Christmas Countdown - 2009

Good afternoon!! I have been on vaca since last week Thurs & when I just now logged on, there are 1020 new posts to catch up on! YIKES!!! Christmas must be getting close!!!! I'm looking forward to reading what I missed out on! Hope you are all having a great day!!

The plan for today is to bake some goodies. I haven't decide what yet but if it is going to be cool out I should fire up the oven and bake. Hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

I baked quite a bit over the weekend & it was cool here!!! I LOVED IT!!! I made some orange drop cookies, homemade cream horns, we made wings & brats on the grill & I made some onions au gratin to go with them & last night I tried a new recipe: Slow Cooker Enchilada's. YUM! Plus it's tomato canning season, so I've done lots of salsa in the last week!! I can tell fall is coming cuz I'm in baking mode!!!

Strangest thing happened to me this morning. I woke up and it just felt like Christmas. My wife and I usually do things a little differently. We kick up everything Christmas in mid September (100 days til Christmas) which we are about 3 weeks away from. Periodically through the year we will watch a Christmas movie here or there and we limit our Christmas music to only my piano lessons. Last night we decided to finally watch the Polar Express in 3D which was simply amazing. If you haven't watched it in 3D you all should really check it out.
Getting off track, but this morning when I woke up it just felt like my countdown was unnecessary and I am ready for all things Christmas. I got up and immediatly came to MMC which I haven't really looked at since Christmas last year. I just think that it's amazing that I'm 33 years old and today when I woke up I felt like a kid. I feel like this every year but never in August. It is such a wonderful feeling. Just felt like sharing.

I've been struggling to replace the broken deck belt on my lawn mower for the last day or two. I swear, lawn mowers are getting as complicated as cars. :-?

The summer crickets are singing and it's a beautiful 74 degrees with no rain in the forecast.
Can't get much better than that in these parts in August!

Good morning, everyone!

I mean, where is everyone? I was expecting a flood of posts due to the milestone we have reached. Oh well! Happy Milestone to all! Obviously two thirds marks the four month countdown to Christmas as well. It always feels so nice when the date on the calendar hits the 25th! 80 days until the season is a great feeling too. A celebratory day all-around! Well, with the exception of the fact that it is a Tuesday, but I guess these weeks have just been flying by that it will be the weekend in no time anyway.

We are forecasted to reach the low 80s with humidex today. Judging by the forecast, this will be our final day with humidity until at least next week. The summer is certainly winding down. Hopefully everyone is doing all right and the lack of posts are not some weird sign. Enjoy the Milestone Tuesday, everyone!

Hey All!
Im back. I was out last monday to sunday with 2 kidney stones. Im feeling better but was taken to the hospital twice with servere pains. Passed out twice as well. But Im doing better now. Stupid stones are still rattling around in there somewhere! lol. OH OH! I saw Halloween stuff! Two isles of it in the Dollar Store!!!! I was showing my 5 month old son the stuff lol. My Wife said "You dont need anymore Halloween stuff" lol I said I know, just showing William hehe. AND My Mother in Law gave me her extra copy of the Sears Christmas Wish Book 2009!! Woopeee!! Kidney stones? Ouch! At least you're feeling better now. That must have been quite rough. I have not yet been out to a store that would have Halloween decorations or anything. Perhaps I will visit the mall sometime this weekend to take a peak. Otherwise, I'll ask my mom how much is out at Zellers back home. She is a supervisor there and usually informs me about the arrival of seasonal displays.

Brent - Yes the Nurse said she has had a child and has had a kidney stone, she would rather have another child then a kidney stone. Yeah I was surprised to see Halloween stuff in the Dollar Store!

Mumof2 - My Mother in Law gets it because she has a Sears credit card. They were mailed out to her last week and she had been given two. Mind you this is in Canada. Not sure if they are late in the States with the books.
