Merry Saturday MMC ~
It’s going to be sunny but cold today, highs near 30 degrees. I have to do some food shopping this morning. I’ll be working on the laundry afterward. My husband and I will be attending a 50th birthday party later this evening for a friend I went to high school with, should be lots of fun. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful weekend!
xx
Hope you had fun at the birthday party!!

Good morning and happy Sunday!

My wife and I traveled to Detroit on Friday for the Postmodern Jukebox concert. Everything was PERFECT!

We drove up on Friday, leaving around 11:00am. We stopped just outside of Detroit at a comic book store. We arrived at the hotel just after 3:00. We stayed at the Westin Book Cadillac. It is an old hotel where many famous folks have stayed. We went to dinner at a nice local place called the Savannah Blue. The food and drinks were fabulous. We walked to the theatre, The Fillmore, for the concert. The Fillmore was amazing! The decor, the seating, everything.

Our seats were insanely close to the stage. We were in the center of the stage, in the 2nd row! I have never been so close to the stage at a concert. At one point one of the singers jumped down from the stage and was standing right in front of us. To top the experience off, my wife had also gotten us VIP passes. So, after the show we were taken below the theatre to meet the band. I was expecting to have the band sitting at a big table and we would be hurried past them as we said hi. However, that was not it at all.

They took pictures of everyone with the band and then said, "ok, it's meet and greet time." The band just walked around and talked with everyone. It was amazing! I was able to spend some time talking to the drummer, which was awesome. We talked about the show for a minute, but then he started asking me about type of drumset I played and we just talked about drum equipment for a while. It was an awesome experience.

If you are not familiar with Postmodern Jukebox, you should look them up on Youtube. They are amazing musicians and performers.
Glad you had such a fun time!! Hope you & your family enjoyed the SB!!

Hello! Just checking in here to see if there was anyone here, besides myself, that doesn't watch football; lol.

We just got in. It's raining pretty hard now outside, a damp, cold, bone chilling rain. I'd so much, rather have it snowing right now instead of this rain.

We ventured on out earlier this evening and ran a few errands, got dinner, did some grocery shopping and such, pretty much waited for the crowds to die down at the grocery store before we did our shopping.

Tonight, I'm going to see if the Mrs is up to watching The Walton's Homecoming/ A Christmas Story! I just love that movie. A simpler time, a simpler way of life, a good way to live... There's a many of times I wish I was born a hundred years or more ago when the way of life was harder in some ways, but yet, so much simpler than it is today.

Hope you all have a safe a pleasant evening.
I just bought my mom the 10 DVD series of Loves Comes Softly. I'm pretty sure I'm more excited about watching it than she is!

man, it's only now starting to snow where we are - like, properly. We barely had a dusting before Christmas. Typical!

Bring on the season...
Hope you get the snow you are waiting for!!! Our forecast has changed quite a bit. We went from 5-8" tomorrow night to less than an inch. Boooooo!

Good morning all. It is my fondest wish and prayer that you all have a safe and enjoyable 2018 (and beyond). May you be granted good health, a level of prosperity to keep you and your comfortable and the peace that only God can provide.
Lastly that you hold onto that childlike spirit that keep the home fires of Christmas burning brightly as any star in the sky.
So for 2018, let me be the first...

How nice! Same to you CGY!

Good morning MMC ~
Happy Monday!
It’s going to be sunny, windy and cold today, highs near 34 degrees. Not too much going on here. I need to make a Target run and then I’ll be working on my daily chores. Dinner will be meatball & tortellini soup with mozzarella bread. That’s about it for me. Hope everyone has a nice day and a great week ahead!
xx
It is a GREAT soup day!! Hope you have a wonderful day! Give that little Rocky a hug from me!

Morning MMC. What a game last night! Definitely exciting. Sad to see the NFL end for the next 7 months but when it returns the best time of year (The Bers) will be starting again! Unreal to think that and I love following the off-season. Too much good food last night. Taking Rollins to the vet for a check up today on my day off and then going to IHOP. Have a great day!
Glad to hear your SB food was yummy!! Enjoy your day off. I hope Rollins appointment goes well!! Poor guy. Give him extra hugs!!!

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

The sun is finally shining after a rainy weekend. I spent most of the weekend trapped at home while Nancy used my truck for errands. Like I said before; too many drivers, too few vehicles.

I spent yesterday afternoon doing I.T. work at mom's. She got a new computer at Christmas, and finally got internet last week, so I installed updates and anti-virus software. I got her Echo Dot working, and she's having fun with that LOL.

I didn't watch the game, but we went to a SB party with some great taco soup at Nancy's sister's house. I've never really followed football closely, and I care even less now that they're dragging politics into the game.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Praying for you, Coach. :)
Nice of you to get mom all set up! I'm sure she appreciates it!!
Have a great day Brad!!

