I have to admit, that puts it into perspective!
I went outside and my knees almost fell off..lol. Snow is to high for flipflops so I had to bust out the sneakers
We're going to have a high of five below zero Saturday and Sunday.

Ugh, I have a cold or maybe the flu. Feeling really blah and achy. Good thing I don't have to work today.

I can't believe it is Friday. Seems like it should only be Tuesday.
Still cold and a bit snowy here ~ lake effect showers are falling at the moment. It is light so there won't be a noticeable accumulation. The seven-day forecast doesn't look promising: cold and snowy.
I hope everyone has a safe and warm weekend!

Afternoon everyone.
Another relaxing day so far. I have done absolutely nothing productive... and it has been Great!
The snow should start falling in about an hour or so. We are supposed to get 2-3 inches tonight. Then the temperatures head back into the negatives. Highs will not be over 20 and lows will be below zero for several days.

Hi everyone! Temps in the single digits with snow allegedly on the way. Have a crock pot of homemade turkey noodle soup simmering and will make some biscuits to go with it. I have been taking it very easy this last week; recovering from the rush of the holidays. Had to take my live tree down yesterday because it was so dry (my fault for getting it the day before Thanksgiving but that is my tradition!). I was so sad to take it down but all the others are still up so it still looks festive in here. I hope everyone has a great Friday and hope everyone that is sick feels better fast!
Good Friday evening! It has been unbareably cold these past few days. It's currently -30°C/-22°F with the wind. We have a frozen pipe (or it's frozen somewhere below us), even though we've put a heater directly under the sink near the pipes for the past three days. Our landlord did not want to send a plumber at this time ($$$), so it's wait and hope that it thaws. Other than that I'm trying to stay warm and just relaxing with Loki while David is at a friend's. Hope everyone enjoys a great evening!
Hi Everyone! To all who are ill, take care and feel better soon! Too all who are in freezing temperatures (like myself) stay warm! We have had mounds of snow and will hit -22 with the wind chill! I only need snow Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, then it can go away. This kind of freezing cold, I never need. I know I’m not in the coldest part of Canada. But baby it’s cold outside!
Morning MMC on the last weekend of the year! Boy it's cold out there but we're pretty much stuck in this deep freeze so might as well deal with it. As I have said to people at least when it hits 30 degrees some day it's going to feel like San Diego. Speaking of San Diego my brother left yesterday which was sad. Last year he left on Dec 26th so this year at least I had a few extra days with him not to leave right after Christmas Day. I also am thinking how a week ago at this time we were at December 23rd which is about as exciting a day as it gets. Ahh well let's get ready for the New Year, the New Count and the New Thread!
Good morning, friends! Hope all is well is your part of the world. Already got some chili in the crockpot and it will be done in a few hours. The house will certainly have a nice aroma today! We went out last night to get a few groceries. As soon as we hit the store, you could see a noticeable difference in the size of the crowd. Doc and I talked about that as we walked into the building. It was a typical Friday night grocery store crowd, but NOTHING like what we have been accustomed to the last month and a half. It was bitter sweet. No more lines, but not more Christmas. Nonetheless, we still had a great evening together.
As I usually do this time of year, I'm busy cleaning house and removing items we no longer need. I think I have put about 10 garbage bags full of stuff to take and donate....and that is just after a couple of rooms. I hope to make some major headway today and get done.

A frosty Good Morning to everyone.
We are not doing too bad this morning at 35, bound for at least the mid 40's by this afternoon but that's it for "warm" weather for quite some time and we will be spending most of our nights in the teens for the foreseeable future.
(It has been correctly pointed out by some that I should feel grateful and I certainly get their point, but this is the south, for heaven's sake!)
Been watching the bowl games. The teams from this area are in the ACC so I tend to focus on games involving that conference. At this point, the ACC is 4-3 with two more games scheduled for today.

Well, the ground is truly covered in snow. We have about 4 inches and the temperatures are going to be dropping.
This evening we are having our last Christmas of the season. With so many different parts of the family it is impossible to get them all on Christmas day, so it always takes a few extra days either before or after Christmas day itself.
In the not as fun department, I need to write my thesis proposal this weekend. It is due Sunday night. Have I started it yet you asked? No not really. I mean, I already wrote a shorter proposal and I have all of my sources and such. However, I have not actually started writing this one. I might start it today. It will take me a few hours total.
Though it is still a few days away, school is coming back up. We go back on Wednesday. However, the cold might at least give us delays on Wednesday and Thursday. It really depends on how much wind there is.

Lol!! Crown I spent 23 years in Jaxs and winter is always miserable in NC for the most part.
