Christmas Countdown - 2018

Happy first day of Spring; snow is supposed to start here around midnight, I believe. Because some of our school district is in the mountains, I'm afraid that last teacher in service day in May will be a school day to make up for closing tomorrow. However, we were supposed to get tornadoes last night, but just had rain & thunder. I like a little snow, but I'm ready for Spring!

And how scary about your tire. I'm glad you were ok & there was no damage other than the tire. EEK!!!!

Thank you! It was on a two-lane local road with almost no shoulder, so it was a challenge to get far enough off the road. I can't believe the tow truck was able to squeeze in to pick up my car! But thank goodness, after it happened, everything went my way. Tow truck was there in 20 minutes, the car got to my shop before it closed, I was able to get their last loaner car to get to work today, there was no damage besides the tire itself, and I can pick it up after work and get it home before the snow starts tomorrow. I must have an angel on my shoulder!

I think you will ... is your generator ready to go? Even here they're warning about the wet, heavy snow bringing down branches, trees, and power lines.

We just got an invitation to my nephew & his wife's baby shower. It's going to be at my brother/sil house - they are having a cook out & it's going to be a gender reveal on a Saturday afternoon at the end of April. I haven't broke it to my hubby yet, but guys are invited too - couples shower. He will be THRILLED...NOT!

Found a couple of Christmas movies at a local thrift store today.

Just relaxing this evening as tomorrow I have a lot of hauling of items around and straightening. The displays I did today turned out pretty good, so I am happy, albeit tired.

Well ... the 2018 FORD Women's Curling Championships are going on in my neck of the woods. Great for tourism, but hard to find a parking spot when you want to hit the gym for a work out. Luckily (or not), I can walk to the fitness centre so I have no excuses. Wasn't as busy as I thought it would be bright and early in the morning. Nothing starts until 9 a.m. guess that's why I had access to my cardio equipment, same locker, etc.

To be honest, I haven't really worked out much in the last few weeks and yesterday was a good one.

Are you planning on taking in some live curling? Such a great caliber at Worlds. I still can't accept that Canada did not win any medals in curling at the Olympics. Nice for you that you were able to get a good workout in.

Nooooo.... unfortunatly, it’s buried somewheres in my storage locker and so if we lose power, we lose heat. If we lose the heat,theres only one thing left to do and that is....

Don't forget the new curling event in this year's Olympics. Kaitlyn Lawes and John Morris won gold in the mixed doubles event. May I say "Go Canada Go!!".

Merry Pines Day!
I’m just having my coffee and watching the local news, they increased our snowfall totals for today. We’re now expecting up to 12 inches here on the island. My two oldest are scheduled to work, I’m praying they get sent home early. I don’t think I will ever stop worrying about them driving in this kind of weather. So I’ll just be hanging out at home today, I have plenty of chores to do around the house. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day. Be safe!

Morning MMC. We're expecting our 4th Nor'Easter of March. I won't even mention there's the possibility of a 5th Sunday cause it's getting completely ridiculous lol. But anyway right now the flurries are light so I'm going to go in to work and then leave early most likely depending on when it gets bad out. Be careful if you're in the storm...and I really look forward to the real spring whenever it finally shows up!

Well, yesterday may have been the first day of spring, but it certainly did not seem like it, with rather raw, rainy weather.
Today may even see some light snow, but owing to temps above freezing, it should not be an issue.
We are overcast and wet here at this hour and have a temperature reading of 36 degrees.

As we have now reached mid-week, we once again look forward to our weekly visit to the Shispering Pines to see what our friendly activities director is up to. This being the first open house of spring, can only mean a related theme. Be sure to show up to see what it is!

Three of my friends have won tickets. CBC Breakfast TV will be setting up at the gym on Friday, might catch me after my work out.
I was going to buy tickets for my husband because he really likes curling (so does O'Malley - he doesn't chase the rocks on the TV as much as he did when he was younger). hubbins decided he didn't want to go because it would be too cold and it would be too crowded.

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

Elizabeth's Girl's Trio won First in State! As a matter of fact, several of our school's events won First in State, and our school won overall First in State! It was such an awesome day, and the kids all did a superb job. We were at a college in middle GA, and it took all day. We got home about 10:45 last night. Boy, I was tired after getting up at 5am to get Elizabeth going.

I have to leave early today to go to a funeral for a neighbor. He was on the city council while I was mayor (and beyond), and lived a couple doors down from us.