Good Morning MMC...it was a great game last night and I am feeling a bit tired today so I may need an extra cup of coffee today...lol
I am going to catch up on laundry tonight and I need to run to the grocery store later.
Hope you all have a great Monday!
I understand about the extra cup of coffee! I hope you had a good time at your friends!

Good Morning, MMC!!! Well I was up half the night celebrating New England’s loss and listening to the Philadelphia destroy part of their city. How stupid. Not much happening today. We got a little bit of snow overnight, so I need to get out there and shovel. Then I have a few errands to run. I hope everyone has a great day!!
LOL - isn't that crazy?? (Philly) Ridiculous! Stay safe & warm shoveling!! Have a good day made!

Glad to hear your SB food was yummy!! Enjoy your day off. I hope Rollins appointment goes well!! Poor guy. Give him extra hugs!!!
He got sent home for biting the nurses lol. One of them was like "You're so cute why are you so mean to me?" He just was overly anxious today and didn't want anyone touching him. They gave me a little anti-anxiety pill to give him and take him back in an hour.

My keurig died, so I’ve been coffee less for a few days now. It’s been a sad sad time. I really need to make up my mind on if I want to get another one or just a regular coffee pot.

Have a great day, SFM!!
Noooo, not the Keurig!!! I have one at home & one at the lake, but even better yet, I love my Christmas present which I keep at work. A fresh press coffee "maker" $30 on Amazon

Delicious coffee!!

Have a great day Holiday!!
I am happy to hear your Mom's brunch went well..I am sure she was happy to have you all there..

My husband was not too happy with the game but he thought the Eagles played better so oh well! I ate way too much...lol so I will be hitting the gym later..
It was a good game - I didn't intently watch it, but I kept up with the scoring, etc. I can honestly say I ate NO Super bowl food. I was so miserable after moms brunch, by half time I finally felt human again. Ha ha!!
Have a great day SFM!

I'm not a pro football fan, but I was pleased with the outcome of the game.

We had a busy weekend. DH bought a new suit (he's lost 70 pounds so far and still going), DH & DD played for FIL's Pastor Appreciation Day yesterday, then DH played and sang at the funeral of a fellow church member last night.

No school today or tomorrow because of the flu. All "sick days" are used up as of today. They can use one of the two teacher in service days for tomorrow. After that, they'll probably start losing day off of spring break, which is scheduled for the last week in March. DD was just starting to get her school groove back and now we've stalled out again.

February already!
Congrats to your hubby. That's no easy task!!
The flu seems to be un-escapable this year!! Hope everyone is healthy soon! Have a great day Whitney!

Oh yikes!! Rollins!! He didn't mean to do it!!! Hope the next trip goes much better! Poor sweetie!!

Good afternoon. Last night's game was a great! Didn't appreciate the idiot in the neighborhood setting off fireworks and firecrackers at 2 am. Extra coffee today for sure. Yesterday I found this cute 5 piece (4 mason jars and a metal caddy) set. The box shows it being used to hold flatware but I am going to turn mine into a Hot Cocoa Caddy. Going to fill 3 of the jars with different hot cocoa mix and place plastic spoons in the 4th. I think this will make it easier for my kids to make hot cocoa whenever they wants some. I am thinking about picking up another one for my daughter. She has several of my mason jars in her room for her makeup brushes so this I figured this caddy will be perfect for her.

Friends, it hasn't been a good week.

I lost my Dad. Talked to him last Sunday night. Tried calling him on Monday night. No answer. Tried calling him on Tuesday night. No answer. That wasn't normal behavior, but Dad was known to work late or go to sleep early, so I just didn't think much of it. On Wednesday, we got a call from his work saying that he hadn't been to work all week. When the police broke into his camper, they found him in his bed. They believe he passed away Sunday night/early Monday morning.

Tomorrow, we have his funeral. We haven't got his body back, yet. There are some issues going on with it in Texas, so we are just going to have a little ceremony and then take visitors at our church. I think I have been going on adrenaline for three days, but I can feel the crash coming. I'm getting highly irritable, angry, and just mad at the world.

I haven't even cried, yet.

My dad was my hero. However, he just didn't take care of himself. He had a heart attack, two strokes, and was a diabetic....who didn't take his medicine or eat the way he was supposed. Right before Thanksgiving, I really laid into him about it. Said ugly, ugly things that he needed to hear....but it was so ugly. Right now, I regret it so...

Our conversation Sunday night was longer than usual. We talked about the Super Bowl, our plans for hunting season, and his granddaughters....he always talked about his girls.

I'm not sure how to get through tomorrow. I don't want to go to sleep....don't want to face the day. I know it is what I have to do, but that doesn't make it any easier.

I'm not sure who you talk to when you go to sleep at night, but please pray strength for our family.
Sorry for your loss...There are no words to mend the frustration and pain you are going through...Praying for healing, resolution, comfort, and peace.

Poor Rollins!....Leo is a wreck at the vet's office and this past time they gave some meds for the next time I bring him in....hope he is ok!

What a cozy idea!!
