Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

We just decided last night that we are going to the Smoky Mountains for a quick weekend. I love it!

My mom is going up today with plans to stay for the rest of the month. While she's there, we'll visit this weekend, then my uncle & his wife are going up the next weekend, then some friends in NC are coming over to visit...she'll have plenty of entertaining to do!

It's 5.5 hours away from us, but I'd drive it every weekend if I could afford it!

Today is Hubby's 35 Birthday! Gonna bake a cake with the kids for Daddy,Make his favorite Dinner,then presents.chilly,wet, and dreary here.

Good morning!!!
Just had to share that I made a "first" last night - my 1st ever sweet potato pie. I have never made or had one before! Unfortunately I am giving it to a friend for his b-day so I probably won't even get to try it, but it looks delicious & festive!!! I licked the spoon after I had the filling in the crust & it tasted YUM!!! I will have to make another for us!! Makes the house smell really good too!!

Awesome....isn't a great feeling know you can make something so yummy like that!

You're right we are close to Robbinsville. The fishing is ok on Santeetlah. Fontana is probably a little better but TVA has taken it down so much that it is harder to get a boat out.

Wow! Eleven months down and only one more to go. Unbelievable!

I too miss Cedar, Bing, and wish we could get her back by the start of the Season. It's just not the same without her presence. She is such a part of the seasonal picture!

Coolish here in Raleigh, where we currently stand at 56 degrees.
Should be a nice one, in the mid 70's by this afternoon, but then the chillly rain returns for the next several days.

I am trying very hard to keep my October Christmas music sabbatical going. I usually try to lay off the Christmas music in October each year so that I can enjoy it that much more starting Nov. 1. It is tough, but so far I have resisted the urge. I know that it will be worth the wait!!

I thought about doing that too. I just stopped listening as much as I did before. Now I only listen first thing in the morning. Maybe starting tomorrow, I'll stop all together.

Good Tuesday morning!! It's so good to hear that all of our friends up north had a nice Thanksgiving holiday. I hope you're all not too stuffed for left overs!! That's my favorite part - all the left overs.

When I woke up and looked out the window this morning, I said to myself, "it looks like October out there." The leaves on the trees are starting to turn a nice dark red. It's only 53F out there right now and it's not going to warm up much more than that today.

I will be venturing out on this blustery day today. I have some shopping to do. I have to go to the mall today (oh darn! cheesy). I'm not a big fan of the mall until the Christmas things come out, and I have a feeling some of the stores will be well equipped with them.

Everyone have a wonderful October 13th. Only one month till the season! I can't believe it!!!

WOO HOO only one more month until the season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, everyone!

We've done it! We have hit the one month mark. It's incredible to see that there are only 31 days until our favourite season. The fact that it is a day after a holiday weekend definitely helps place a smile on my face as I sit at work today, too.

It may have snowed a bit overnight, but I certainly did not see it. When I woke up and walked to work it was very cold and rainy this morning. The temperature currently sits around 37F and we're only supposed to reach a high of 45F - well below seasonal for this time of year!

The number of posts this morning definitely made me smile. The more posts to read means that everyone is getting into the excitement of the final countdown toward the Season! I like it! Well, I really should get back to work. After all, there is a bit to do here and there.

Dripy and cool here in Salt Lake today...still haven't had our first snowfall, which is a little unusual. I've done more pumpkin hunting this year with the kids than we have for several years...we must have 12 stacked up on the porch now!
