Yes i guessed that Auntie, what with all that talk of food. I had to laugh when you said "tis i Auntie Mistletoe" ( should be done in a french accent) it reminded me of a program we get over here in old blighty called "Allo Allo" i don't know if you get it in Canada but any fellow Brits that use this board will get the gag!!

The Yak

Are you saying I have a certain way of going on and on?

Yip! You'd be correct!

Christmas tree still up. Outside Christmas lights still on.

Hurray! Don't let the date on the calendar "grinch" your home. Let them remain until you are fully ready to say "tata".

We are supposed to have some ice rain here in the next day or so. Perhaps our first day back at school will end up being a snow day!

Same here. Wonder if the school busses will be cancelled in the morning. After two weeks off, if that happens there will be some disappointed parents - better that than having an accident though.

And so it is time for BINGER to check in- officially for the first time this thread... I'm here- signed on and ready for 2009//

YABBA!!

Welcome back! We missed you!

Should I state that in a different way?

Ahem.

"Are you having more fun in 2009?

I was. Back to work tomorrow. I love my job, but I've really enjoyed having so much time off to relax, "make merry", nap and post here and there at my favourite Christmas Forums.

As my uncle always said, "do what you gotta do so you can do what you wanna do".

:hello: The countdown carries on at a rapid pace. I'll settle down in a few weeks, but right now I'm worried I won't be ready for next Christmas!

i'm loving how the boards have stayed consistent since christmas, they are always active when i log on.

i think they will really get going come august though, that seems to be the time when most christmas lovers get that rush of excitement come back.

You just call out my name, and you know wherever I am, I'll come running...............!!!!

Okay, it's just a prototype and it's still a work in progress but this gives you a rough idea as to what I'm aiming for

cheesy Thanks between you with the Who Shot JR t-shirt memory and Maureen sticking that song in my head, I'm never going to sleep tonight.

I know Binger - sleep is for whimps. :rudolph:

Back to the grind tomorrow and that's not referring to grinding coffee beans.

And Johnor - things usually quiet down here a bit around February, perhaps this year will be different.

Maureen - Wow! That was magic -- the way you appeared! Nobody would believe we hadn't rehearsed that -- but we really hadn't!!!!! You just appeared!!!!!

That adorable bear family - How Cute Is That??????? And their plaid outfits are amazing!!! Jeff - you have to patent this!!!! Look what Maureen is doing with the plaid designing!!!! I feel like jumping up and down!!!! This is do darn cute!!!! Ev erybody - look at that design!

She did shoot J.R. Elfie! We talked alot about that! In fact, when Mary got married, it was Larry Hagman who gave her away and they are still close friends! It was a real thrill!

Back to work for me tomorrow too but I've only had four days off, one of them spent asleep...But there is something about getting back to normal after the holiday season that I really enjoy...The house seems so much bigger with all of the decorations away, and it gives me the chance to read the books, listen to the CD's that I got as gifts and remember another happy, healthy holiday season. And look! 300 days and counting is but a few days away!

March on!

Jayish - Excellent attitude! And yes - the house looks so incredibly much bigger with the Christmas stuff taken down. (You don't think it is because we kind of have a lot of Christmas stuff do you?)

But - it is so good that your body threw off that bad virus so quickly! (It was great that you stayed in bed and slept!) Some of the viruses and upper respiraory infections and things going around are really nasty. And we're not even talking about the flu!!!!!

I've joined the 2009 countdown here and I've started the countdown over at my Christmas page on MySpace. Can't wait until January 25th when I'll celebrate my "mini Christmas" and continue the tradition every month--and ALL month in July--until December!

Happy New Year to all!

that´s a cool thing that You have a Christmas Calendar on myspace....I come and look at it...and will try to add Ya

Miller4plusmore -- it will be so much fun to have you here workin' the countdown with us!!! I have never heard the phrase "mini-Christmas" --- and I Love It!!! It includes everything! Anything Christmassy you want! 25th of the month -- here I come!

Warnings for ice tonight in our area. The TV is already running notices along the bottom of the screen: "Attention. Rush to grocery store and buy bread, milk and toilet paper!" Not really - but they might as well. I guess Americans think that bread, milk and toilet paper will see them through any emergency. And I guess they do --- since we keep on repeating that action in great numbers.

Enjoy your coffee -- it is Monday! Are you doing anything new with your coffee? I found that the grocery store was still selling "Italian Sweet Cream" in the refrigerator case yesterday - yum! But remember - coffee does NOT count towards the 8 glasses of water a day you are supposed to eat - to keep you too busy to eat 8 candy bars a day.

Nice, Maureen! (Or should I say "You Majesty, The Queen of Plaid"?)

Welcome back, Jay! Glad you are feeling better.

Good Morning, Friends.

We are at the start of another week - one closer to our Christmas Season.
Go figure. OK, let's:
Days to the Season: 312
Days to Christmas Day:354
Hey! In less than 3 days we will be down to single digits to our first milestone!
(How quickly the time goes when we have the Season to count down to.)

Not too cold here today, with the temp standing just above 54 at this hour here in Raleigh.
We are supposed to have a dry respite today before the rain returns tomorrow.

Have a Marvelous Monday, My Many Merry-Makers!
<< OK, Crown. Enough with the alliteration, Gee! >>
Thanks, Carl.

BTW, Charleston - LOVE your "It's A Wonderful Life" images.
One of my all-time favorite movies, Christmas or otherwise!
