Remembering

Today is Remembrance Day.
This day one we set aside to remember and honor those who gave their lives so that we can live in freedom today.

Christmas is a day we set aside to remember that a child was born who would one day give His life so that we could live in freedom.

It is so amazing that one child could so influence this world. Almost everyone has heard about Him, whether they believe He is who He says He is or not.

He came to give the ultimate gift of love, and that love has spread like a ripple in a pond after a stone has been dropped into it.

Every Christmas we continue to add to that ripple of love, spreading it out ever further.

Joy to the world! The Lord is come:
let earth receive her King!
Let every heart prepare him room,
and heaven and nature sing.

ive taken out a minute to honour our servicemen....Thank God for them!!! or we'll never know how we'd be living now.

Hey everyone...Undrtakr hope everything works out for you! I have to take my oldest son, Evan ( 2 years old) to get tested for H1N1 tonight. I dont have any time left to take off work so I cant even be with him when he is feeling so sick today:-?. His Doctors office usually would wait a day or two before they brought him in to be tested but with me having a 3 month old they are quite worried and if he does test positive need to get meds in him ASAP in hopes that my 3 month old wont catch it..or else we will be in the hospital. Please pray for my son's. I know I can always count on you guys. You know I try to do everything I can to prevent something like this from happening... My husband and I got the vaccine and also my 2 1/2 year old but in between doses ( kids need 2 doses of the vaccine) we were around my best friend who tested positive last week. Of course she didnt feel sick and we had no idea she was infected at the time. I try to keep him outside at the park and wash his hands a lot and he still gets sick.. I know all kids do but this H1N1 really scares me. Sorry for dragging on.. hope everyone is having a better day then me!

Praying for your family.

I just got back from working and I was glad to see how many people have started decorating their houses. In the 67 miles I drove this morning I came across 15 houses that were all decorated for christmas outside. It brought a smile to my face every time I passed one.

I've yet to see Christmas decorations outside of houses. But a yard down the street has a big blow-up turkey and that makes me happy for now!

I´m praying the est comes back negative! Kandice had to see the doctor, too, today....and she was tested for it, too....and the final result comes back tomorrow...I<m so worried....she takes tamiflu already, because of her sensitive lungs and the bronchitis she always has...:(

Prayers are going out for your little girl, Track. I hope all turns out well.

Well we went hunting yesterday after my conference and daughter's piano lessons. We ended up getting a buck...got it home, skinned it then dealt with the meat and packaging. I'm not a big fan of deer meat but we cooked some up this evening and it tasted great. I really enjoy antelope, elk and moose isn't bad. But for some reason deer usually tastes much gamey. Anyhow...it was a fun day. And my daughter loved it. Hope everyone is having a nice and relaxing evening.

We don't have elk, moose, or antelope here, but we have plenty of deer and I love it! I wonder if I'd like the other meats better. I'm gonna have to go out west one of these days...

Is anybody vaccinated against the H1N1 ?
I did it yesterday. Now i have headache, a swollen hurting arm, feel bad and sometimes a little bit temperature. I must do that because i am chronicly sick. O man ...
Hope it will be better soon.

I didn't get it. I hope you're feeling better soon too!

Good morning, friends! I'm back in full swing again from my honeymoon. We went to one of those Sandals resorts in St. Lucia. It was a trip we couldn't really aford right now, but it was well worth the hit to the wallet. I'm glad to see everyone is really kicking the spirit into full gear here on the boards, and especially on the countdown!

I can't believe the season begins in less than 48 hours!! cheesy

got back from work now...Kandice is doing much better today...thank the Lord for that...she has had a good night of sleep...and I am very glad abou this

In Las Vegas on business and couldn't sleep last night. Normally when I'm here the lights remind me of Christmas, but not this time. So in search of some Christmas spirit I came to this thread, as I often do.

I feel like I'm on sacred ground.

My thanks to those who faithfully give here.

Awww....thanks, my friend.
May your coffee be as rich as your friendships here!

And now we eagerly await Christmasstar's Day-2-before-the-Season post!

Days to the Season: 2
Days to Christmas Day: 44.
INCREDIBLE!! The day after tomorrow! Christmas Season 2009. A new begining. Fifty days of merriment. Can't wait!

The rain continues to fall.
We were drenched yesterday and it is supposed to fall all day today and tomorrow, but sunny skies are predicted to return on Friday, just in time for the start of the Christmas Season. Then the weekend should be great with temps in the 70's.
(Nice weather for the annual Raleigh Christmas show this weekend!!)

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, everyone!
Will be at the Shispering Pines as usual, with space reserved on the rear rooftop deck for Holiday and anyone else who cares to join Carl and us.
Can't promise a good view to the weekend today however, since the wonderful golden glow of Friday may well obscure the view!

Snowfall- Glad to hear that you had a good honeymoon.
