Well....this is the first time I've had a chance to get on today and it's already four! Been working....not what I want to do, but what I need to do....

Trying to talk wife into going and doing some Christmas shopping, she was telling me while she was at the mall yesterday, they were already decorating and putting stuff out! If we go, I will post pictures. Hope your day is as good as mine! See you later today or in the morning!

Hello everyone! Yesterday was a busy day for me. I went to school and on my way home my friend called me begging me to come to some kind of vendor auction that she was working at all day. So I went to help her out because she didn't have anyone at her table. Well soon people started rolling in but, I stayed all day anyway. I ended up bidding on a few items but didn't win. The bids were either .25, .50 or .75 depending on the value of the basket. So when a Christmas basket was up for bid I put my .75 in the bucket and held up my paddle. Once you bid and all of the money is turned in they pull a number out of the tub and if it's your number and you bid on it then you win. Well, my number hadn't been called all day and I didn't think I'd win but to my surprise I heard my number and I won the basket!!! I was so excited. I haven't torn into the basket yet to check out all of the stuff inside but I won a $50 basket full of stuff for .75!!! Good deal! Then after that was done I went home, got ready and met my friend for some drinks. Busy, busy day. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Christmasstar...that is one heck of a cake!

Made, if not Talladega...I don't know where!

Now, this is more like it....not getting on here yesterday until late in the day really didn't seem quite right...had a late night Friday. Slept a little later on Saturday morning....and then had to do some work which led to getting on here round 3ish! didn't like one bit!!

My uncle is also visiting. he is quite a bit older than my Dad. Seeing as how he lives on the other side of the US, we don't see each other very often. It's been two years since the last time and before that was almost 8 years. Can't believe he is almost 70 yrs. old. Where oh where does time go? Amazing. Just amazing.

COLD here...35 degrees (yes!). It might not look like Christmas yet, but it sure as heck feels like it!

Coffee empty....gonna make more! See ya in a few!

Hi Sila!!!!!!!!!

Hey everybody! Just touching base. I'd've thought wedding season would've been slowing down by now but it's not and I've had 4 weddings in 2 days. Do you get the reasoning behind this - the bride was getting ready in the hotel the wedding was taking place in (wedding @ 1pm) and she STILL wasn't in her dress at 1.25pm and couldn't quite grasp the concept that I had another wedding on the other side of town at 2pm!!! On top of this, I've landed myself a lovely little ENT infection; can't swallow and my ears hurt a lot. Hooray - give me a reason to wear my plaid earmuffs!!!

Take care everybody - start tossing around the idea of a chat next Sunday night (Oct. 25th) Let me know what you think!!!

Good morning..... already on my 3rd cup of coffee this morning...soo good! Sitting here listening to Christmas music and just relaxing. Make a bunch of cookies Friday and then make a turkey breast for dinner yesterday.... The weather may be nasty but its has been a nice weekend regardless. May start bring down the Christmas lights tonight to test them and get them ready to put up next month.

It's really closing in, Folks!

Cold here this morning, where we stand at 46. Getting too chilly for a comfortable walk!
Only low to mid 50's predicted for a high today, but a nice warm trend is expected starting tomorrow.

Which brings me to another travel/absence alert.
With nice weather expected also at the coast, my father and I will make one last trip over to prepare our cottage for the winter.
We were lucky and found a nice older couple who wants to rent the place from November to April.
Not only does that mean more income, we won't have to worry about the place during the winter months!
Anyway, we will be leaving Tuesday morning (going to the Fair tomorrow!) and will return Friday. A countdown volunteer is needed for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings.

Well I have been slow getting around today. I decided to sleep in a little this morning and then I started paula deen on QVC. I will probally watch some football today even though the colts are off this week and then I might do some christmas shopping. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good afternnon everyone!

cheesyThe Operation Christmas child program is off to a great start.

We handed out 100 boxes at church this morning for people to fill!!
I will have to make sure we get some more for next week.
It is so exciting to see people willing to step up and help with this wonderful outreach to children, some of whom this is the first gift they have ever received.

I got to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and fill them in on how short a time they have until Christmas. (while wearing my flashing Christmas earrings, which worked great for getting everyone's attention!) They looked rather surprised that there is only 10 weeks until Christmas. It was fun to get to head this up this year.
