Too funny!!
My cataract surgeries were a huge success. My vision is now 20/20, so no more glasses; except for reading glasses (over the counter)! I am totally amazed with the technology that has enabled me to see brighter colors, distinct details, and road signs at night.

I have been in school for three weeks, and this is the WORST start to school since I have been teaching! California had 20 to 1 for the last 11 years and then quit it this year. I had 17 students last year and started off with 36 students this year. In addition, I have MORE than 8 students with behavior so bad that I have issued more than 15 citations in the past few weeks. Four students have been suspended for one to two days each! These are third graders!!! I am so bummed that I just dread going in on some days. Also, our classroom budgets have been cut even though our class size has doubled. Oh, the insanity of it all. Sorry to rain on your positive outlooks and vent on this great site, but I am so frustrated.
Well, I may get to Michael's today to see if they have their Christmas stuff out here. And since Walmart is just around the corner, I may go there to see their Halloween stuff. Woo Hoo, it's going to be a great day!:thumbsup:

Well today I am going to work on cleaning the apartment. The weather is supposed to cool down here this weekend with highs in the low 70's. I can't wait. I love fall weather. Hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My sister was a middle school teacher and could tell you tales!
Once, the students in her class poisoned her drink while she was briefly out of the room, then sat there waiting for her to drink it when she got back. EVERY ONE of the students was in on it. Right before she drank from the cup, one girl spoke up. (The poison would not have killed her but would have made her sick).
That was just one of many incidents.
The administration was non-supportive and either laughed the incidents off or blamed my sister.
Eventually she had enough and quit.
Should have known that a tea lover would start a snowball battle! :wink:

Busy day at work. My contract ends tomorrow and I am hoping to have it continue, so this morning was filled with non-stop work! We'll see if I can add on at least a few more weeks. I need the money and am able to work nearly full-time hours during school, so I don't see how it's a problem!
Not much else to say, really. It's quite chilly in Ottawa. It's noon and only 59 F! The fall is certainly on its way. The weather is not supposed to warm up into the 70s until next week. Well, here's hoping I receive some good news today about my job. It would certainly help! Have a great day, everyone.
