very Happy Anniversary to you and David!

Merry Saturday!

Palmer is snoozing on her old snowflake polar fleece blanket by the window. She had a big morning. The birds were flying by and sitting on the sill, letting us know they wanted seed. Then the gas delivery truck came. With all the watching she did (and hiding from the truck), she is tuckered right out.

Not much on my agenda today. A bit of crocheting, reading, and maybe watching a movie. Too tired to do much else and this cold has taken most of my energy and my appetite. I actually feel better than I did yesterday, though, so that is encouraging. Work next week and there is a lot of stuff I need to get done at the store in the coming days.

Be safe, warm, and merry on!

Merry Christmas wishes once more to everyone. I myself, am still waiting for when we can get together, see my kids and have Christmas with them. They spent Christmas at their mom's this year and their grandparents. Well, it's just one of those things you have to go thru when you have a broken up family. I live now, re-married, about 300 miles away from them, so, on my end, I'm not happy about it, but understand, that it's expected for them to go spend it with people that live 10-15 minutes away from them. It does sadden me that I cannot spend Christmas Day/ morning with them like I always did when they were kids and growing up. I miss them and they will always be my babies, in my heart, even if they are 25 and 23 years old now.

Happy Anniversary!!! Enjoy dinner and the movie!

Merry Saturday MMC!
I was at the supermarket first thing this morning, I wanted to get back home before the snow started. We’re not expecting much, just up to three inches. Glad I’m in for the rest of the day. I’m just going to take it easy, I need to fight off this cold. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful last weekend of 2017!
xx

Good morning Minta. I will say that your afternoon plans sound better than your morning ones... ;)
Be safe and have a fun final Friday of 2017...

Unfortunately my afternoon plans fell through. I wound up getting a lot of cleaning done and we planned a last minute poker game last night so I spent the late afternoon/early evening cooking food for the game but it was all good. Relaxing a bit now under my new blanket and with my dog snuggled up against me :)

Good Afternoon .. another cold day here today with a little light snow but its all good. Rather deal with this cold than 100 degrees and 100% humidity. Going to make another pot of soup today and maybe some homemade rolls. Hope everyone has a great day!
That is so true Minta!!! We need to start a June "grumping" thread on the heat and humidity.

Tonight, I got the case of the cold piggy toes!!!! I've got socks on, and I just went and put on a lined flannel shirt jacket. It's cold out for sure (supposed to go down to around 13 degrees tonight), and we got a few inches of snow today too. I got the wife a heating blanket for Christmas; (first one she ever owned and she does love it I must add), I just went over and put my toes under it to defrost them....

We are going to stay in tonight and just do the PJ thing. Got some Yankee Candles lit, Christmas music is on and I think we may order some Chinese tonight and just stay warm, snuggly and cozy!

Sounds ideal! We’re getting a little light snow, so we’re going to stay cozy tonight and watch some movies.

I'll take a 90 degree day over a 10 degree morning any day except for around Christmas time. Reason is when it's 90 outside I don't "run from my car for dear life" to get inside...but when it's 10 degrees I do and I notice a lot more people do it in the cold than the heat.

Once the temperature is over 80 I am miserable! I would much rather put on some extra layers to go outside than have to sweat in shorts in a t-shirt.
For years I worked with high school marching bands in the summer and fall. The one thing I always hated was spending band camp out in the heat. Standing outside in the middle of a field all day long with 90+ degrees, high humidity and no wind. YUCK!

My son Nathan is the total opposite of me. He hates the cold. Really, once it is below 65 he starts to get chilly.

It is really funny and interesting how everyone handles temperature differently.

I hope you get well soon. :} There must be something about having a cold or flu right before New Year though. I remember myself being down with some kind of viral infection in-between the festivities for many years in a row. Last year was no exception but I might actually be ok this year though (the only good thing about not being around people for weeks straight). I really like mixing raw honey with ginger and a bit of lemon juice for cold/flu. The combo tastes amazing and helps to beat all those bloody germs and viruses. :p

Thank you so much Victoria. I was sick this time last year as well. I’m sure all of that running around for the holiday catches up with people. I’m glad you’ve been able to avoid it so far. Wishing you a happy and healthy new year <3
