Most of my favorite Christmas songs are of that vintage vibe

Ohhhh @e_xander I knew I'd like you. that's awesome

I played this a few years ago on one of the radio hours, after playing a MAE WEST record. Brings new meaning to Johnny singing, "I don't want this old baby for Christmas!"

Which is also the reason I absolutely enjoy @Duke Allen and @MerryCarey's hours when Tracking Santa on Kringle Radio

That was Mae West's "Santa Baby." She was what, 77 when she recorded that?

bwha ha ha ha...

Johnny Preston’s big hit was “Running Bear,” a teenage-tragedy song that hit #1 in 1960. His next two singles charted fairly high, then the fourth became a top-40 hit in Britain…and the fifth died: “New Baby for Christmas.” Nice enough record, but it didn’t have enough beat for a dance tune, and it didn’t have enough “story” to resonate with the teen audience, like "Running Bear" did.

Mae West would HIT you if you broached how old she was when she made that record. It's from the LP "Wild Christmas," recorded in 1966.

I don't have that queued up, but I could find it on YouTube, if anyone's curious.

Uh-oh, I may be related to Mae West then when age is brought up.

Thanks, Jeff. "Awwwm, the reindeers is comin' ..."
