Christmas Countdown - 2009

Good morning Christmas friends!!! This might sound "strange" but now that I have all my halloween decorations up, I'm feeling all Christmassy!! :lol: I got up this morning & turned on the lights on the mantel (clear) & the orange lights around the banister & I just LOVE having the lights in the room!!! Really puts me in the mood for Christmas. I went to Ben Franklin yesterday & they have out so many beautiful Christmas decorations, cards, wrapping paper & CANDLES!!! I bought a (Yankee) Sparlking Snow & Welcome Christmas! I can't wait to burn the Welcome Christmas!! It smells awesome! They also had a Christmas Cupcake that I didn't buy, but it smelled good! I saw on Yankee's website they have a candle called North Pole, which I think is new! I just love candles!!! I also bought a fall scent - Be Thankful! I have it burning now at work & it smells wonderful!!!! I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!!! :dance:

Christmasstar - congrats on the new home! How exciting!!! And right before the Holidays!! I bet you are bursting at the seems to decorate! :sparkle:

Was 38º when I got up this morning. I walked w/ my friend & it was gorgeous outside! No wind & an almost full moon! I wish the weather could stay like this!!! Nah....gotta have some snow!!!

Hello all,

The start of another week, and another dollar as they say.

Heading into a long weekend up here in the great white north.

Saw some video footage on the Can. weather network channel this morning showing that Calgary got some snow yesterday....wow!!

That's early. And they had some as late as June but then they had an awesome July were we got nothing but rain and really didn't get to much summer weather until Aug. and it's hard to believe that we just a few weeks away to the start of the season and back into wintery weather.

Signs of snow kinda makes you want to start thinking about Xmas music, despite it being a few weeks early yet.

Speaking of which, I'm curious to know when is it ok to start listening to Xmas music?

I try to wait until Nov. but even the last week of Oct when we get under that '2 months away' window, it gets harder and harder to stay away from it.

Hooray, long weekend! Thanksgiving should be delicious! Personally, I used to only start listening to Christmas music on November 25th. Coincidentally, that is also when I would start watching Christmas movies. Last year I discovered that it did not give me enough time. Therefore, I am going to obey the MMC Christmas calendar this year. November 13th is the day for me! Although it may technically be a couple days early as I am going to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra on the 11th!

Good morning, everyone!

Another weekend has past and we are yet another week closer to Christmas! The countdown certainly made me excited today. I'm glad to see that we're already into the 30s until the Season as well as ever so close to another Milestone!

Currently it is 50 F in Ottawa, which is quite comfortable for this time of year. It went up to 60 F yesterday with very little wind. It was a beautiful fall day. Most of all, we won our scrimmage against the best team in the city. Great day all around! A high of 57 today with a trace of rain.

The leaves are really starting to change, which means that I must get out and take some photos quite soon. I don't want to miss out on a beautiful opportunity again this year. Soon they will all fall to the ground and make way for the winter weather. Of course, there is still a few more weeks until that can happen. So much excitement is in the air and I am glad everyone else feels the same way!

Have a great day everyone! Start the week off well. I'm hoping for a big Packers win tonight over those ugly Vikings. Of course, this victory is the only way my week can start off positive. It may ruin my entire week otherwise. Anyway, enjoy your day and we are definitely getting closer!

Welcome to monday. Yeah yeah I know hehe. On the weekend we went to Windsor to visit. It was my sisters house warming party. That was loads of fun. Her house is decorated (as is ours) for halloween. We are going to pick pumpkins this weekend in the pumpkin patch! Ill watch out for the great pumpkin. Its our sons first halloween so we will have to get 3 pumpkins. Ill carve one for him. Oh it should be fun! Speaking of fun Burl Ives Holly Jolly Christmas is running through my head lol

My Hubby bought me the Yankee Candle "Be Thankful" for our wedding anniversary last month and I cant stop burning it. It smells delightful cheesy!

Hey everyone! Hope everyone's Monday is going well! I had a relatively easy day at work and am now getting a few things done at home.

I had a pretty exciting weekend as I got a very large promotion (& therefore raise!) at work. It is well on track with my career goals and so I am very excited about this!

The raise couldn't come at a better time, though as I just sat down and worked through my official Christmas budget and well, I am a little behind on my savings this year LOL. We are taking a trip and I want to throw a party this year, so I need approx. $600 more than I would in a normal year. I'm excited to know that I will be able to still enjoy these extra celebrations and still not spend above my means.

Anywho - the countdown is really going now! The season feels so close! I just can't wait!

Good morning! I haven't been on MMC for a while. It feels like forever, but it's only been a couple of days. I ran around and tied up a lot of loose ends this weekend. I still have a few loose ends to tie up throughout the week too.

I can't believe how close we are to the season. My Halloween decorations are up. In 3 weeks I carve the pumpkins with my siblings. In 4 weeks it's Halloween. And the day after that I get married!! And then I go on a honeymoon for a week and come back to chillier weather and more Christmas decorations at the stores!!!!

This is just way too much excitement for me. I think I need to lie down. cheesy

I never had mince pie either. I just learned today that there's not actually meat in it!
