I too love Easter. I was just talking to my mom about our family dinner. We are having it on Good Friday at my brothers place this year. Pot luck again, easiest to do. Not sure how many are coming as one brother is out on the road in his truck, my niece is busy moving and we have not heard from several others yet. But, regardless of who comes, we always have a great time.
I'm also looking forward to Easter. I get a 1/2 day off on Good Friday here at work but, I always take the entire day plus Easter night. So I'll finish up work on Thurs. morning and I won't have to go back until Mon. night at midnight (which is really Tues. for me.) I always call it my mini-Christmas because it's the 1st long break I take for a holiday after Christmas. It's torture waiting out those months in between Christmas and Easter. You don't have any real holidays, no days off from work so, when Easter gets here I like to make it a nice long weekend. I'm looking forward to some Ham and potatoes! Mmmm, mmmmmm!!!!!!!
In the United States, there are no national holidays. There are federal holidays (for employees of the federal government) and state holidays (for employees of state governments). Easter is not a federal or state holiday because it's on a Sunday, when most public employees are not working anyway.
