Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends.
I mentioned yesterday about the kid at Elizabeth's school that was making threatening comments. He went to school again yesterday saying he was planning to kill students and teachers. The students that heard it told the headmaster, who called the sheriff. After the sheriff's interview with the boy, he was escorted from the school, and now the GA Bureau of Investigation is coming in.
This kid isn't even in upper school yet! He's around 8th grade! I don't know him, but I understand he's from a troubled family, and now lives with his grandparents. They've been paying his tuition, but have obviously missed something important in him. Of course, two generations separate the grandparents from grandson, and they may not even recognize that such things are possible these days. This is why I'm convinced that a stable, two parent, loving family is the only thing that can really save our children from themselves.
The boy might just be "full of mud" and bravado, thinking this will make him sound tough, or at least get him some attention. If so, he just got a world of attention. But we just can't risk our kids on the hope that this kid isn't crazy.
Bless his heart, I hope this is something he wants to (or can) come back from. And MY MOST SINCERE THANKS to the kids who had the courage to report the threat.
Please take care, my friends, and give your kids an extra hug!
