Shall we all go down to the Shispering Pines and stalk eggnog & fired twinkies together?
We could visit with Carl for a while and Binger can binge on whatever coffee blend he's experimenting with now.
 
Hey!!! You just reminded me...On the radio show that I did I play a song called "Home By Another Way" by James Taylor. In the song they mention the camels that the three Wise Men rode...I mentioned Carl, and that he claimed to be a relative of those fine camels from two-thousand years ago...

Let's for for the twinkies...I've been back on my diet this week and I'm ready to tear into some of the healthy snacks that we Americans call Twinkies!!!

:hello: Just one more item for Binger to apply to his next Opera at the Shispering Pines Opera House

... suddenly Auntie Mistletoe enters chasing eggnog containers all over the stage interrupting JayIsh's Paux De Lux-soap, etc.

The rain let up, but the digital cable is out. They're diligently working on it so we're told via technical help line. We're not the only ones without it, seems to be south of here and a bit north, west and east too.

cheesy Found my father a great looking Mike Weir golf shirt. Funny thing is I ran into him at the mall. I said, "uh oh, don't look!" We talked a bit made plans for Sunday and one of my brother's is coming up too because he's in a celebrity golf tournament to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.
 
Hope I do this right after reading everyones posts. Sunny here, hot & humid. Occasional off & on showers, highs in the 80's.

The "he" refers to Carl, who is not only not gender-neutral, he's not neutral about anything!

Dom - the nationwide reaction to Tim Russert's death is huge! There are wonderful tributes to him today on MSNBC and CNN and the major networks. Everyone seems to have appreciated his hard work, dedication to truth, and warm and pleasant manner. I big loss for our country.
 
Good day all...Lovely Saturday here. Temps. in the 70's with a slight breeze. Got my yard all mowed and now doing a little watering. Hope everyone is having a great day. I plan to BBQ some chicken on the grill a little later.

Someone else passed away today. The world didn't know her, but those who knew her (and those who knew her very well - she was a private person) will miss her greatly. My friend, Pat lost her battle with cancer this morning.

Jack Lemmon once remarked, "Death ends a life, but it doesn't end the relationship." I tend to agree.

If you have the time between posting and being pampered and have the opportunity, grab a good Father's Day flick and settle in for some viewing.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is a good father and dad movie. Really.
Star Wars, when your father turns out to be Darth Vader - well...
East of Eden There's a classic. Two brothers fighting over their fathers love.
Ted Danson and Jack Lemmon and young Ethan Hawke deliver a touching performance in DAD.

And while you're at it, you could always toss in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation or It's A Wonderful Life - George Bailey was a father so it counts as a Father's Day film not just a Christmas one.

Or if you have the collection you can relax to Father Knows Best or My Three Son's, etc.

Looking for something to do with your dad today or to involve your children in something for their father ...
How about playing a game of Mini-Putt or carrying dad’s golf bag around the 18 holes.
Take the opportunity to enjoy flying kites or playing a game of catch.
Dig out that old monopoly, clue, battleship or trivial pursuit game and have a family games night for old time sake.
Maybe you can just give up the TV remote for the day without batting an eyelash.
