Good afternoon, everyone!

Sounds like beautiful weather has manifested itself throughout eastern North America. It's a gorgeous 69 degrees at lunch hour in Ottawa. Supposed to reach a comfortable high of 75. Love that Fall high pressure system. Nice to hear that the special posts will continue. This year, I will be sure to comment on them.

Although I am excited because the countdown rolls on, this is also my Friday and my long weekend begins today at 4! I like that. I still have to determine if I am going to a friend's cottage or making the trip home to my own camp. We'll see what happens. Anyway, have a great Thursday everyone. Enjoy the beautiful weather as we progress toward our favourite Season of all!

september is here. september is here!!!! i LOVE this month, i start to get soooo excited for halloween, bonfire night and of course the build up to the season!

In explanation:
In the five days leading up to the begining of the Christmas Season (Nov 13) we like to place special posts, one for each day, Nov 8 through Nov 12.
There is one volunteer for each day.
Unlike our wide-ranging posts that occur throughout the year, these special posts deal directly with Christmas or the Christmas Season. They can be along the lines of "what Christmas means to me", a funny Christmas-related story, a Christmas time memory, a poem, etc - as long as it deals with our favorite holiday.
For ideas, and to get a feel for the concept, you could look at the 2008 Chrismas Countdown thread for those days last year.
We have plenty of time between now and Nov 8, so anyone wanting to volunteer can think it over.
Alway a fun period!

UNDER 2 weeks now to the 100 days to Christmas Day Milestone.

Nice...NO...Beautiful weather here in Raleign this morning where the sun is shining and we stand at 67 wonderfully walkable degrees.
No rain in the forecast and the humidity is low.
Wow! Doesn't get much better than that at this time of the year.

I am in briefly from camp because I have a school bus to drive (kids want to go home again for some reason!) It is lovely at camp, but the nights are chilly (son wants more blankets!)
Tomorrow we move my daughter to her new home for college, and then back to camp again until Monday! Yeah!!! cheesy

Well I just got home from doing some work this morning and while I was out I stopped in at Hobby Lobby. I bought a couple of small resin Santas. I don't know where I am going to put them but I couldn't pass them up. I hope everyone is having a Great DAY!!!!!!!!

The rental season has ended at the beach and we are traveling over there tomorrow afternoon for the weekend to see how our place survived after 10 rental weeks!

A countdown volunteer is needed for Saturday and Sunday mornings (Sept 5 and 6).

Hello all. I hope you all had a good day today. I had a very long day. I came home from work a little early and got myself ready and was back out the door 45 minutes later. I had to go to my husband's grandmother's funeral today. It was a very long day. I'm glad to be home now and I think I am staying home from work tonight too since it's after 5 pm and I"m not asleep yet!

I'm ready for the long Labor Day weekend! Tomorrow is the fist day of hunting season, and my son and I are ready! If I can just get through this pesky workday...

Hey everyone! Happy Friday!

Got a big surprise yesterday afternoon when one of Brendan's co-workers asked us if we wanted to use 3 extra tickets to go see Disney on Ice that night! I don't think I've ever been and it was really neat. Kaylin (age 2) just absolutely LOVED it! She couldn't even peel her eyes off of the skaters to drink her milk. At one point, she wanted to clap and literally threw her cup at me so that it could free up her hands to clap. It was really pretty magical!

My pumpkin cake went over REALLY well at MOPS yesterday. I'm not going to lie - I love going in somewhere with a baked good and having people throw compliments at me and beg for the recipe. I grew up in the same church my whole life and I know that there were certain people that you went to the potluck just to get their food. I want to be that person!

Anyways, not much going on this weekend. Have to finish getting everything together for a major promotion on Monday at work. Brendan is working on downloading a very specific list of Christmas songs that I am putting together for a new Christmas mix cd. If I like it enough, I'll make copies for a part of people's presents.

Oh and for anyone that has a Chick-fil-A by them, just so you know - on Monday you can go to ANY Chick-fil-A and if you wear any article of clothing that has a sports team logo on it, you get a FREE Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich. Yay for FREE!!!!!!!

Once again we have arrived at the end of the work week.
Just amazing how fast the weeks come and go - like signposts flashing by on our journey back to the Christmas Season once again.

And we race ever closer to that 100-Days-To-Christmas Signpost!

Beautiful again here in Raleigh at this hour, where out temp stands at just over 65.
Still no rain in the forecast for here but we might not be so lucky at the coast this afternoon and tomorrow! A better chance over there.
