Morning MMC. We had company over the last couple of nights so it's thrown off my week a little (not bad though). I went to the dentist yesterday for my 6 month checkup and got a good report as he said "clean as a whistle" after taking X-Rays. Believe it or not the secretary made my 6 month appointment for August 21. I said that seems so far from now and her reply "it will come fast." I remember going to the dentist last August and thinking I won't come back here till after all the holidays and even the winter are almost over. That seemed crazy back in August to think of yet it really did seem like yesterday. Time waits for nobody. See you at the Pines!
I have a couple projects on my desk that are requested for delivery at the end of August, and every time I look at them I think, "The 'Bers will start right after that!" LOL

Here at our small private school there's a kid who's always been standoffish, and has told a couple other students that he's thought about a violent act at school. The vast odds are, he's just a child thinking this might get him some attention, but it can't be risked in these times. Several parents are going to the school to discuss the matter today, and I'm afraid he'll get more attention than he or his family wants.
We just had a similar incident as well....a kid in my daughter's class posted some very odd things on Instagram, some parents notified the principal and the police were called to look into it..it is such a scary world we live in but I believe everything needs to be investigated because you never know.

Hope all goes well at Elizabeth's school.

This is so cute and so true!

Good morning MMC ~
Merry Pines Day!
I’ve been up since 3:00am with Rocky. Just when I think he’s got this sleeping through the night thing down the little stinker throws me for a loop. Of course he’s sound asleep now but I need to start my day. I’m going to cook breakfast for everyone in a few minutes. I tidied up and started laundry already. I need to run to the supermarket for my mid week food shopping trip. I’ll be working on my daily chores this afternoon. Maybe I’ll squeeze a nap in at some point, we’ll see what happens. Dinner will be angel hair pasta with meatballs, a big tossed salad and Italian bread. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well. Wishing all of you a wonderful day!!!
xx
That little stinker...lol but he is so adorable!
Hope you can get in a nap today.
We had that exact same dinner on Monday night!

Good Morning, Folks.
It's mid-week again. (Seems like it just was, this time last week.)

But what definitely IS different is our count numbers.
Here they are for today:
Days to the Season: 265
Days to Christmas Day: 307

And what is also different is our distance from 2018 Milestone marker number three, the 300-Day Christmas Day Window.
As of this date, we are now exactly ONE WEEK away from that auspicious point.
Then, a double 200's level count will commence!

Nice and warm yesterday, when we topped out at 73.
And joy of joys, we will be in the 70's for highs the next FIVE days.
(With Februarys like this, I could upgrade the month from my second least favorite!)
We currently record 64 degrees here at our place.

Well Guys, it's 'Pines Day once again.
Hard to believe the next one will be on the last day of February.
Then, March. (A much more "optimistic" month for me!)
Carl says he's got something special planned for our final February open house next week. As for this evening.....well.....even more of the same old same old is bound to be entertaining, right?

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everyone!
Thanks, Crown...happy Pines!

Happy Pines Day!!
It is supposed to see 70 today, we will see if it gets that high but it is so strange for February!
I have to take my daughter for a re-check for her ankle so she can get a note so she can go back to gym for the semester. Otherwise should be a quiet night.
Hope you all have a great day!

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends.

I mentioned yesterday about the kid at Elizabeth's school that was making threatening comments. He went to school again yesterday saying he was planning to kill students and teachers. The students that heard it told the headmaster, who called the sheriff. After the sheriff's interview with the boy, he was escorted from the school, and now the GA Bureau of Investigation is coming in.

This kid isn't even in upper school yet! He's around 8th grade! I don't know him, but I understand he's from a troubled family, and now lives with his grandparents. They've been paying his tuition, but have obviously missed something important in him. Of course, two generations separate the grandparents from grandson, and they may not even recognize that such things are possible these days. This is why I'm convinced that a stable, two parent, loving family is the only thing that can really save our children from themselves.

The boy might just be "full of mud" and bravado, thinking this will make him sound tough, or at least get him some attention. If so, he just got a world of attention. But we just can't risk our kids on the hope that this kid isn't crazy.

Bless his heart, I hope this is something he wants to (or can) come back from. And MY MOST SINCERE THANKS to the kids who had the courage to report the threat.

Please take care, my friends, and give your kids an extra hug!

I heard on the news this morning that at a school in a nearby town a loaded magazine was found months ago, but parents weren't notified until after the Florida shooting this week. The school authorities never reported it to the police. Parents were furious and screaming at a Town Hall meeting---and rightfully so. Sadly, these things can't just be ignored in hopes they'll go away.

Good morning MMC! Merry Pines Day!!!

It's much cooler today with rain, rain, rain!! The wind & rain pounding on our window woke us both up overnight. It was really pouring! We are currently at 42º - supposed to drop as the day goes on. A bit of a change from the 73º yesterday!

All over the world, it's Wiggle Butt Wednesday...at our house it's Muddy Butt Mid-week!!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

With schools having a vacation week and the college on my commute route also on vacation for the week, it took me about half the time to get to work this morning! Note to self to leave later the rest of the week!

We're expecting temps around 72F today, near our all-time February record ... then some snow showers tomorrow. Wha ... ??

In spite of the Monday holiday, I'm ready for another weekend already. I'm into the second week of a cold that is really draining my energy and interrupting my sleep.

Very well said Bradmac and such a very sad story about this young student. I hope that these interventions prevent another tragedy like in Florida.

Oh wow, I could not imagine having to wash Loki so often. Lucy likes mud? Does she like baths?

Good Wednesday midday. Spent the morning shopping around for a coffee table. Pics have been taken, a choice will be made at some point. Another very mild and rainy day. We'll watch one or two movies today and go out to a new sushi/asian place nearby that is getting rave reviews. Have a wonderful day everyone!

She does love mud. We rarely had to give her a bath until these last few days with all the rain!!!! She doesn't love a bath, but she may get use to them!! ;)
