Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

I have the worst sore throat I've had in a while, it woke me up at 3am, and I can't speak. I don't think Nancy minds that part. The streets are yellow with pollen this morning, and you could see it blowing in the breeze yesterday, so I'm pretty sure where the sore throat came from.

We're supposed to have rain today, and I'm praying it will come and wash away all this yellow Devil-dust!

It was really good. Mom's neighbor lady (My Mom #2) said it was the best meal she has ever had!! (and she said she wasn't kidding!) LOL!! I kind of combined your recipe w/ the Pioneer Woman's recipe - the only difference was adding corn & celery. I used a refrigerated pie crust & topped with mashed potatoes. YUM!!!

It is one of my favorite meals as well, glad you enjoyed it

It really was, with the rain and all. Since it was a "Rudolph weekend" (24th and 25th), I worked on winter hats for charity. The cough is almost gone, and I think the energy level is creeping back up.

I just ordered more polymer clay crochet hooks. My Size "G" has been MIA for awhile & I miss it. I've been wanting to order a couple for my sister (My Godmother) who constantly has a crochet hook in her hand (when not holding a Grandbaby ) - she's never crocheted with them & I'm excited to get them for her. I crocheted a little at lunch - 3 3/4 rows to go!!!! xx

Well my sister made it to work today but Katie only made it about 15 minutes before she got sent home with a fever. So of course, Uncle mark to the rescue again. I think I’m going to start charging my sister child support because I have her kids more than she does. Lol!! I hope everyone is having a great day!!!

Thanks!! I just relaxed and cleaned up the mess the girls made.

You seriously do deserve uncle of the year award!! Most everyone enjoys seeing their nieces & nephews but when you become more of a caregiver than an uncle, it can get stressful!!! I was there at one point in my life... (only I was the aunt...LOL) - but it can be frustrating!! Hope everyone is healthy very soon!!!

Ooh ... I haven't seen that type of a hook.

Some years ago I bought a complete set of Brittany black-walnut hooks, and I use those a LOT. When I temporarily misplace one I'm terribly afraid of accidentally sitting or stepping on it and breaking it, because Brittany stopped making hooks of black walnut, so they're irreplaceable. They look like this (not mine---found the photo online):



When we're screening films downstairs, I use plain old plastic hooks. I don't care if I sit or step on one of those!

I hear they're doing away with the deductions for dependents ... our tax preparer mentioned it. Next year it's a thing of the past.
